Comparison Results: Auvik is a user-friendly option for network monitoring and troubleshooting. The solution stands out for its support and ease of navigation. Users like its topology maps and centralized log information. At the same time, some users noted that Auvik’s dashboard could be more customizable and suggested that it could improve probe deployment. ScienceLogic is praised for its serverless and agent connectivity, effortless setup, and customized dashboards. However, it lacks detailed documentation and automation options.
"The single dashboard is a valuable feature."
"We can manage the entire system across the network and troubleshoot the pain points."
"Auvik has improved our monitoring of contracts for service outside of normal business hours. If anything goes offline after hours, we can alert our engineers immediately, so they can get it working as fast as possible."
"Auvik has decreased our mean time to resolution. It's easier to find the devices on the network and pull out the information. Of course, the SNMP is also good to get the logs. It helps in the network debugging or if we have to find any problems."
"Traffic insights are valuable. They show you what type of traffic is on the network and how much bandwidth it is utilizing. It can help you pinpoint issues if a device is broadcasting too much or if there is any other issue."
"It is pretty responsive to whether things are up or down."
"The traffic insights and the configuration management are the most valuable features."
"The appeal lies in the unified dashboard, providing a single view encompassing all aspects of my network."
"I like the feature that allows us to remote access and remote troubleshoot many of the devices, including terminal Windows."
"The first feature that I appreciate is the topology drawing in real time. If our NOC wants to troubleshoot, they can go to the topology map and see that this access point is connected to that switch via that specific port. And when something changes in the topology, it's dynamically updated."
"The most valuable features of ScienceLogic are AI and machine learning."
"ScienceLogic allows us to create and customize a user-friendly dashboard."
"Dynamic Component Mapping is key and unique."
"The tool is quite easy to deploy, and it offers very good support."
"It has good monitoring capabilities across cloud environments, data centers, and hybrid environments."
"I'm satisfied with ScienceLogicfor for what they can offer today because they can offer both serverless connectivity and agent connectivity."
"Power packs."
"Its ITSM and EMS combination is really amazing. There is no need to purchase two products, one for ITSM and a second for EMS/NMS."
"The technical support needs improvement."
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."
"The reporting needs a little bit of improvement. Sometimes, I get too many reports. Or, I don't get reports when I should be getting reports. I don't know if this is Auvik's fault or the devices that the reporting is coming from, but I have noticed there have been some discrepancies."
"I'd probably like a little bit more mapping functionality. It gives me a visual overlay of the way that one network segment links to another, but I can't adjust it. Everything is at an equal distance, which makes sense, but I'd probably group some of the things closer and further as it reflects in reality, but I can't do that right now on their system."
"The one thing that I need more help with is the networking of virtualization hosts. I need more information on those hosts and which virtual networks are attached to what, the virtual switches that are in there, and how they function. None of that exists currently."
"The mapping automatically finds all the interfaces but tags some of them incorrectly. For instance, if it can't find how a CPU interface is connected, it will use the MAC address last seen on the router and sometimes attribute cloud-connected devices to the route, but it's not actually there. That's not a true connection."
"I want the network map to be faster and more responsive."
"The responsiveness of the UI can be sluggish at times."
"A room for improvement would be integration with our help desk system."
"I would like to see Auvik have some more documentation with a typical CM solution like Splunk. I want to see more examples of things like configuring port forwarding for firewalls. In addition to collecting data from different types of appliances, I would like to customize more of the metrics for each appliance."
"It doesn't have the complete application-level topology. It could have service topology and business service monitoring. I would like to see how business service monitoring will function with agent-based installation, and how flexible and business-oriented it is for service modeling and service infrastructure. I have a lot of experience in using business service monitoring, service topology, and service hierarchy functionalities in similar products from BMC and Micro Focus (OpenView), and I want to see how these functionalities will look like in ScienceLogic."
"They should add CLI command modes and scripts for high performance."
"I would like to see out-of-the-box standard dashboards for common services."
"Admins do not have direct access to the reporting."
"The product's reporting functionalities have certain shortcomings, making it an area where improvements are required."
"ScienceLogic should provide detailed documents to customer as the current documents are not sufficient."
"It was challenging onboarding users."
"ScienceLogic could improve the implementation, it could be made easier."
