We performed a comparison between Oracle Database and Oracle Multitenant based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Relational Databases Tools solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Oracle can quickly expand its capacity to handle growing data needs by adding additional server resources."
"Our internal data management system runs on Oracle Database."
"The most valuable feature of Oracle Database is all the functionalities. When we write a code we sometimes have to create an explicit functionality to process the data that we want. At times we find that there is already existing functionality in data created by Oracle itself, it is helpful."
"The feature I find most valuable about this solution is the reliability."
"The platform's security features and stability are commendable."
"Especially with VMs, the solution can scale well."
"The most valuable feature of Oracle Database is its stability - one can trust that the database is always working."
"Oracle Database is the most widely accepted database, and it has built-in technical and security capabilities. It supports the new object in the database. The performance and security are very good, and it is user-friendly. There are a lot of people trained to use this solution which makes it simple to find assistance."
"The feature that I like on Multitenant is the ease - it is very easy for my team to run the database."
"The database becomes pluggable. Inside this container is called a pluggable database and each application contains this pluggable database inside Multitenant. We can then share resources like control files, memory, etc. This lets you stop and start each application without impacting the others. This resource sharing is the most valuable feature"
"You can scale the solution as needed."
"The most valuable features are the speed and ease of use."
"Multitenant has a container database with many pluggable databases."
"Maintaining databases is a valuable feature for us."
"The best thing about Oracle Multitenant is its ability to consolidate multiple databases into one engine."
"It's easy to use and works great."
"The queries performance could improve compared to other products."
"Integration with big data would be helpful since we are planning to load a lot of big data."
"The solution’s integration could be improved."
"The Oracle Database could improve on integration with other infrastructure systems like Active Directory."
"It should have more monitoring features. There should be features to be able to analyze the performance with a query. In Microsoft SQL Server, when you are running any stored procedure, if you want to analyze the performance, you just run the query analyzer. You can easily find out that something is missing in a joint condition, or clustering needs to be added because of a delay. I can't find such features in Oracle Database. They should be added."
"While working with 20-30 terabytes is okay using this solution, if you have Big Data, data that's much bigger than that, you will run into issues. It's a problem I have right now. They should support much more data."
"They should reduce its price and provide faster support."
"Improvements in Oracle Database could focus on simplifying deployment processes and providing clearer documentation."
"The user interface for this solution can be made better."
"That said, Oracle in general doesn't invest in their UI for any of their applications. If we're talking about the dashboard or other user experience, there is room for improvement. I'm talking about on premises. The cloud version has started to improve."
"Technical support could be faster."
"The solution lacks a GUI for commands."
"This solution is a bit complicated when collecting from containers - that feature should be a bit better."
"It can be complicated to scale up the solution, but it's scalable."
"While the product is overall excellent, it is quite expensive."
"It would be beneficial to include this solution with Oracle Enterprise, but Oracle charges additional fees for it."
