Helps protect data, has a straightforward setup, and is moderately priced
The solution has a lot of use cases.  In our case, it was to protect content based on keywords and typical actions like copying to external devices, printing, or taking snapshots, et cetera.  It has helped us protect our internal data from external threats. It ensures no data reaches the outside…

Seamlessly integrates with the other products in your library, but is less advanced when compared to competitors
Primarily, we've been using it for backups. We've focused on backing up volume groups and files on both Linux and Windows machines. While I'm not certain if it supports VM backups, that's where our main focus has been There was an incident that occurred at some point, and our final option was to…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Our organization's intellectual property is not misused or extracted without permission."
"The product is good and reliable. The vendor company is continually improving it and they seem to stay one step ahead."
"We don't require a lot of downtime, but when we do then we are getting proper support with no issue."
"The initial setup process went well."
"The product is user-friendly."
"Another valuable feature is that it provides integration to things like Cloud Access Security Broker, which provides security around cloud applications."
"One of the most valuable features is the set of built-in policies that Forcepoint has for PCI compliance. We just need to activate them and start working. Without them, it would be a big task to do a data transformation."
"After the configuration, it is very stable, and in the last two years, I haven't been faced with many issues or product-related challenges."
"I haven't experienced any crashes while using the solution...Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"The stability of the product seems to be quite good."
"The normal file system backup is easy to manage, and our success rate is quite high."
"It's a good product that's pretty easy to use."
"The feature that was most valuable was that we could restore one mailbox and we could do different backups for different databases."
"It is very easy to use and the interaction with various systems is very handy."
"I like that it supports HPE UNIX servers since many backup solutions do not - this is the main reason why we chose this solution."
"It is a traditional backup model. If you talk about file server and the official Windows database, it's a stable product."

Cons

"The price could be reduced to be more cost, effective."
"If you are a macOS user, there are issues in the area of USB control."
"We faced some issues with the endpoint installation of the agent as it is not from a common ground."
"The tool needs to integrate data classification."
"I would like to see the product extended into the cloud as a single solution."
"The reporting features, the real-time reporting, can be improved in Forcepoint. On the dashboard, we don't have a feature that shows real-time incidents. We have to schedule a report in the environment."
"I would like to see improvement in the reporting. We can only get one week's worth of data; we can't get more than that. Also, the reporting console is very slow, making it very frustrating to use."
"They can improve a bit in the OCR category. The OCR deployment could be simplified. Right now, you have to set up a separate server to manage all the data going through the network, especially the images. Forcepoint could better integrate the OCR component with central management."
"We're not satisfied with the robustness and stability of the software since Micro Focus took it in-house. The GUI is one thing they could improve. It's still a bit archaic. Data Protector needs a more functional, user-friendly GUI."
"Micro Focus are improving Data Protector with every new version and since we began undergoing training with the latest version we have not faced any real challenges yet. However, their support does need to be improved, in my opinion. In certain critical cases that we've had, they did not provide a satisfactory level of support."
"It has a lot of undeveloped functions like window searching and patent searching, and within the main backup processes like VMware and Microsoft Exchange. It's completely not user-friendly, and it has no built-in antivirus software. In my opinion, Micro Focus Data Protector is not an enterprise level solution."
"VM backups needs to be improved. They need to make it similar to the way Veeam and Commvault are doing the virtual backups."
"We have so many specific technological cracks in Micro Focus, but we are not getting the features, facilities, or coordination between the global delivery centers and the R&D team that we need to express our ideas."
"Other tools seem to be easier to use."
"It can occasionally be inaccurate in its backup/recovery time estimates."
"The online backups of Office 365 have room for improvement. This is now available for the Exchange Online part of Office 365, but we're still waiting for SharePoint Online, Teams, etc. We know that it's coming, but it takes time."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"They are flexible regarding the pricing and they have a good model for an OEM data classification tool... Forcepoint has been one of the most competitively priced products over the last few years."
"Forcepoint has been very cost-effective because they gave us a good deal while procuring the DLP solution."
"I rate the tool's pricing a six out of ten."
"The licensing of Forcepoint is quite straightforward. It's based on the number of users. The support fees are a separate cost."
"The pricing and licensing are okay."
"The solution is expensive."
"The pricing and licensing fees could be improved."
"Pricing for this solution could be better."
"The licensing cost is too high."
"The pricing is neither too expensive nor very cheap."
"Pricing for Micro Focus Data Protector is reasonable."
"The licensing structure provides cost savings to business."
"The product is cheaper than Commvault."
"Avoid using many LTO drives; when using fewer drives, the price will be extremely good."
"The pricing is acceptable for enterprise level companies, but it's not acceptable for small- and medium-sized businesses. Micro Focus Data Protector is not an enterprise level solution, and it should cover small- and medium-sized businesses with acceptable prices."
"The license for the solution is very expensive compared to the other products in the market."
