We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features in Microsoft Intune for me are application deployment, Defender deployment, and asset management.""Users can make screenshots, and devices only need the minimal version of iOS.""While Microsoft Intune boasts a wide range of features, its user-friendliness and bundled licensing cost are key considerations for me.""Conditional access helps me control uncontrolled access.""One of the standout features of Intune is its seamless accessibility to work data, eliminating the need to be tied to an office or a desktop.""The solution is easy to use and it has good performance.""The ability to wipe data from and reset devices is one of the most important and valuable features. If a device is reported stolen, we can freeze it or wipe the data from it, preventing data leakage.""I believe that the solution is actually in Gartner's top quadrant at the moment for mobile device management."

More Microsoft Intune Pros →

"Microsoft Mobility and EMS include Intune for Mobility, which provides mobile device management and mobile application management. With mobile device management, you can control the entire device in an organization.""A good feature that is present is MAM or Mobile Application Management. We can deploy this feature on the device, which is not managed by the organization. If I apply some security configuration on a personal device, the user would be really disappointed. What we do instead is that we give all access to the applications related to corporate and ask the users to use the application. We secure the application by putting the security features on the applications and not on the users' devices. This way, the users are happy, and we also meet our company's compliance standards. Then, everyone is happy.""You can scale the solution up or down by department.""It is a stable solution...It is a scalable solution.""The solution offers excellent documentation that is easily available online.""The product is a unified solution and you don't require to purchase tools from different vendors. The system analyzes behavior and activity and takes steps for protection.""The solution is scalable.""Integration between our departments has been the most valuable."

More Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security Pros →

"It offers a single source of truth. Everything can be handled from one tier.""We like the integration with other systems.""The initial setup isn't so difficult.""The community is very active and when I had questions about an issue, I was able to find the resources.""The level of customization for data imports and role modeling, because it helps to integrate faster, support easier and let it reuse the organization role structure.""The basic concept is most valuable. I like how they have designed the solution. They create an Identity Cube, and then they do all the processes and configuration around the Identity Cube.""Great product to manage the access control of users.""The access certification feature is valuable."

Cons
"I wanted to check if there is any provision at the Intune level to restrict certain things, such as a website, but unfortunately, that feature is available only in Microsoft Defender. Intune has web filtering capabilities, but they are only useful for protection from malicious websites, whereas we would like to be able to restrict a website. For example, YouTube is a clean website. No one would identify it as a malicious website, but if we want to stop the end-users from going to that website, we have to go for another product, such as Microsoft Defender or another third-party proxy solution. It would be great if this capability is included in Intune.""It would be good if, in addition to the minimal patching and compliance, we could also use Intune for application deployment. For instance, if a device is not patched, Intune should have the ability to push not only a Microsoft patch but also other patches, such as a browser patch.""It would be nice to have a location tracker for the mobile device management tool. I'm not sure if it exists but hasn't been configured or if it's missing, but we've been unable to utilize the location features.""Microsoft needs to enhance device-level security, as sometimes when using Microsoft Intune, the device's operating system becomes stuck and requires a full uninstall to remove the Intune bug.""Lacking ability to leverage more iOS device management internally.""The add-ons must be integrated into the solution.""It would help if administrators could pinpoint the exact location of a stolen device to help law enforcement retrieve it and apprehend the suspect.""There are a lot of small use cases where we realized that some technical solution was missing in Microsoft in comparison to other products. For example, it lacks something similar to sensing or location-based rules and configurations."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"The auditing and reporting could be updated and upgraded. I would like to see light applications because they consume a lot of the device's memory at present.""Technical support could be improved. Sometimes they use a third party that's not so knowledgeable in the product and that can slow down things a bit.""The MDM part of the engine could be better.""Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security is expensive.""There are certain shortcomings in the licensing model of the product where improvements are required.""Microsoft's feature management is based on licenses. Microsoft follows ethical licensing and hence do not restrict the use of it.""The licensing can be messy at times.""We did the deployment with the help of Microsoft's consultants. But sometimes, we found it difficult to educate the application developers to integrate."

More Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security Cons →

"The solution, in general, is quite expensive.""The connectors should be improved.""I think that the onboarding framework could be improved.""Scalability is hard, especially when you are doing it in real time.""The price of IdentityIQ could be lower. There are additional costs when you buy the licenses, and they force the customers to pay for them.""The solution's technical support team's response time and skills need improvement since it is an area where there are shortcomings.""What it doesn't do is provide notice in the event of a vulnerability or offense from the security.""Some setups should be done in the interface and in the code, and could be made simpler."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) is the only comprehensive solution designed to help manage and protect users, devices, apps, and data in a mobile-first, cloud-first world.
