We performed a comparison between Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business and Malwarebytes based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."he solution is an anti-malware product that integrates well with other vendor products such as firewalls, SIEM, etc. It captures threat intelligence and gives you better visibility. The product also has sandboxing features."
"The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls."
"Fortinet FortiEDR made our clients feel secure and more at ease, knowing that they had an EDR solution that would close the gap in their security posture."
"I get alerts when scripts are detected in the environment."
"Fortinet is very user-friendly for customers."
"The setup is pretty simple."
"We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats."
"Impressive detection capabilities"
"The policies are easy to make and controlled by the Kaspersky Administrative Security Center, which comes at no additional costs."
"The failure rate is very low."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Security protects against viruses and dangerous software, and it's also great because it has a component that is useful for the deployment of software versions to the end user's computer."
"The most valuable feature is the management center."
"find some of the most valuable features to be the anti-malware, encryption, and the EDR launching service."
"The initial setup was fairly simple, taking only a few minutes."
"The security and vulnerability assessment features are valuable."
"First of all, I like that it's perfect against malware threats and behavior analysis along with signature analysis. That's the key point for me."
"I was very satisfied with Malwarebytes in terms of its antivirus abilities."
"The most valuable features of Malwarebytes are the agents, user experience, efficiency of the findings, and MDR features."
"Being able to cloud manage it from just a cloud login is valuable. We can get to it from anywhere, which is really helpful. The fact that we can remediate from the cloud console is one of our favorite features."
"We don't have to spend any time remediating bad things happening: Not viruses nor ransomware."
"The solution is very good at scanning."
"When it comes to frontend protections, it has some of the best definitions. In addition, they do traditional signature and heuristic detection a lot better than Microsoft and some other players in that space."
"It is a stable solution."
"It allows us to have better knowledge of the way people use the tool and how we can improve their workflows."
"The only minor concern is occasional interference with desired programs."
"We find the solution to be a bit expensive."
"ZTNA can improve latency."
"The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices."
"Integration with Azure and SaaS provisioning tools could improve Fortinet FortiEDR."
"Intelligence aspects need improvement"
"FortiEDR could add a separate scanning dashboard. In incident management, we prefer to remove the endpoint system from the environment and scan the system. We typically use Symantec for that, but if we want to use FortiEDR for that, then we need a scanning tab to clarify things."
"We'd like to see more one-to-one product presentations for the distribution channels."
"It would be ideal with the solution offered more documentation."
"From time to time, some users loose connection via the Network Agent."
"There are many improvements needed, such as faster responses, faster notification, and immediate reports."
"We would like it so that if a user uses it on-premises, the server should use fewer hardware resources."
"The licensing fees could be reduced."
"They can improve the zero-day exploit to be more effective."
"There are quite a number of areas for improvement. The first area for improvement is that I find this solution to be very resource intensive when you're running a particular task, even a mere scanning task, even though it's running in the background. When you go to inspect the resources you realize it makes the machine very slow. It takes up a lot of resources even though there are no particular scanning tasks scheduled to run. That's one of the issues."
"A big improvement would be allowing us to reconfigure the agents and change what to whitelist for a specific user. If the user is not happy with the configuration and is being blocked from certain sites, we should be able to reconfigure the monitoring mechanics to make it more flexible."
"We have noticed that when the solution is doing the scanning, all the scanning activities make the device heavier. It slows down your machine."
"Malwarebytes is too simplistic. From a SOC IR perspective, it doesn't give you very much data around it. It doesn't tie things or provide SHA-1 and SHA-256 detection information, which makes it hard to do an additional investigation."
"Requires increased efficiency in terms of detecting false positives."
"Strictly in terms of cyber security, the release cycle should be quarterly, at most. It shouldn't be more frequent than that because, for one thing, keeping up with tech support is difficult."
"The EPP solution lacks the sophisticated artificial intelligence required for automating reports and letting you know about things in real-time. It stops a suspicious activity in real-time, but it doesn't let you know in real-time. You have to look at a report, and then you find out that something is wrong. You have to manually kick off a scan. With the Advanced EDR solutions, Malwarebytes has the ability to alert you in real-time, but they still don't do automatic remediation or quarantining of devices. That is something that you still have to do manually. So, the endpoint protection piece, which is just like their basic endpoint protection, lacks AI. For the advanced detection and response piece, there is an add-on that comes with it, but it still doesn't go far enough in terms of automatic remediation of viruses. It won't separate that virus from your network if something happens. You have to manually go there and do it."
"I would like to see integration with other vendors going forward."
"They should make it faster, less taxing on the processor."
"We experience a lot of false positives."
