We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"With the help of Bot, it has increased the productivity of the current process and we do not need to spend more time on error resolution and rectification.""Its ease of use is the most valuable feature. It is easy to train developers and find the right people, then use them to build the tool.""I don't think one feature is more valuable than any other. In my opinion, the value is in the totality of the platform. It is easy to use for our developers with a well laid out UI and many canned tools. The Control Room is very easy to navigate and mostly intuitive to use.""We saw a 70 percent decrease in manual steps. If something took 10 steps to do, we are doing it in three steps today.""It is really helpful that this solution is deployed in the cloud.""It has helped us to save a lot of FTEs for our solutions that we have provided to our companies. Suppose a job which was done by a group of eight to nine people on a daily basis for 24 hours was taking a lot of time, so we created a bot with Automation Anywhere. It was done with a bot working 24/7. It reduced the numbers of guys required to do that process.""Sometimes the customer will not provide any data. Using Automation Anywhere, we can easily automate to capture the customer data. Then, we can use that customer data inside the Cisco Unified Wire Voice Portal.""Automation Anywhere helped our organization to get our training and implementation needs successful by providing both community edition and partner edition. Automation Anywhere seamlessly handed off exceptions to employees from Automation Anywhere bots."

"It is remarkably easy to configure and code, and it doesn't require an extensive technical background or coding expertise.""Scalability is fine. It is pretty nice.""Most of the details are already in the help portal and SAP notes are available. It is well documented as part of the product support.""Contextor is a good solution for a Citrix environment. It's the first with this tool. Other tools provide the same functionality, but not with the Citrix environment.""The most valuable feature of SAP Contextor is that everyone is in one place in the program that I need.""The initial setup of SAP Contextor is easy.""The standout features of SAP Intelligent RPA are its flexibility and integration capabilities."

Cons
"Citrix is only in the development stage. Automation Anywhere could put some time into improving this more.""Another feature that would be cool to see in Automation Anywhere is more use of artificial intelligence. Right now, RPA is basically limited to a bot which is simply following the instructions that it was given. However, what would be really useful is if a bot was able to more flexibly respond to issues. For example, sometimes there are erroneous errors and pop ups. With good code, you can certainly build your bots to be able to handle that. However, it does take time and a bit of technical know-how to be able to do that.""Unwanted windows are popping up. We have to train a bot to recognize the window if it comes up, know what it is, and click it. If it is interrupting our bot, I just want to avoid that window, because I am getting failed logs.""We've struggled with some of the new features Automation Anywhere added in the latest version. For example, they added a new OpenAI package, but it took a while for me to find it in the actions menu.""Now, it is a big complex to download the product and install it, then again to install the patches. So, it takes a lot of time to download it.""Automation Anywhere has to be integrated with machine learning and AI systems to read images and videos, then put the information into another format.""The solution could improve the integration with some web applications. It was difficult to manage them.""The version that we are using has been difficult for us to code. As changes are very frequent, we have to make sure the code can be updated automatically so we don't have to make a change every time a user makes a change. Then, the user doesn't have to update us and we don't have to push a change to production. We have found a workaround with the help of the Automation Anywhere support people for this."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Cons →

"There should be more of an error, like a proper error feature, in future releases. Sometimes, we don't understand why that automation is not learning what, like, where it is stuck, or what is the reason like, or what is the criteria we are missing to add. So a proper error message would be helpful.""SAP Contextor could improve by automating some processes.""For potential features or improvements, one aspect I would suggest enhancing is the flexibility of the extraction process.""I would like to see a better capacity for unstructured data, for example, PDF, or text within images.""One way SAP Intelligent RPA could improve is by integrating built-in DI services for document processing.""The initial setup is of medium complexity. It is neither too hard nor too simple. You need some background in SAP and an understanding of it.""I found that the SAP scripting of a program is easier than SAP Contextor."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
  • "Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running."
  • "Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has."
  • "They're very flexible around pricing and licensing."
  • "They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing."
  • "We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases."
  • "If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000."
  • "It's cheaper than other similar solutions."
  • More Automation Anywhere (AA) Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "This is not a tool or software with a license as others are. The SaaS model is based on the usage of the tool."
  • "The initial cost might seem higher, but over time, with continued use over five or ten years, the cost tends to decrease, making it a more economical choice."
  • "The pricing is not that expensive. It is manageable."
  • "It all comes with a bundle right now. Having advanced features, it is competitively priced."
