We performed a comparison between Cisco Meraki Systems Manager (MDM+EMM) and Jamf Pro based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."If you need only to load a specific profile and you don't have deep security functionalities, et cetera, Intune is very nice and good."
"We have not experienced any bugs or glitches with this solution."
"The ability to switch between Affinity and non-Affinity enrollment is great."
"The ability to manage devices with different sets of policies is most valuable."
"It works pretty well for us."
"If the product works, remote access will be a benefit. To this point we have not had reason to have confidence in achieving that access."
"I like that we can implement conditional access."
"I like that it's very good and very simple. I found that we just needed to have a proper subscription for an Intune tenant, and from the subscription, if we have the right role assigned, like the global admin role or the owner role, we can use Microsoft cloud resources. With the help of that, we can do many things like setting up Microsoft Intune in the cloud to create our virtual machines. All these can be done, and the steps are very simple. I really liked it. I like features like Windows Auto-Enrollment. I like it very much because whenever you supply it to the end-user, it will be ready to use immediately. The end-user only needs to provide the user credentials, and then they are good to go. I also really like Cloud PC, which was recently launched on Azure."
"The most significant benefit is that the deployment is quick and painless. You don't need a specialized IT department to implement and scale the network. It's easy to maintain, too. It only requires one or two network administrators."
"It's robust, and we like the device availability, ease of purchase, and supplier stock availability."
"It's extremely competitive and very good for a product in this sphere."
"It's very easy to just keep adding devices as needed."
"Initial setup was easy."
"The UI is easy to learn."
"The cloud manager is user-friendly, and I can manage everything from one dashboard."
"We experience no downtime, no breakdowns, all the user readings are exact, and it gives us quick analysis so we can apply security measures."
"I have been using Jamf Pro for a few years now, and I'm impressed with its functionality and ease of use."
"We like the pre-stage enrollments."
"It offers professionals an endless amount of possibilities to keep users and the company happy."
"With the countless API integrations and Jamf Marketplace add-ons, Jamf is customizable and is a total device management tool for Apple's ecosystem."
"The self-service portal enables standard users to install and update software, change settings, and open organizational URLs."
"It is a first-rate product and well known in the industry as the gold standard for Apple device management."
"Jamf has made it achievable for us to easily deploy & manage Apple devices anywhere in the world, without the need for hands-on assistance from IT staff."
"Microsoft SSO integration allows us to set up email remotely for users without them having to do anything other than entering their password."
"I would like to see the ability to deploy custom packages as a Windows 64-bit package, as opposed to the Windows 32-bit, which is the only one available now."
"I'd like some more reporting so that I don't have to delve into PowerShell and I can pull more of the local device information such as memory, apps installed, etc. It would be nice to be able to see the apps that are present there but might not be managed. For example, if they installed 7Zip, it could report that back via an installed program or feature to see what was currently installed."
"I would like to see micro VPN. I like the way that some of the other providers have done something similar where, as you open that app on an end-point device, it creates a micro VPN straight into your device, which is quite a nice little feature. Also, Microsoft Intune relies heavily on its fellow products in the suite. It would be nice if Microsoft Intune could stand on its own two feet."
"Its configuration is fairly complicated. You have to do quite a bit of discovery to be able to deploy it for a customer. You have to ask them a lot of questions. So, its initial deployment is the biggest challenge. They should make it easier to deploy with the use of Wizards or something else. During the deployment stage, there could be profiles for the customers who are particularly wanting to use certain feature sets of Intune."
"The technical support could be improved."
"There is room for improvement in integrating additional features such as Purview and SharePoint activities into Intune."
"Data leak prevention can be integrated into it. Currently, it does not have data leak prevention."
"The synchronization could be improved."
"There are problems with the connection on the client side, and the app that was deployed could be better."
"Security could be improved, and there could be more features that enable you to customize the end customer solution."
"Because Cisco has improved a lot and is competing with other technologies that are innovative and brand new to the market, the only improvements they have to make are to keep up with the current competition and remain competitive with other solutions."
"The price of the solution could be reduced."
"System's compatibility with Google Chrome could be improved."
"Meraki is limiting our connections."
"I would rate my experience with the initial setup a four out of ten, where one is difficult, and ten is easy. It is more difficult."
"The price could be better."
"In some places, GUI could be more reactive."
"I think it would be best if Jamf had support tiers."
"Jamf could improve versioning as in outright blocking OS upgrades OR improving maintaining every application’s update feature. As of now, only some apps, like Flash, have managed updates."
"I think there's room for improvement on the automation. For example, uploading a package to Jamf Pro and then updating the policy and other aspects, should be automatic. For instance, if I put a new version of the software, version 11 and the previous one was 10, Jamf Pro should be able to recognize if there's an update and update the policy automatically. It's not a big deal, but I think there's room for improvement."
"It would be nice to be able to search smart groups and/or filter them."
"A more modern UI in the next release will make the product absolutely perfect."
"It would be amazing if they would give Apple TV management its own space in Jamf Pro and not just mix it in with devices."
"For Windows, we have a reset option. We'd that option available for Mac."
