We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The pricing is excellent.""For workflow applications or general applications, the rapid development capability is what we value most.""The DAOS feature is the most valuable. It helps to save some of my storage.""HCL Domino is an application development and collaboration platform with strong stability and security. Deployment of this platform is easy and takes only 10 minutes.""The most valuable feature of HCL Domino is how robust it is.""It serves as a centralized solution that fulfills all my requirements from operating my email server to managing various aspects of my operations.""I like that HCL Domino is stable. It's a great product. I also like that HCL Domino is a mature product under IBM, which is why many companies use it.""HCL Domino is the best product from a security point of view."

"Communication is the most valuable feature of the solution.""It's user-friendly.""Microsoft Exchange is a user-friendly product that is easy to manage and configure.""The product works very well.""It gives me benefit in terms of integration with other services such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive. It makes my work much easier.""What I love about Microsoft Exchange is the good integration since 2013, particularly its integration with the calendar and other software such as Zoom, TeamViewer, AnyDesk, etc.""Support is very good.""Exchange is easy to use. It also has a built-in calendar for all the stuff I'm supposed to be looking at and doing. Exchange tells you if you have a doctor's appointment or a scheduled call. It also has a place to store and manage your contacts. If I want to add a new contact, it will put in information about that contact stored anywhere within the Microsoft Suite."

Cons
"The solution could improve Kubernetes or Dockers migration to new environments in the cloud.""The client version of this solution could be faster and be made simpler for non-IT users. You will need to have some knowledge of Notes to correctly install this solution.""Its performance and integration could be better. It has capabilities for large deployment with several servers, but in the latest interface, running with different servers isn't supported.""The product's user interface is one of its shortcomings since it is outdated, making it an area for improvement.""The solution is expensive.""HCL Domino could have a better interface.""An area for improvement in HCL Domino is security. New enhancements in the IT industry mean that security should be improved. The HCL Domino GUI also needs improvement.""Designing a new template could provide a refreshed visual experience for users without significant changes to the underlying functionality."

More HCL Domino Cons →

"In our current situation, the disappearance of sanctions would be a tangible improvement. We are basically cut off from technical support and it's very difficult to obtain any updates.""We would prefer to be able to manage the solution on the cloud.""Exchange can be a little finicky, sometimes, or flakey. Last week, for example, I had gone into my calendar to check on some briefings that I had established, and then went back into my inbox, and suddenly the view had changed. I had no idea what it was that I had done, and I couldn't figure out how to get that view back. I took a productivity hit as a result of that, trying to fix it, due to the fact that it just wasn't what I wanted. It wasn't what I was used to working with. Two different tech support people had to work with me in order to get the view back to what I wanted just so I could be productive.""They keep making all these changes, and our system was down for four or five days. They finally got it up, but there are still lots of quirks.""The security features could be improved. There should be a better policy management system.""There is a lot of spam email that comes in, so they should add functionality to help fix this problem.""If it was the same product, and slightly cheaper, that would be amazing.""Currently, its administration is too cumbersome. It's unwieldy. It's slow. It consumes too many resources. Configuration needs to be much more streamlined and administratively automated."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Price is reasonable compared to the other solutions."
  • "We're happy with the price of our license — it's pretty standard."
  • "We pay annually for the use of this solution and it is only a standard fee."
  • "We chose to pay for our licensing fees annually."
  • "Customers have to pay for a license for the Notes Client, not for the Domino database. There is a quarter license that we use."
  • "HCL Domino has reasonable pricing. It's not expensive."
  • "For 30 licenses, we pay $1,500 every year. It is not an expensive product."
  • "HCL Domino is costly, but it still depends on how your organization views it price-wise."

  • "They are flexible when it comes to pricing, unlike most of the other vendors I have dealt with."
  • "It's working very well. There is no problem, but the price is not the best."
  • "Its price is okay."
  • "It's a little bit expensive."
  • "Its price is very affordable, and basically, it is the standard of the industry. We have the Exchange 365 subscription, which includes the usage of Exchange Online. I don't know the specific cost, but it is the retail price of Microsoft 365 E3 licenses. Microsoft's licensing is not very easy to understand. Microsoft changes rules every other day, which makes it difficult for us to understand the licensing not only for Exchange but also for other products. It can sometimes be really complex to understand what you need to have in order to comply with Microsoft licensing."
  • "Microsoft doesn't have a unit price, it's based on the quantity, and they offer great discounts."
  • "We are currently using enterprise licenses for the solution. They are different pricing models available. There are individual, cloud-based, and enterprise licenses all with different pricing models. The larger the number of users, the lesser the price. For small to medium companies like us, we feel it is expensive."
  • "Its price is fair."
