An effective auditing solution that scours your AD and produces easy-to-understand logs
I have used the solution across three different jobs. At Canadian School, I improved operations by implementing audit automations that allowed me to understand changes in the AD. I also utilized the self-service password portal so users could conduct resets without needing IT tickets. Video feedback about this use case was provided to ManageEngine and is still posted on their YouTube. At Cognita, I managed ten international schools from Singapore to Australia where I rolled out the solution's audit features and self-service password portal. I did not include the ticketing system in rollout as there was one already in place. In my current role at FMCG, I rolled out the audit feature but not the self-service password portal. We use the on-premises solution but link it to our Azure AD for cloud services.

"The product helps to validate every activity."
"The most valuable feature is the dashboard. They allow me to see everything in real-time and drill down and pick and choose versus running scripts."
"The solution offers very good reports for management purposes."
"It's useful in bringing order to the system."
"The solution is easy to install and has good reliability."
"The scalability of the solution is high...The initial setup of the solution is easy, and I would rate it an eight or nine out of ten on a scale of one to ten, where one being difficult and ten being easy."
"It is easy to understand all the components."
"The ability for a single sign-on for applications."
"I think the main reason we are using Active Directory for SSO Office for single time and for intake integrity capability to other services."
"The product is very stable and flexible. You can also integrate the solution with other products like mail solutions."
"Active Directory is more flexible and feature-rich than Apache."

Cons

"Other products have more flexibility and integration in managing identities."
"The solution should be made tablet friendly because it works well on iPhones and Android phones, but does not work on tablets."
"It would be nice if the solution offered some sort of brochure with some high-level information that would help sell it to management. If they had details around how much time it saves an engineer, for example, to show the ROI, it would be helpful."
"This solution is not stable, it wasted my time."
"The solution is very complex, especially when there's an active directory of more than 1,000 users, which makes it hard to administrate. They need to improve the management of the administrative process."
"API integrations are not supported for all HR tools."
"Lacks sufficient integration with management tools."
"There is room for improvement in support, they should work on overall competence and turn-around time."
"The security features could be improved."
"Could use more structure in the cloud version."
"We may occasionally experience difficulty integrating some solutions with Microsoft Active Directory, but I am unsure whether the issue lies with Microsoft Active Directory or the other solution."
"The interface for logs should be user-friendly and allow for enhanced filtering to drill down to incidents."
"The product's premium support services could be less expensive."
"Typically, it depends on the customer's situation. If the customer operates in smaller locations where most PCs are in a common location, we usually aim to consolidate the directory infrastructure for easier maintenance. However, for distributed setups spanning multiple countries, configuring multiple sites becomes necessary and more intricate to handle. Our objective is to minimize the number of sites, simplifying operations for IT administrators and reducing errors. Mistakes in Active Directory can be costly for organizations, as disruptions can occur rapidly. Moreover, when it comes to hybrid single sign-on across various applications, Microsoft hasn't put forth significant effort. Single sign-on has become a challenge for many customers who utilize diverse solutions beyond Microsoft products. While implementing single sign-on is relatively straightforward in the Azure cloud, it's considerably more complex when dealing with the local Active Directory. This presents a big challenge for many of our customers."
"The solution's price could be better."
"There are no reporting features."
