We performed a comparison between Adaptive Insights and Oracle Hyperion based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Business Performance Management solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The important feature is integration with source data. It connects to various ERP systems, including Workday, Intact, and others. It can also import actuals and compare them to PlanPoint quite easily."
"Reports are allowed to be edited for aesthetic purposes, which is lacking in a lot of other dashboard tools."
"We utilize planning on a daily basis, therefore we find it to be the most valuable product for our organization."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its dashboard."
"The biggest feature is the source of truth for all of our budget and forecast versions."
"It's very stable."
"Automated reporting."
"Changes to corporate structure, account codes are updated in all versions including prior years, hence "one-version of truth" as claimed."
"The implementation has been simplified now that it's deployed in the cloud. Also, Hyperion is tightly integrated with Oracle products because Oracle owns it now."
"It's a very good program and it's useful for consolidation."
"Scalability isn't a problem for Hyperion."
"Since it is an enterprise-capable solution, people are not worried about security, giving data, the ability to manage complex consolidation, and its ability to modify reporting."
"It's very easy to use and the functionality is quite complete."
"The stability is fine and quite user friendly."
"It is easy to use. It is very intuitive. Even though there is a lot of functionality that comes out of the box, you can customize the solutions to meet your needs. You have the ability to have business rules that produce all kinds of calculations. We're international, and we do all our FX conversions through that."
"We have found there is excellent stability with Oracle Hyperion."
"It's a Workday product; they could do a little bit better to integrate a pure-play integration with Workday, which really doesn't do that."
"Being able to drill down when using OfficeConnect needs work."
"The upload feature exists, but isn't terribly useful."
"Adaptive Insights could improve the data designer interface to make integrations easier to set up."
"Adaptive Insights has a limit of 1,00,000 rows for HTML reports. It should be improved because we will have multiple dimensions that need to be populated to enhance the image."
"Discovery (the data visualization module): Needs to catch up with BI leaders, such as MS and Tableau. E.g., sorting by amounts in column charts and page slicers to control all visuals."
"Users continue to become more advanced and are looking for more advanced solutions."
"We tried Discovery and OfficeConnect at one point and found them too cumbersome, at the time."
"There's something known as a data block that Hyperion generates for each and every transaction. Sometimes it does not generate and we need to identify those issues and fix them manually."
"Configuration is a little complex, it's not very easy. The solution is integrated with Essbase and there are not many users of the Essbase database. If they can provide different modules for each subject area, like supply chain, for inventory forecasting or for order management forecasting, it would make each subject area easier to manage."
"It is challenging to do reporting on Oracle Hyperion if you're not an expert."
"The level of complexity of the implementation is always a challenge."
"All the planning systems out there are great. It doesn't matter which company you use. They're all great. I've seen demonstrations on a number of them, but it all boils down to the culture within the organization itself to use that functionality, understand it, and help drive it. I've had Oracle salespeople do demonstrations, and it looked really good. We get it on board, and everybody still sticks to their Excel spreadsheets because companies are a lot more complex than what you could deliver on the planning system. So, there should be more education on the capabilities, and there should be more understanding of organizations in terms of the way they access the data in order to plan."
"We are still having some issues with the ASO Cube. It can take a long time to clear the data in the ASO Cube compared to BSO data-clearing operations. We don't have a specific calculation in the ASO, and we only have these aggregate options on the ASO side. If we need calculations, we have to calculate them in the BSO and pass the data to the ASO Cube for the reporting. That's one of the drawbacks. Oracle could also improve on the data logging side as well."
"The user interface is in need of improvement. The forms should be more user-friendly."
"I would love more comment capabilities so that you could put in little notes, cheat notes."
