Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Easy to use.""It has a useful device management feature.""Its direct integration with all the other products that we have from Microsoft is valuable. We're using the E5 license, and we have a whole wealth of different products available. It just makes it easier to have everything from one provider.""The mobile application management, MAM, is the most useful aspect of the solution.""The solution appears to be stable and scalable.""A great solution for anyone wanting a modern endpoint device management solution.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune is having all our devices compliant with our policies.""Conditional access has helped us tailor and enforce our security policies in the mobile space."

"Among the most important improvements is the ability to set up different groups with different deployment policies.""It has all of the features that we need to use and that we want to use.""The product offers integration capabilities with third-party solutions.""Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""The most valuable features of VMware Workspace ONE are security and having support for all the latest features that are coming out from Apple. They're pretty fast at adopting new features. This is one of the most vital aspects of mobile device management systems.""The initial setup is easy and the deployment doesn't take too long.""Good device management and good integration with third parties.""It is easy to start something and work from scratch."

Cons
"The security features should be improved.""There is room for improvement in integrating additional features such as Purview and SharePoint activities into Intune.""The solution could be improved by the opportunity to connect third-party application databases, such as Chocolatey or another setup store, to Intune.""The add-ons must be integrated into the solution.""They should make it easier to order it, however, that's generally true for everything from Microsoft.""I would like to see micro VPN. I like the way that some of the other providers have done something similar where, as you open that app on an end-point device, it creates a micro VPN straight into your device, which is quite a nice little feature. Also, Microsoft Intune relies heavily on its fellow products in the suite. It would be nice if Microsoft Intune could stand on its own two feet.""They could also make it easier to use because there are some other products that may be easier to use in terms of the look and feel of the dashboard.""We faced issues with macOS support. The product should have better inventory and asset management."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"VMware Workspace ONE platform offers support for Mac Books and we see that there is some room for improvement in that area versus all the products out there.""The integration on the application side could improve.""One of the things that I want them to improve on, if possible, is the management of Mac devices, MacBook Pro, for example. They do it, but they have scope for improvement, in my opinion. It's not that it's that bad, it just a small need.""I'd like to see expanded device support, particularly for IoT things like SCADA devices.""The console comes bunched together as a package and inbuilt. Its called Workspace ONE. Whenever we have an issue, we contact the service provider, and instead of a fix, we are just getting the next version of Workspace ONE.""VMware Workspace ONE can improve in virtual reality. Customers are now looking toward virtual reality devices. Though it supports virtual reality, it's treated as an Android device. Customers want to deal with VR devices, they want a specific VR tool. Not an Android device VR tool.""The initial setup should be simplified.""I prefer to work with Jamf Pro because it is more specific to working with the iPad features."

  • "You should take out a dedicated license agreement of your MDM fleet and invest heavily in innovating in this space."

  • "The pricing and licensing are affordable. They are not too high."

If you are only using Windows, it will be a great decision. However, if you are using Mac and Linux you will still need WS1 /JAMF or any other MDM solutions. Intune has extensive capacities on Windows but limited capabilities on MAC.

    My suggestion will be

     MAC - WS1/JAMF

     Windows : Intune

Compliance check: Intune for the entire fleet. This will allow you to leverage the conditional access capabilities of Azure AD.

First of all, what is WS1? I think you should have Intune now as part of your E3 subscription (not sure of it, so please check your billing menu). Intune gives you a lot of flexibility to set rules to deploy to systems.

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below is some feedback from our PeerSpot users who are currently using the solution:

PeerSpot user Patrick B., Cybersecurity Architect at a tech services company, says, "Its UI is extremely easy to use whether you're an advanced user or a novice user. When I first opened it up and had to learn the product, I was easily a novice. By the end of the third month, I was digging into the backend of the system and using it as a highly advanced user to accomplish what I needed to accomplish, and I was able to do it through the UI mostly."

Roshan T., Partner Manager North America at a tech company, mentions how satisfied he is with the product, saying, "You can put all your applications on a mobile device, be it a phone or tablet. It is secure and easy to use. Because it is centrally managed, you don't have to do any configuration on the phone. I just got the phone and connected to the central applications. I just downloaded one thing and everything got rolled out. Email, calendar, and other things were deployed centrally. If you don't have AirWatch, you have to configure your phone manually. For example, you need to deploy and configure your email manually and then synchronize everything. It is much simpler when a mobile device is centrally managed."
