Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution provides satisfying native integration features""During simulations or demonstrations, the tool generates alerts, providing details such as the specific application, its origin, and potential threats. For instance, it can identify if an application belongs to a known ransomware group. The system rates the threat, offering a clear detection ratio, such as 97 out of 100. It not only identifies threats but also illustrates the associated behaviors, helping us understand the potential risk to a particular endpoint.""The solution is easy to use, and the interface is intuitive.""The log aggregation and storage provided by InsightIDR has shown no issues with scalability; aggregating over one hundred millions events daily.""The alerting to drive investigations and remediation has been its most valuable feature.""Very intuitive and easy to set up.""InsightIDR’s ability to process millions of transactions per day, and to notify me of the most critical ones, is priceless. InsightIDR has the alerts tuned, and has the ability to quickly drill down to determine the threat level.""Features for user behavior analytics and the rules for attack review are good."

"The HTML file sandboxing is very good.""The product's initial setup phase was not difficult.""The performance and stability are great.""As a security product, managing threats is crucial for my clients.""The product is very easy to install.""The most valuable feature of Trend Micro Deep Discovery is its complete end-to-end visibility of threats.""There is no downtime or server vulnerability with this solution.""The most valuable features are the protection and that it is fast."

Cons
"The solution needs improvement in threat intelligence. Increasing the depth of intelligence to help users understand more about threats is a possibility. My suggestion is to expand access to other websites or resources.""It would be useful to import threat intelligence in YARA format along with known incorrect email addresses.""The dashboard is an area that could be simplified.""I feel it would greatly benefit from more supported log sources.""InsightIDR's integration with other solutions could be improved. Also, I'd like more control from the portal over what's happening on the endpoint side. For example, when I see an attack on an endpoint, I want to be able to stop it from the portal.""The reporting is the weakest aspect. There needs to be multi-level grouping for events (for example, group by user and destination). Right now, we can do a group by user and a separate table or group by destination. But I'd be more interested in where a person was logging into instead of who was logging in or where he was logging in.""The searching feature in Rapid7 InsightIDR needs to evolve""One thing that springs to mind is easier API integration with ITSMs. We are evaluating a new ITSM and I would like to have InsightIDR create a ticket when an attack is identified, and the ticket would be closed in InsightIDR when the ITSM resolution is completed. This would take out the "single point of failure" we currently have, if the email recipient is somehow absent, in recording the risk appetite for the incident and the actions taken to mitigate or not."

"The scalability is sometimes limited.""The solution needs to be able to integrate better with third-party infrastructure.""The solution should support multiple platforms in Windows, Linux, and Mac. Customers can have different software types. The virtual environment should be able to install and analyze them. The tool also gives only a minimum level of extension support. It may not be able to extract files and give details about them. I would also like to see third-party product integration in the tool. The solution's current integration is only with Trend Micro products only.""Trend Micro Deep Discovery's technical support could be improved, and it could be made more active.""The tool's configuration can be made easier.""This solution could be improved with faster technical support and cheaper licensing prices.""Some of the end users may not be technically proficient, so they occasionally face problems due to a lack of knowledge.""The solution could be more stable and offer more security."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I am sure that there are cheaper products out there, but none that meet so many of our needs whilst maintaining stability and usability."
  • "The team is very willing to work with companies. My suggestion is to call the Rapid7 sales department and see how they can help."
  • "Licensing is straightforward. If, for some reason, you don’t meet the minimum licensing requirements, there is a third-party managed service that can help."
  • "Accurately predict your licensing counts as this is a subscription based product."
  • "The pricing and licensing are competitive."
  • "Licensing is by endpoint and amount of retention time (at least ours is). Default retention was one year, but we are able to push the retention further if needed. There's also a provide-your-own-S3 option for longer retention if you don't want to pay for the additional retention years in your Rapid7 agreement."
  • "It is a reasonably priced solution."
  • "It is on a yearly basis. For our own company, for about 250 users, it was 16,000 euros a year."
  • More Rapid7 InsightIDR Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Overall, the price is good."
  • "The price of the solution is lower compared to the competition."
  • "The licensing cost is a bit pricey. We pay a yearly subscription."
  • "Its price is fine, but Trend Micro can improve the pricing in general. It is a hardware solution. It is based on the number of nodes, and according to the number of nodes, clients decide which box they should acquire. They have to renew their license every year. It is subscription-based."
  • "The tool’s licensing costs depend on the customers."
  • "The tool's licensing costs are yearly. There are no additional costs associated with the product."
  • "Compared to its competitors, Trend Micro Deep Discovery is a little expensive."
  • "The pricing is okay for some, and sometimes, some people find it expensive."
