We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I like that Sophos SafeGuard provides excellent technical support.""It's a straightforward solution.""What I love most about Sophos SafeGuard is its user-friendly interface. My company has another software with a complex user interface versus Sophos SafeGuard, which is extremely easy to use.""The solution has done a fabulous job of protecting us from threats.""It's quite easy to integrate Safeguard with BitLocker""The Intercept X feature is the most valuable feature. You can't find this feature in other firewalls because Intercept X works as if it has an interaction between the endpoint and the firewall.""The most valuable feature is the synchronized security. It's a unique feature on the market at this time only offered by Sophos. As a reseller, we often win bids and get clients because of this unique trademark feature.""Policy deployment is easy and quick to do."

"The solution is great for large-scale deployments.""It is stable.""It has reduced the number of incidents related to the loss of information.""We have been very satisfied with the solution's security capabilities.""The solution is easy to use.""Its management is good, and it is also scalable and mostly stable.""Their cloud features such as Cloud Endpoint security, ransomware modules, malware, and other modules are very effective.""Antivirus, URL filtering, and firewall protection are the most effective features for data protection."

Cons
"What would make Sophos SafeGuard better than competitors is if its management console also includes firewall management. In the future, I want Sophos SafeGuard to be more scalable.""There are times that this solution takes up too much memory that needs to be resolved. If it is not fixed it will definitely create issues in the future.""When you have the PPM chipset, you can have the power-on authentication, when you boot up your machine, you can set the six-digit passcode. As of right now, SafeGuard can't manage the six-digit passcode in terms of the expiration, and I need that added as a feature.""The solution is not using other features like booting encryption, because it causes very heavy processing of the workstation. If they could find some way to handle the encryption and decryption to be lighter on the workstation it would be better.""Sometimes, multiple updates and crashes happen in the tool, making it an area where improvements are required.""Having a DLP integrated with the encryption engine would be very good.""The cost is rather expensive. It's a pain point for many clients. They should work to see if they can reduce pricing.""The focus should be on making things automated ."

"It was hard to install and took us about three months.""One feature that is lacking is integration with Symantec Information Centric (ICT). As it is now, I don't see how to integrate the encryption with ICT, and in my opinion this is an area that certainly requires encryption, even though it's no longer supported by Broadcom.""The UI could be improved.""The program's disk encryption is not very friendly with Microsoft OS updates. We have a problem with updates failing unless we use a time-consuming work-around.""It's a bit difficult to get good support. Their response times are really bad.""The solution does not have endpoint control.""What I didn't find helpful in the version we used is the fact that all devices had to be on the same network for us to push through the encryption.""More features need to be included in the encryption software."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The licensing costs depend on the series. For example, XG 85 can be around $200. If you go to ACC or to a four or five-year enterprise solution, you will find these devices can cost $10,000. It depends on the series."
  • "Licensing for this solution is on a yearly basis."
  • "The licenses are dependant on the number of users and computers you have to protect."
  • "We have a yearly license with Sophos which is around $1000-$1200 or so per annum. There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fee."
  • "Licensing is on a yearly basis and the pricing could be better."
  • "It would be great if the price of the solution was lower than the current price. If we are to sell this particular solution to smaller businesses and not just enterprise businesses it needs to be lower."
  • "We pay around $10 a year for each endpoint, including support."
  • "Pricing for Sophos SafeGuard could be improved because it could reach a thousand dollars depending on the product, edition, and software key purchased."
