We performed a comparison between Dynatrace and IBM Security QRadar based on our users’ reviews in five categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Features: Dynatrace is highly regarded for its advanced AI engine and ability to identify infrastructure automatically. It also offers session replay and impressive visualization features. QRadar users say the solution provides extensive information and helpful leads for locating pertinent data. QRadar stands out with its comprehensive network visibility and strong SIEM capabilities. Some Dynatrace reviewers feel the learning curve is a little steep, and the documentation could be clearer. Users say that Dynatrace should offer more security options and improve integration with other tools. QRadar could improve its rule deployment and lower its false positive rate. Users would also like expanded storage capacity, streamlined user management, and a more mature architecture.
Service and Support: Users generally found Dynatrace's customer service to be helpful and available, but some said that the response times and documentation have room for improvement. Some QRadar customers have had trouble connecting with knowledgeable support staff and experienced delayed responses.
Ease of Deployment: Dynatrace's setup is simple, efficient, and requires minimal technical configuration. It takes a few hours at most. QRadar's initial setup can be complex for users without expertise, and the difficulty may vary depending on the size of the data set.
Pricing: Users say Dynatrace is expensive. Some noted that the licensing model is complicated and not transparent. Some said they struggled to accurately predict the number of units needed. QRadar can be costly because users need to buy new hardware to upgrade.
ROI: Dynatrace users said the solutions saved them money and reduced downtime. QRadar delivers a high return on investment, improving security through its advanced user behavior analytics.
"The most valuable function is the ability to replay a customer session."
"The visibility that it provides through the application's behavior allows us to find trends based on our customized metrics."
"It has more functionality, better additional components, and better management of problems. It also has a good AI."
"The User experience monitor is a real added value."
"It is getting to the point that the CTO of the organization knows the tool by first name and will look to have it brought up, because it is so consistent, reliable, and a cornerstone for solving problems."
"Google says is that you have a number of things on which you should measure your performance. One is if there's an error or not. Dynatrace tells you whether is an error or not. Second is saturation, whether something is getting saturated. You should be aware of what is getting saturated. Dynatrace even tells you that. The third is if there is a latency. Network latency is also told to me by Dynatrace."
"We also use it in our performance testing. We found an issue that way, and we would have put that change live without Dynatrace. Finding that problem in "live", that would have been three or four days of investigation, whereas we found the issue, fixed the issue, reran the tests, all same day."
"Its ability to correlate a large source of information to pinpoint a root cause. This speeds up issue resolution and allow us to better reach our objectives."
"The feature that I have found most valuable is its artificial intelligence component, Watson. Its contribution is pretty good from a machine-learning artificial intelligence perspective. This compliments the orchestration automation component, as well."
"There are a lot of features in QRadar. App Exchange is the most valuable feature. User behavior analytics (UBA) is also a very good feature. Watson is also there, but we are not currently using Watson. It is versatile and quite easy. It also has an all-in-one-box feature and good integration with AWS."
"Senses, tracks, and links significant incidents and threats."
"The solution is easy to use, manage, and review all incidents."
"IBM QRadar has improved my organization by introducing many functions. It collects logs from all of our systems in the organization and has functioned very well. It alerts and correlates the aggregate events or offenses we receive through all the applications we use."
"We are using the platform version, which I like."
"It is very stable. We have not faced interruptions in the past four and a half years."
"The visibility it gives you into your infrastructure has been great."
"They could have a better user interface, better automation, better support for cloud-based, and SaaS applications."
"I think they're working on even more integration from external third party input, but that is ongoing. So the faster it's there the better. Clock monitoring is one of these areas where improvements can be made."
"Searches should be faster."
"For AppMon, in order to use the rich client especially, I think you have to be somebody who is in there more often than not. It's not necessarily as intuitive as it could be."
"Configuring nodes and agents should be more like plug and play."
"Dashboarding and having different templates available for more business reporting, or even other metrics, would be useful."
"This solution could be improved with better compatibility with legacy applications."
"I would like Dynatrace to be more flexible and user-friendly."
"From a functionality point of view there are issues sometimes."
"AI is superb but need improvements."
"The playbook guide which specifies the rules for security use cases needs to be provided to support in case the organization needs help."
"The solution could improve by having more out-of-the-box use cases."
"The usability of interfaces could be improved."
"The solution lacks vendor support."
"I would like to see a more user-friendly product."
"The solution lacks some maturity."
