We performed a comparison between IBM DataPower Gateway and IBM Integration Bus based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."It can look for the various security threats, productions, payload scanning, and perform routing based on the content type."
"It is easy to use, easy to install, and it's resilient for high availability."
"The performance is good. It's been very stable."
"The solution is stable."
"The API Connect gateway service and the SQL injection feature is good."
"The solution is scalable, our customers are mostly South African banks and they handle mostly transactions with this solution."
"The solution is straightforward and for large organizations, it functions well."
"The solution is very easy to work with."
"I have found the inbound and outbound adapter confirmations valuable."
"The features I have found most valuable in this solution are transformation and routing."
"IBM Integration Bus has been effective in facilitating our messaging and service-oriented architecture (SOA) or bus architecture. So, we're already utilizing it to transform the data from the source it's sending. It converts the data from the format the source sends it into the format the destination system requires. So we are transforming the messages, which are required by the destination system; that's the one way."
"It makes the communication between multiple and heterogeneous applications so easy. We can bring together different messages and applications from different platforms and connect them through IBM Integration Bus."
"I consider the solution to be one of the most stable in the market."
"The most valuable feature is that it is clear and easy to learn."
"REST API design and development support are useful. Building and exposing APIs using GUI API designer with editor makes implementation a breeze."
"The solution addresses all of our middleware needs in respect of transformation, parsing, security and stability; everything really."
"I would like the tool to improve its training."
"Some pre-packaged connectors for integration with various applications, such as SaaS offerings, would be a useful addition."
"The solution requires a lot of training manuals in order to get to know it better and to be able to use it effectively."
"They should improve the solution's clustering features."
"Its support services could be better."
"The two biggest issues of this solution are the complexity and the maintenance procedures."
"In the next release, I would like to see the product price reduced. It should be cheaper."
"We are always looking for more features wherein it could be easily integrated with cloud applications. We are looking for either a cloud solution or a cloud integration option."
"We have come across many customer complaints about the excessive time it takes for IBM to provide customer and technical support."
"I would like to be able to build an Integration Bus cluster that is active-active."
"The price could be better. It would also be better if they simplified the code."
"I would like to see more metered rest and API support. IBM is already working on it on Version 11, but it still needs improvement."
"It needs improvement in terms of technical support as well as in terms of integration of data mining. I am not convinced about many things in this solution, such as the conversion of the DFDL or copybook file, which is the conversion from a text file to XML. It is very complex. They should also provide more information about this solution in the IBM Knowledge Center. I can get a lot of information from the IBM Knowledge Center about DataStage, but I don't get that much information about IBM Integration Bus. There is hardly any information even on the internet and various channels such as YouTube. They can provide good step-by-step documentation based on a company's requirements. It would be really helpful. My company is mainly looking for data mining and communicating with multiple servers. IBM Integration Bus is good for communicating with multiple servers, but it needs improvement for XML conversion and data mining. We have a lot of old systems that use XML."
"I can't say that there is any improvement I’m looking for. I’m new and haven’t connected with all features. For all drawbacks that were in the old version, I think they have been solved. The scalability needs improvement."
"The solution needs instruction or guidance."
"Migrating to this solution is complex and it would be helpful if they had a way to convert existing integrations."
