We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"In terms of technical support, you will get an immediate response.""The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types, we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager(MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company detail on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data.""Being able to manage the devices remotely is most valuable. We can push security requirements through Microsoft Intune.""Autopilot is a great feature. Most users are looking for a zero-touch deployment.""The Autopilot feature is fantastic. It is a Microsoft product, so it deals best with Microsoft operating systems, but it can integrate with iOS, Mac OS, Linux, and Android.""With on-premises Active Directory, the main challenge was that we had no control when a user was working from home. We didn't know what exactly a user was doing and whether the AV was up to date or not. Intune provides better control of their machines.""It is a helpful tool to manage BYOD policies.""I like that it's very good and very simple. I found that we just needed to have a proper subscription for an Intune tenant, and from the subscription, if we have the right role assigned, like the global admin role or the owner role, we can use Microsoft cloud resources. With the help of that, we can do many things like setting up Microsoft Intune in the cloud to create our virtual machines. All these can be done, and the steps are very simple. I really liked it. I like features like Windows Auto-Enrollment. I like it very much because whenever you supply it to the end-user, it will be ready to use immediately. The end-user only needs to provide the user credentials, and then they are good to go. I also really like Cloud PC, which was recently launched on Azure."

"Sophos can block the Wi-Fi connection on a mobile device. That's one feature we wanted, but the main thing is the ability to disable the device if it's lost or stolen. We need to shut down PayPal, so it can't be used to make unauthorized purchases.""The management and enrollment process is great, and with the asset management and instant action menu, we can easily maintain and support the users.""The solution is quite user-friendly.""The security features work well.""I like the level of interaction that the product offers with the other products in our company's environment.""They always add more features to this product.""The initial setup process is straightforward and fast.""The remote management and cloud-based maintenance features of this solution are very useful for our organization."

"Customer service has been excellent. Trend Micro has very good deals and support - also in the Middle East.""Their ransomware protection is useful.""The solution offers a lot of custom features.""The Android protection, it’s faster.""This solution is able to protect the data, files, and folders that have been hijack or encrypted.""Parental control""Setting up the product is not too difficult.""It will reduce the vulnerability level for safe browsing."

Cons
"There can be delays in the deployment of new policies.""There is room for improvement in integration and security as well.""They should improve its compatibility with other operating systems such as iOS and Linux. It supports Linux but they still need to work on the iOS part.""Integration with Mac devices requires some improvement.""It needs certificate provisioning for S/MIME purposes.""There should be more focus on mobile device security and integration.""We would like to see support for Chrome and/or devices for Chromebooks.""The pricing can be expensive if you are not combining it with other products."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"To manage the Apple devices is not that straightforward there are a lot of features the other third parties solutions are offering which Sophos Mobile is not.""We have experienced issues in updating iOS devices when we set a minimum version requirement policy, and we do not have the option to force automatic installation. This means that the device must be supervised in order for updates to be applied, which we would like to see improved.""They continue to work on integration with mobile device management and mobile security. They are improving the protection but I think that the capabilities still need to be enhanced.""We encounter issues while working with iOS.""In terms of what could be improved, the initial configuration and setup of the environment could probably be made a little bit easier. There are so many pieces that go into it. Intune is absolutely insane and Sophos is better, but it still is a bit complex to get it all set up correctly.""The product does not work well in iOS.""For Sophos Mobile, it is difficult to get good support.""It could be more secure."

More Sophos Mobile Cons →

"There is always room for improvement in security.""The iOS protection: This is because Apple will “close” your smartphone.""When the agent upgrades itself, it loses some settings and they need to be re-enabled manually.""Trend Micro tends to drain the battery running in the background, but apart from that, they need to improve their updates.""Contact Backup.""This solution is weak and cannot detect the latest ransomware.""There have been some users who have been complaining about the interface being unfriendly and when the application software is installed on their phone making their mobile slow.""Sometimes, when generating random numbers to our mobile feed the random number doesn't work. We mainly deal with QR codes because of this. If they could fix the random number generator that would be helpful."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."
