We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The biggest advantage of Azure File Storage vis-à-vis other public cloud storage providers, and why we recommend Azure first and foremost, is that many of our customers have partnerships with Microsoft and so they have access to better cloud economics. Compared to AWS, we have found that (from a customer perspective) Azure is much more competitive.""The solution can scale to fit any requirement.""The solution is user-friendly and integrates easily with web apps.""The immutable storage features are valuable.""The storage in this solution is excellent.""Its most valuable features are speed and security.""First of all, the solution is very secure. Secondly, the solution is very fast. It is reliable and available all the time.""It helps us with geo-redundancy."

"The scalability, ease of use, and technical support are the most valuable features of Nutanix Unified Storage.""We have been able to save local disk space by using Data Lens. We upload 18 GB to the cloud and are able to save 20% to 25%.""The most important point is the simplicity of the API integration. We can leverage the API integrations and connect our hybrid-cloud network environment with Nutanix's cloud storage.""Nutanix's analytics provide better insights into all of our files.""Nutanix Unified Storage is easy to use. New employees are able to come up to speed fairly quickly with regard to the day-to-day administration processes.""The real-time alerts generated by this system enable us to swiftly address and mitigate such threats.""Nutanix Volumes is a perfectly stable product.""The most valuable feature is the unified dashboard, as it allows us to easily observe everything from a single location."

Cons
"Sometimes it takes very long to refresh the information.""I have had issues migrating my data to another subscription.""One thing that Azure File Storage could help us with is some kind of impact assessment. When we talk to some of our larger customers who have between 500 and 1,000 applications, we normally do an assessment of all these applications and then tell them which ones are ready to be lifted and shifted, and which ones need to re-architected. It would really help if Azure File Storage could come up with a better way to give estimations of the total investment required, including all costs incurred during the migration.""The initial setup is complex. Unless you have done it a few times it, it is going to be hard.""The security could always be modernized.""There is room for improvement in helping customers understand and integrate Azure File Storage into their operations.""The product’s pricing could be better.""Microsoft Azure File Storage needs more integrations. In the future, I also want to see GRC added to the portal. If you enroll or sign up for Azure services, your country may not have GRC available in the portal, so you may have to choose a strange country, for example, Kenya, to activate credit."

"The solution is very expensive.""The GUI is not user-friendly for new users and has room for improvement.""The management is pretty clunky, in my opinion. It could be a little bit better.""Customer service is more difficult to call and they do not responding as much as, for example, DataCore. It's not the same level of satisfaction compared to DataCore. Responses could be faster.""The interface could be improved.""Improving quota policies would be advantageous, particularly by offering the option to implement blocking instead of just issuing warnings.""I would like to see the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. That could definitely be a major breakthrough in providing a unified, seamless experience for end-users. It could reduce costs as well as human effort.""With all of the Nutanix equipment, the licensing is expensive. We operate in the enterprise space, but we're a midsized company. At times, the price tag is a little bit shocking for a company with only 35 employees."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "For one terabyte of data, we are spending about 150 Euro every month."
  • "One of the major benefits for AWS is that they have a very large customer representative base where clients can be picked from, they offer large discounts and credit. We were not able to receive the same kind of offers from Microsoft Azure File Storage. We tried to approach Azure while hiring for our disaster recovery discussion, but we didn't receive anything from Azure."
  • "The price is comparable to other competitive solutions."
  • "There are fewer hidden costs involved compared to other solutions, and when our customer is already a Microsoft partner, they typically have access to more affordable fees."
  • "Microsoft Azure File Storage has a reasonable price."
  • "I give the pricing of the solution a seven out of ten."
  • "One needs to pay according to the storage they plan to use in the solution. The payments are to be made yearly. It is usually monthly, but we opted for yearly subscriptions in our company."
  • "Microsoft Azure File Storage is expensive."

  • "The price of the license is expensive when comparing it to traditional storage."
  • "I find Nutanix Files Storage competitively priced, even its feature set. Its price is seven out of ten."
  • "If we compare the cost of Nutanix Objects Storage to other solutions such as VMware licenses, our current choice is Nutanix Objects Storage. This solution is more cost-effective. However, adding VMware to Nutanix would not be a cost-efficient decision, which is why we do not use it anymore."
  • "It is quite expensive otherwise as it comes with three-tier peer underlying hardware."
  • "For clients running Nutanix, the licensing cost for Files is a small add-on cost."
  • "With all of the Nutanix equipment, the licensing is expensive. We operate in the enterprise space, but we're a midsized company. At times, the price tag is a little bit shocking for a company with only 35 employees. We're not a Fortune 500 company, but we deal with Fortune 500 drug and energy companies. We have to play in that enterprise space if we're going to have enterprise customers. I'm very price-conscious, but I understand that if I want the best, I've got to pay the price."
  • "It's not the cheapest solution. It's in line with other solutions, but it offers features that the competitors don't have at any price point, especially with regard to analytics and ransomware prevention. No one else has any sort of object-based storage available. Nutanix Unified Storage is a lot more feature-rich. This is a situation where you get what you pay for."
  • "The product is pricey."
