We performed a comparison between Dynatrace and Broadcom DX Application Performance Management based on real PeerSpot user reviews in five categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Comparison Results: Dynatrace has a more user-friendly interface, better AI capabilities, and stronger support for container platforms compared to Broadcom DX Application Performance Management. Dynatrace also offers more customization options for dashboards and better reporting capabilities.
"Deep Dive and Transaction Analysis Triage capability."
"Enables me to monitor multiple servers, applications, resources, and users"
"The way these tools show the information is very useful. this is a tool that records information from Java and .NET applications, and obtain information about how many times an method has been call in a period of time (usually 30 sec), how many times respond in this span of time or is delayed or stall."
"The APM tool allows us to monitor performance of that application, where are the pain points, where are the slowdowns, to focus on where we can fix those."
"I like that it gives you a wide range of data where you can see the application outage response from concurrent locations and the number of stalled jobs."
"Attribute decoration is a unique and very powerful feature. We can add meaningful meta information based on our internal demand."
"The configuration and the manager tool are good features."
"We did the setup for a new datacenter, and that was pretty straightforward."
"The alerting systems are definitely the most valuable feature. The AI engine, "Davis," has proved to be a game-changer for us, as it helps to alert us when there are anomalies found in our applications or in their performance... letting the Davis engine find those anomalies and push them to the top, especially as they relate to business impact, is very valuable to us."
"I think with Dynatrace, it has helped to bring value to the business because now we can speak using the same language."
"The UEM feature, User Experience Management: Understanding how users are perceiving the application and then connecting that back into back-end systems to understand why things have gotten slow and then dealing with things."
"The memory dumps, the tracing, and PurePath. All the tracing that you can do with the tool is, for us, our life. It's our daily job and it saves us a lot of time looking for performance issues."
"Dynatrace has designed its agents to capture limited stack traces for each transaction executed."
"We use Dynatrace to help us understand how applications perform in different platforms."
"I have never been more confident in a tool's scalability because I've seen how easy it is for it to deal with the .NET Applets."
"Enables my performance engineer to recreate a problem and give the developers what's happening, where to go look, all the information they need to be able to find what the root cause is."
"The reason it's not a ten is because they don't focus enough on improving over time like other competitors do who have a more modern and complete tool."
"The interface is getting a little old."
"The upgrade was complex. The documentation could have been a little bit better, but other than that, it was okay."
"Needs the ability to dynamically create dashboards. Right now, we do custom dashboards. Everything is created manually."
"Very often, we use tools such as Kibana or Jaspersoft for dashboards and reporting on CA APM data because CA APM’s old interfaces do not reflect well in modern displays, compared to those new tools."
"As applications move to the cloud, we need more cloud-based solutions from CA APM. This is currently unavailable."
"Broadcom DX Application Performance Management could improve its supportability to the current technologies and the end-to-end correlation feature should be done automatically without custom configurations. Additionally, there should not be any configuration changes to the client-side when deploying the solution."
"There is no auto flow diagram, and the alert mechanism is not as good when compared to other tools."
"We have multiple tenants. If you have them up at the same time, you can't see in the UI which tenant you're in. It doesn't tell you."
"Ease of use could be improved because it can be hard to determine how you made it to the screen you are on and how to get back to it later."
"The usability is worse than it used to be."
"To improve in Dynatrace the log analytics, this is the first thing that has to be enabled."
"Dynatrace has APIs, but they are unfriendly APIs. If they were friendly like Splunk or Sumo Logic had, we might integrate that same data on a single webpage, then start showing these internally."
"In the next release, I would like to see some new reports and more tiles on the Dashboard."
"When it comes to monitoring, we did the integration with VMware vCenter, and we were able to see some good stuff. The VMware vCenter integration was really great, but what we really missed was the integration with the network management stuff such as Cisco ACI. We wanted to see integration in that area, but it was not provided by Dynatrace. So, the main feature for us is integration with things like Cisco ACI. If they can bring that one in, with vCenter in there, it would be a total solution. It would be absolutely incomparable to anything else in the market."
"Improvements in Synthetic monitoring would be great. Certain features of thick client, if available in the web interface, would also be a great improvement."
