Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It provides a well-centered database that is feature rich.""The solution has strong financial models and a strong database.""The most valuable features of the Oracle E-Business Suite are best practices, built-in processes, and easy configuration. Plenty of system functionality and customization.""If I want to manage many parts of my organization, such as finances, proceedings, or supply chain I would typically need to buy many different solutions. However, with Oracle E-Business Suite, it is all that is needed. This ERP system has many modules.""The new Subledger Accounting feature is very strong.""It is a very consistent product on IBM. There is also a lot of knowledge data.""Its drag-and-drop features make data distribution a breeze.""The most valuable features of Oracle E-Business Suite are all the 15 to 20 modules. We use them on a day-to-day basis."

"The fact that I can see the whole HR information in a single point is valuable. There is a unified view of everything, which is good. Previously, we had many different systems for each part of the information. Now, it is all centralized. It is very good.""It is much easier to use and the customer service is better than our previous solution.""It enables us to manage the system ourselves. We don't need an additional team to do a lot of maintenance and add the things that we want.""The most valuable feature is being able to get time management reports which break out reclassified jobs and departments to separate areas of the company. This allows for better tracking of hours spent in certain jobs and where more hours may be needed.""The solution has improved our organization by helping us cut hours and lessen our labor force. It saved us probably over $100,000 in just the last couple of years.""The employee self-service feature is most valuable. This is the restaurant industry, and they have a mobile app that allows employees to go in and manage their data. So, employees can manage direct deposit accounts, emergency contacts, and other things in the app. That's definitely the biggest benefit.""I like UKG's integration.""The tool improved employee onboarding efficiency, especially in healthcare, where timely onboarding is crucial. This change directly impacted retention rates positively. It was a massive project that involved various teams working together. It took about a year to revamp the entire process and ensure compliance. However, once implemented, it improved employee satisfaction by saving them two whole days in the onboarding process."

Cons
"From the business processes, there are areas where you could streamline new processes.""It is on the expensive side.""The initial setup is complex.""Oracle E-Business Suite's stability could be improved as they have a lot of bugs that need to be fixed.""Improving the reporting and user interface of Oracle ERP would be beneficial and is something that can be considered for future updates.""Earlier when our organization was small they chose Oracle because in the telecommunication industry everybody was using Oracle. Our company has grown to a size where our particularly billing phase has created some challenges and now we are looking at alternate solutions. There is not a billing engine or module that you can buy from Oracle that can be added to this EBS solution to fix our problem. They should add a billing module or engine to the solution.""Movement of CIP Inventory cannot be monitored in Inventory module when we are using the CIP Account or movement of CIP Inventory in Asset module, which is not flexible like Inventory module.""The way things are going, Oracle is not putting much effort into their master data management. They need to look into machine data and then the integrated data domain."

"UKG could be a little more flexible in some areas.""I would like the capability to use UKG as a single platform without the need to alternate between systems.""The solution could improve by simplifying it even more core reports, such as more sample reports, more generic reports that you can edit and improve on yourself.""Reporting is always a hurdle for any user just because it is so extensive. They provide a lot of out-of-the-box reports, but it is something that you always need to work on because you need more advanced writing of reports.""The solution could use better reporting with standard reports. We use the Cognos platform in BI for a lot of our reporting. However, they need to have more robust standard reporting available to their user base.""The platform's features need enhancement while being used as a recruiting tool.""I would like to see more functionality in the next release to be able to get hours and dollars per calendar month rather than just by payroll in the Business Intelligence reports.""The tool needs improvement on the configuration side."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Find a best Oracle partner and get a better discount."
  • "Oracle scales the pricing, but E-Business Suite is still very expensive for small to mid-sized businesses."
  • "It costs too much."
  • "The pricing is high."
  • "In order to minimize the implementation and consultancy costs, business lines should have proper definitions. They need to have a proper way of retrieving their data, which should be structured well."
  • "Both the current projects and future projects should be defined well. Licensing should be done according to current and near future plans."
  • "USD $100,000 annually."
  • "Considering the market at the moment, Oracle needs to adjust the pricing of this solution."

  • "I wasn't involved in the pricing part. I'm a user, and I believe it is based on the user count. One thing that is nice about Ultimate is that you can learn how to use the system without additional fees. The learning aspect is the life of a product, and the training was a huge reason why we went with Ultimate. We did have some integration costs. They were a part of the implementation because of the integrations to other systems that we included in our implementation."
  • "While I am unsure of the licensing cost itself, the total cost of implementation and licensing for a company with over 5000 employees would be around 6,00,000. So, there are additional costs beyond licensing."
  • "UKG's pricing and licensing model involves ongoing expenses based on the number of employees paid. The initial implementation cost is low when UKG implements it directly. However, when partners handle the implementation, it becomes more expensive since partners don't receive the monthly recurring fees."
  • "The platform is not affordable but also not the most expensive."

    Reviews from Real Users:

Kopano R., Freelancer at a tech services company, says, “What I found most valuable in Oracle E-Business Suite is the patching because it is straightforward. As long as you follow Oracle's best practices, you are able to finish the task of patching without a problem. I like that it's also easy to add products, e.g. if you want to add on financials, you can, or if you don't have financials, you can expand on that. I like that Oracle E-Business Suite is really scalable.”

Mohammed G., Senior Oracle Application Consultant at a comms service provider, writes, “Oracle E-Business Suite consists of a lot of streams, such as financial and HR processes of the enterprise companies. We are using most of the Oracle financial modules, and we have an Oracle stream, FI procurement stream, and HR streams, which have a lot of applications. Oracle E-Business Suite has over 20 different modules to choose from, it is comprehensive. Additionally, the integration is very good. “
