We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We can see that it's really improved the way end users can do their own graphs and pick their own fields of information and present that in a nice way.""The most valuable features in Microsoft BI are the analysis using the feature drag and drop function. It's very easy to load and use different data sources.""PowerBi is used to import our production data and generate dashboards, then integrates other Excel sheets to provide managers dashboards. This helps them get insights to make better OEE improvement decisions, mainly where to focus resources. We became able to see indicators from any time frame (day, week, month, or year), then could make better decisions.""Microsoft BI's most valuable features are the user interface, which is easy to use and light.""Our setup is very straight forward and can be done in a matter of hours.""Allows business users with a mission to solve their own problems, without an IT person.""It is more user-friendly compared to SSRS.""My favorite feature is the power query editor, where it can do the data transformations."

"It's helpful if you want to make informed decisions using data. We can take the information, tease out the attributes, and label everything. It's suitable for profiling and forecasting in any industry.""The documentation for this solution is very good, where each operator is explained with how to use it.""The most valuable feature of RapidMiner is that it is code free. It is similar to playing with Lego pieces and executing after you are finished to see the results. Additionally, it is easy to use and has interesting utilities when preparing the data. It has a utility to automatically launch a series of models and show the comparisons. When finished with the comparisons you can select the best one, and deploy it automatically.""The GUI capabilities of the solution are excellent. Their Auto ML model provides for even non-coder data scientists to deploy a model.""It is easy to use and has a huge community that I can rely on for help. Moreover, it is interactive.""RapidMiner for Windows is an excellent graphical tool for data science.""What I like about RapidMiner is its all-in-one nature, which allows me to prepare, extract, transform, and load data within the same tool.""The solution is stable."

Cons
"It is too slow. I hope in future it will be a comparable big data tool, such as, for example, Data Lake.""It needs a wizard that covers all its options.""Integrating it with the physics build model or the engineering model should be included.""I would like to see a change in the premium capacity.""I would like to see better, undisturbed stability without any interruptions.""Its performance and stability can be improved. It takes time to load, and sometimes, it also breaks down for the whole region. Its usability could also be better, and it could also have more connections with different data sources.""It is easy enough. I don't see any real substantial improvements that are needed. It is great as it is, but its interface could be a bit modern.""Real-time updating needs improvement."

More Microsoft Power BI Cons →

"If they could include video tutorials, people would find that quite helpful.""The biggest problem, not from a platform process, but from an avoidance process, is when you work in a heavily regulated environment, like banking and finance. Whenever you make a decision or there is an output, you need to bill it as an avoidance to the investigator or to the bank audit team. If you made decisions within this machine learning model, you need to explain why you did so. It would better if you could explain your decision in terms of delivery. However, this is an issue with all ML platforms. Many companies are working heavily in this area to help figure out how to make it more explainable to the business team or the regulator.""RapidMiner can improve deep learning by enhancing the features.""Many things in the interface look nice, but they aren't of much use to the operator. It already has lots of variables in there.""I think that they should make deep learning models easier.""One challenge I encountered while implementing RapidMiner was the lack of documentation. Since there aren't as many users, finding resources to learn the tool was initially difficult. To overcome this hurdle, I believe RapidMiner could improve by providing more tutorials tailored for new users.""A great product but confusing in some way with regard to the user interface and integration with other tools.""In terms of the UI and SaaS, the user interface with KNIME is more appealing than RapidMiner."
