Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature in Orchestrator is that it stores the credentials in a safe way.""The stability so far has been good.""I really like that I am able to tell the story, using Orchestrator, how humans work, how bots work, and how humans and bots work together.""Their core platform of Studio is valuable. The ease of use and the ability to build these automations quickly is definitely a highlight for us. Our average process from start to finish takes three to four weeks. We can knock out automations as quickly as we can identify them. That is probably the best feature I see.""The solution has improved our organization, specifically around all the operational aspects of the bot. Once we deploy them through the orchestrator we use insights to see how the bots are performing, what errors are referring, and just the general health insights would be the biggest lift that we've gotten out of the solution. Building the automation is a little bit easier and quicker on the platform than where we were at before.""The unintended robots are very useful. Just letting it run and having visibility, and controlling how everything works is definitely helpful.""The use of AI has freed up time and resources for other tasks in our company. We are a little bit more of an ad hoc approach right now. I just finished up a new cross-set of processes about two weeks ago that allowed us to onboard a client. I wouldn't have been able to without this automation. It would have taken a couple of months of several people's time to get them to get all this work done in the back end.""In UiPath, REFramework is useful for different use cases with predefined code templates. There are well-established steps. There is a step for code marginalization. Similarly, there are separate steps for initialization and processing. For closing an application process, a step is there. So, it is very well modularized for getting the transaction data. If there is one exception or anything wrong happens with an application, it will log the exception in the orchestrator and send an email. It can also close your applications and end data processing. So, everything is well organized and separated, and we can log the exceptions separately in the queues as business exceptions or application exceptions. We can have the complete report of a particular queue."

"The Control Tower enables us to create and use workflows. It helps us run processes. There are a lot of small features, but the Control Tower is a very good feature, wherein we can create bots and schedule them as well as create different instances of them to run in different regions.""WorkFusion helps by speeding up processes. The process takes time. It has business costs associated because there are people waiting to take the next steps in the process. The end result of waiting, whether it is an internal or external team, is that they are delayed. Therefore, it helps us in speeding up business processes and improving employee morale, as people don't have to do repetitive work anymore.""We need to analyze documents in order to understand them. We don't need to dedicate much time to this because WorkFusion's machine learning capabilities are very good. We can easily extract information and classify these documents. The document processing engine is very important to our organization because it is the center for many use cases, as we need to control the information contained in documents.""OCR, document processing, is one of the main features of WorkFusion. It can analyze your documents very efficiently. The accuracy is close to 90 percent. It can analyze and extract data from any document to populate or update it in other sources, like Excel or Google Sheets.""For automating mundane activities, I can recommend WorkFusion.""WorkFusion's RPA Express's ability to scale across multiple geographies with limited impact on additional IT Hardware requirements. This has enabled the scaling of Robotics capabilities and solutions across all our entities.""The cognitive features of this solution are good.""It's a pretty robust product."

Cons
"UiPath should add support for more programming languages, such as Python, in addition to VBScript, to help developers with their coding.""UiPath needs to improve the selector and offer better integration for Python.""The pricing of particularly on the bot licenses is placed to maximize revenue forUiPath and is not in the best interests of the customer. For example, if I have 150 robots, our utilization of that is about 27% as my demands come in spikes. Most of the robots sit there doing nothing, and I paid for them.""It should have better integration with Microsoft applications such as Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, etc. Power Automate is better for communicating with Microsoft Office applications. With UiPath, we have some difficulty communicating with the Microsoft Office applications. This is the only weakness that I have come across.""I would like to see them integrate with generative AI like ChatGPT.""If a bot is going to save four to six onshore resources, at least one offshore resource is needed to support it... A lot of bots are highly sensitive. Even the slightest change in screen behavior or a small change in the process and, many times, they are not intelligent enough to run on their own. That means there is a high dependence on the support team. Automation software providers need to improve on this.""You can't write small snippets of code. If you want to do a single code snippet, this is not available by default.""I would like to see higher end AI type features natively in UiPath. Some native integration over time would help."

More UiPath Cons →

"There is enhanced functionality I would like to see, things that would further enhance the user experience, deliver greater efficiencies, and further mitigate risk.""The user experience could be better both from an RPA perspective and from a business perspective.""The most common issue we have is with the OCR, but that also depends on the quality of the documents your scanning. Still, I would say the OCR is comparable to other solutions. I wouldn't say it's better or worse than other OCR engines.""The problem with the solution is that it is agnostic, so it's not made for banks. Sometimes we are challenged because of this. We have to make everything from scratch to make it work for our clients.""This is a Java-based application that takes up a lot of space and when it runs, consumes a lot of memory. This affects the reliability because it gets to a point where it hangs.""It should integrate with more ERP solutions like SAP. It doesn't currently have that ability.""I would like it if they provided a more detailed roadmap in terms of where they are going with the product. As we are trying to make decisions about the things that we are going to do to try to augment our capabilities, we could know whether they are thinking about the same things or not.""The product needs to be "simple and easy" to use. A good example of this is the use of Python code to perform automations. It is free and the skills transfer is able to happen quickly and the operation and initiation of the completed automation is easy to execute."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It costs much less and it does much more than the competitors' solutions."
  • "The pricing differs on the requirements. If there is a huge purchase, then we get a discount. There is not a fixed pricing of the product."
  • "If you want to do a demo trial, it is a 30 days free."
  • "The community edition is completely free. Then, people say, "There is nothing to lose, let me try it.""
  • "There are operational benefits in terms of time savings and user satisfaction of not having to do menial, repetitive tasks."
  • "Traditionally, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism are the biggest things competing against UiPath. Those are usually what most of the clients lean towards, if they see a cheaper licensing option. Clients choose UiPath because it's easier to deploy and learn within their teams."
  • "We saw ROI in 15 days."
  • "They give it away in the community edition for free, so I use it at home."
  • More UiPath Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Find it online."
  • "They have a very expensive license compared to any other automation tool. For instance, at $50,000 - $60,000, you can bring in an Automation Anywhere solution. For this solution, you need at least $250,000 to get something going."
  • "It is not the most expensive solution, but it is also not the cheapest."
  • "I can't speak to pricing. It's a contract signed by upper management."
  • "We are on an annual contract to use the solution."
  • "My client is using RPA Express, which is available for them to use free of charge."
  • "One upgrade took a year to do, from the first server being built to the last bot being migrated. This was because we had to migrate all our existing bots. This is the same process and time frame that we are expecting towards the upcoming upgrade. I will end up spending half a million dollars to do an upgrade."
  • "The solution was not the cheapest, but it was also not the most expensive. Workfusion was very open to negotiating pricing and to working within the objectives of our firm."
