We performed a comparison between Automation Anywhere (AA) and Blue Prism based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."We have been able to reduce the amount of repetitive tasks completed by operations, allowing individuals to move onto tasks which cannot yet be automated."
"Other products are more low-code, whereas Automation Anywhere is no-code making it easier to learn and user-friendly."
"With the help of these features, we can automatically fetch data from invoices and websites, which is followed by the automated data entry into the webpage and ERP system."
"The tech support for Automation Anywhere has been really good, so far. We haven't had to call them very much, but when we have, we have received a good response."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to transform data into clusters."
"I like Automation Anywhere's document automation. It can distill or scan documents and convert the information into a structured format."
"We are making less mistakes and have more metrics available to understand what our problems are. Now, we can do root cause analysis and have less noise in the system during the process."
"We've been using a lot of object cloning and screen scraping, but we've also had success with: inbuilt email functionality, some integrations to incorporate heterogeneous systems like Python scripting, etc."
"The most valuable improvement in utilizing process automation is the cost savings, but we have also had cases where the customer experience is enhanced."
"The performance is very good and it is a valuable feature."
"The solution is way more efficient for debugging than other tools."
"It is not just for coders, as you can have a diagrammatic representation of the process."
"It's quite easy to use and easy to understand the process studio."
"I like the error handling, it's very good."
"Blue Prism provides both on-premises and cloud versions."
"Access to the SQL database allows for extra capabilities."
"The biggest issue was that the new license required upgraded hardware infrastructure so we were getting all new tech stuff procured which meant that we were getting updated RAMs and things like that. Getting the licenses was easier but building the infrastructure which was required to support the new version was difficult."
"We have been looking at processes which can easily transition into a large scale environment, where you can have cloud or hybrid model. However, being a bank, some of our processes are critical and we would like to hold those on-premise. This limits us with our usage of Automation Anywhere."
"The data migration could be better."
"They need to improve the speed. It runs too slowly."
"I would like to use VB.NET native code inside of Automation Anywhere."
"I would like to have a bot as a service platform on AA Cloud. This would minimize the installation process, and we wouldn't need to have all the hardware to support the platform in-house."
"It would be helpful if we could start running a process from a particular step."
"The scheduling is a little difficult at times. Rather than setting up individual instances, it would be really nice if we had the ability to set repetitive jobs easily. Right now, if you want a job to run every 15 minutes, you have to schedule it a lot of times. I'd rather have the ability to just say 'run every 15 minutes.'"
"In the next release of this solution, I would like to see support for attended robots."
"We would like to have something, not particularly within the tool, that gives flexibility to the end-users to schedule the bots themselves. There should be some kind of control room flexibility so that they can go in. We don't have to always keep that centralized with us. We would also like to have inbuilt scheduling and resource pooling to distribute the bots on servers from within the platform. I should be able to distribute or orchestrate them internally so that if one bot takes a little longer than planned, it automatically shifts to another server. We would also like its price to be lower."
"It lacks integration with proper AI, and it is a very complex tool to use in general."
"Developing is more time consuming than with other products."
"The domain in regards to cognitive abilities and the use of processing activity needs improvement. They have added this capability, but that's not really big in the public. It is more also available for gold partners. So they should improve the user activity for the public or even the regular customer."
"Its front end is not very good for things like screen scraping. UiPath and AA are very good for that. Blue Prism's license is costlier than UiPath and AA. They should be improving its price. Its artificial intelligence and cognitive features are not that strong enough. Cognitive automation should be their next area of improvement. The decoding of the bot is a highly painful activity, and this is an area of improvement for Blue Prism. It is tough to find variables and get the code in place. You have to open the whole bonnet of the car to get things in place. Their training should also be improved. UiPath and AA have their learning communities. They provide free of cost basic certification. As a result, you get trained workforce in the market that can directly work on projects, but this is not the case with Blue Prism. It is costly to get the resources trained, which increases the overall cost of getting a resource for Blue Prism. Their tech support can also be improved. Many times, the issues that should have been addressed by L1 have gone to L2."
"If this solution had a framework for exception handling then it would be very helpful."
"Its pricing is sometimes higher. Its price can be better. Its presale support should be increased. Currently, its presale support is very less. System integrators generally position Blue Prism in front of customers. Though they have an ecosystem, they don't have people who can train for the partner ecosystem. They have to increase the presales consultants for partners. In addition, their L1 and L2 support can also be improved."

For any RPA tool it required have a generic /universal governance model where
1. sponsor or Head of RPA implementation
2. Business analysts
3.Architects(solution/technical)
4.Developers ( Full stack - Build, Test and SIT)
5.Scrum master or Sprints head or Project manager
6. QA ( Test automation) - optional
Above generic governance model/structure roles for handling any kind of RPA process.
One proven way to implement centralized automation management is via a CoE. The best practices of Robotic Process Automation states that the use of bots doesn’t increase negative risks for the organization in the development of reusable solutions. The responsibilities of a Centre of Excellence will depend on the exact governance model used. The most common activities include the following:
Business Continuity Requirements:
To have backup or disaster recovery machines for the critical RPA processes with load balancing using central orchestration in different clusters.
For any of the RPA there is orchestration tool which handles all the initiation and processing from one location have it maintained well from risks and disasters with load balancing.
This will helps in business continuity.
