We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is a very fast and reliable backup, which requires less management and restores quickly.""It's a good solution that's very easy to use. Acronis has two valuable features. The first one is creating images, and the other is starting virtual machines in the cloud so the client can work immediately.""The performance has been fine so far.""i use the backup solution and I use something called Disk Director, which is a related product. Together, they allow me to manage all of my storage space.""I can encrypt the data, I can make it send me an email if it fails. It lets me choose which files I want to ignore during backup.""For local backups, it has options to back up almost any storage. The back can be either a shared folder or anything you want, it's pretty flexible.""Consistency and reliability. The interface is easy to understand and consistent across applications. While not 100%, it is a very reliable backup solution.""This is a full software so deployment time is very quick."

"The initial setup was straightforward and we received support from the manufacturer.""Given that we are in the hurricane belt, the spin-up of replicated servers in the cloud is among the most valuable features. If our site goes down we can just connect to the cloud appliance, spin up the servers, and we are good to go.""The Infrascale Dashboard is very easy to understand, has a good overview, and gives me access to all my appliances without having to have a local VPN connection to the individual clients. It makes it very easy to find my way around.""The most valuable feature is the ability to boot locally, as well as in Infrascale's cloud. This means that we can either do on-site failover or failover to their cloud.""For this particular client, the solution’s Critical Server Insurance feature that protects physical and virtual servers including Windows, Linux, VMware, and Hyper-V, was a very big factor as well. They have a bunch of physical servers, as well as virtual. The mix is predominantly virtual. They also have some NAS boxes that we back up using Infrascale.""The most valuable feature is disaster recovery, where we have the ability to boot up VMs quickly in a disaster.""The recovery of data is the most valuable feature. The software backup, which is just a program that gets installed on a server, can back up to the cloud. You can install that on a server or PC, and that will simply back up a user's files and folders. If it is installed on the server, we just back up the relevant data. Recovering that, if there has been a malicious attack on a business or anything like that, has been invaluable in the past. The good features about that are obviously, if the physical hardware has a problem, then we can utilize the appliance, turn on the virtual machine, and carry on running the business while we put the hardware back and correct the issue.""Its Critical Server Insurance feature for protecting physical and virtual servers, including Windows, Linux, VMware, and Hyper-V is mandatory for me and it makes me happy. If I had a backup solution that didn't do that, it would not be a backup solution and would not be any good."

Cons
"Acronis has some limitations on the cloud side.""The solution's error handling can be improved specifically for Linux errors.""I believe that the next release should be easier to configure as this one is difficult to configure even the easiest of tasks.""The pricing could be improved.""It would be nice to have a partition that I can boot and reinstall when taking a backup image from the operating system.""One improvement that could be made is adding the option to download files in a PST format when doing a 365 or Google Cloud to cloud backup.""Some of the default settings out-of-the-box should already be set up for the novice user. For instance, the warnings that say a hard drive has bad sectors and stops the backup from performing.""We would always support better pricing."

More Acronis Cyber Protect Cons →

"They can always make the GUI a little bit nicer, the interface level a bit better. There's always room for improvement.""The pricing model that they recently changed to is a little bit complicated, and the biggest area for improvement is a better way of figuring out how to price it.""They set me up as a vendor, not as a client. So sometimes I end up in the wrong portal and I'm doing vendor things instead of client things, and I didn't realize that right away. Once I figured it out I just changed my favorites on my desktop to go to the client-side.""There could be some room for improvement in the on-premises hardware selection. It is hard for them to deploy a lot of different hardware options. Depending on footprint size and overall capabilities, that is where there could be some flexibility in some cases. However, it is not a deal-breaker.""The only thing I would suggest, and I have talked to my manager about it already, is that they should have a direct backup-to-cloud solution. It should be something that does not require me to do an image backup, and then individual file and folder backups, to be able to restore individual files.""When you are ordering hardware appliances, they have to be delivered from America. In the past, hard drives on the appliance have been simple SSD drives that are installed. However, they don't have a local supply for the SSD drives in the UK. They have to be exported from the US, arrive, and then I have to go and install them. Then, they will rebuild it from their side of things. However, I could order that same SSD drive online and get it the next day. So, I have to wait days for things to come when I could get the exact same drive the next day in the UK, if I wanted to. That causes a bit of a problem. I don't know how many businesses they have in the UK, but I do think that having to import stuff from the US is a time-consuming problem. If there was a holding in the UK, then we wouldn't have that delay in time.""Having options to replicate between their data centers, once the data is offsite, would be an improvement that they could make.""I would like to be able to limit the bandwidth in cases, for example, where we are uploading the backup."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Doing what this is capable of doing, the cost of it is in line."
  • "Pricing is what it is. I don't shop around once I find a good solution. I insist they maintain ongoing support year after year for updates and tech support."
  • "I would say that at the pricepoint that it's at, it's definitely worth the money."
  • "It has already paid off itself in the first few months that we implemented it."
  • "When it comes to elements like cost, I think it is the only backup solution which has perpetual licenses, whereby you buy the license once and for all."
  • "I like the pricing, and that it is easy to use and has performed well. "
  • "Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis."
  • "The pricing is comparable to the newest solution available on the market, Altaro."
  • More Acronis Cyber Protect Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Our licensing fees are billed every four months."
  • "You get unlimited clients and buy a bucket of space. In addition to the standard fees there were setup fees."
  • "The licensing is based on how much data you have plus what appliances you need."
  • "The pricing is fair, and they are interested in working with MSPs as part of their market."
  • "The appliances have different prices because of storage, size, and memory. For example, the older machines support more virtual machines, whereas the new one only supports one virtual machine. As we have purchased the later appliances, they have probably been a little bit more expensive because they have to be good enough to keep the business running if the physical server goes down. We learned our lesson from the one that went down when we tried to run products and it wasn't quick enough."
  • "It is super competitive. It is worth taking a look at it from a licensing and pricing perspective."
  • "Pricing of the product could be improved. It definitely makes it a harder sell. They will usually end up getting close to the price we need, but I have to go through everybody to get the price reduced. Their list pricing is significantly higher than that of other solutions."
  • "Infrascale's pricing, to me, was outstanding and was one of the major factors in my decision to go with Infrascale... My customer had a different solution before and his monthly payment was three times as much as the payment he now has with Infrascale."
