Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"FortiSIEM sends an email or SMS notifications to admins when there are significant incidents. It's a highly efficient way of responding to incidents.""The product's initial setup phase was easy.""There are things like dashboards and reports (pre-configured and custom) that let me know that things are operating the way they should be, and when they are not.""One of the most valuable features is that we can combine SOC and NOC operations in the same tool. We can provide NOC and SOC services in the same tool for two separate teams. There are plenty of third-party solutions that integrate with FortiSIEM. All these solutions already have a ready integration, and we have the possibility to create a custom connector for these solutions. Its reports are also very good.""FortiSIEM's best features are the dashboards and customization.""It's easy to manage. There's a web interface and a command line, depending on what the user is comfortable with. There's a large knowledge base available, and the support is timely.""FortiSIEM's log correlation is good.""Some of our customers who use this solution have seen improvement in their connection with load balancing on both connections."

"The most valuable features of Logsign SIEM are its cloud capabilities, alerting functionality, integration with Elastic Search, and configuration options.""Logsign provides sample logs within the product, allowing users to see how logs will appear before integration, which is a valuable feature for testing and understanding log formats."

Cons
"Patching is not great - we're not getting the support we'd expect.""It's difficult to integrate unsupported devices with FortiSIEM compared to QRadar. It's easier to integrate and develop processes in QRadar. It's harder to develop a custom process in FortiSIEM.""The product does not have Security Orchestration and Automation Response, I would recommend adding this feature.""There could be more AI features included in the product.""The solution's interface could be modernized and improved.""When our team tried configuring logs for Microsoft SQL, it did not work.""They could work on their documentation. If there's anything about the solution that needs improvement, it's that. For example, documentation already is on a very high level but specifically on the CLI there are tons of features which can be fine-tuned and thousands of commands are very difficult to document. If they could make this easier, it would improve the overall solution.""I would like to see more integration with other platforms."

"I hope they address the pricing model for Logsign Next-Gen SIEM, especially regarding regional variations. The pricing should not differ based on the country of operation as it can lead to dissatisfaction among customers. A fixed pricing structure would be more favorable for us. I would also suggest enhancing the GUI interface and adding features similar to xFi Exchange from IBM Pure. This would streamline operations and save time for analysts.""Improvements needed in Logsign SIEM are providing specific security alerts that can be filtered and configured more effectively."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Please be cheaper and more simplified."
  • "We bought the perpetual license, so we own the product, but there is a three-year support renewal fee for that."
  • "Pricing is acceptable for more than 90% of our customers, as they normally get discounts."
  • "Its price can be better. We are Fortinet partners, so we can get discounts, but its price can be an issue at the beginning for others. There is a licensing scheme for every case. There are three licensing schemes that we can choose from."
  • "The price of Fortinet FortiSIEM is a lot less when compared to other solutions."
  • "They have a yearly subscription."
  • "The solution is available for both, perpetual and subscription licenses."
  • "Manageable, however would be better as pay as you go versus CapEX."
