Good monitoring, reduces costs, and helps with compliance
The location of the product is important. So far, there is no version that supports Polish. If such a version existed, many customers in our region would decide to purchase and implement this solution. The graphical interface could be improved. Real-time replication allows you to instantly send data to a secondary site to create an exact copy of virtual machines (VMs) and continuously update that copy as changes are made to the original VM. It's in beta, and there's no word on when the release version will be available. This is an important functionality that allows you to ensure business continuity by activating the replica in the event of a failure.

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has an application backup, a file backup, a system backup and a hypervisor."
"I like the core backup feature. I also like the file server backup feature. I find Microsoft DPM interesting because it has fantastic integration with Microsoft products. For example, in Exchange and SharePoint, DPM is excellent when it comes to backing up data. It also does a decent job with open-source products."
"The initial setup is quite straightforward."
"It is almost perfect for Microsoft products. It is not a very powerful tool, but it is okay for small sites and small businesses with Microsoft products. It is easy to use for backup and restore. It is good for backing up Microsoft servers such as Exchange and SharePoint servers."
"The most valuable feature is the recovery."
"The most important feature is that it's easy to use."
"I could back up all the stuff we had, even the VMs we have for Hyper V."
"The automated procedure is quite good for us, as it is able to capture all of the information that we require."
"This product provides cost-efficient and reliable backups."
"The user interface is good, and it's user-friendly. I also like its usability with hyper-convergence products like Nutanix and others in the data infrastructure."
"The implementation of Nakivo made it possible to implement the information security policies currently in force in the company and to meet the statutory requirements in the field of IT security."
"Nakivo's reporting features have helped a lot. They give my boss high visibility into what's going on, which is crucial because we had a data breach in the past where we lost about 12 years of data. That's why we bought several appliances, and we replicate the same backup twice a day to three different depositories."
"The user interface in general is very good. I"
"The initial setup is very straightforward."
"We have found all the features of Nakivo to be useful and the solution is easier to use compared to Proxmox. It is user-friendly, we are very satisfied."
"They reply immediately to any query raised from us as a technician or consultant and they know the pulse of the market and keep updating the features in such a big way."

Cons

"We can't take a snapshot and take it outside, which is a problem."
"You have only a few settings and if you change them for some special configurations, it's very difficult."
"There is a very poor online user community in terms of people blogging about their experiences with DPM."
"The data tagging feature needs improvement. The solution could be a bit more intuitive in certain aspects."
"Additional Hyper-V knowledge would be great."
"The user friendliness could be improved."
"Microsoft DPM could improve if it was available in a public or private cloud."
"It would be better if it integrated seamlessly with open source and competitor products. In the next release, I would like to see some data governance frameworks. It should have support features for data integration and data replication like Veeam. Right now, we are also using Veeam for certain scenarios."
"There are some errors requiring support to correct and bugs and glitches should be addressed."
"It could be a little bit faster in terms of backup and offer more reliable SQL server backups."
"In terms of what could be improved for the next release, I would probably answer better documentation and licensing models."
"It would be helpful to be able to have a custom footprint so that only the required features are installed."
"I would love to see compatibility with KVM Backup."
"Personally, I would like to have the ability to backup older legacy systems on the new versions as well."
"The first implementation is a bit difficult but once is up and running is rock solid and extremely easy to manage."
"Log and report creation can be improved."
