We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The remote services feature is definitely the most valuable, along with the capability to print remotely.""If I could give it an 11 out of 10 I would, but I definitely give it a 10. It saves me time, it saves me headaches, it saves me a lot of problems, and I'm able to fix things quickly and move on. I can get in and out of the computer without anyone really even knowing that I fixed something.""Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""This is a very reliable product and I've never had it crash.""The most valuable feature is having it in a central location, all the different groups, and being able to ad-hoc or at will log on to whichever computer system I need to get to from a central spot.""It's the only product I need to be able to get to my office Outlook, to get my emails off that particular computer. Going the other way, sometimes I'll go to my home computer to do adjustments to my accounting system there.""You don't have to remember the password and the login all the time. Once you get it in there, it's in there, and you can go about your business.""Being able to remote access my computer means I can work at night from my house."

"It is very stable. It adjusts to bandwidth very well.""I can remote reboot and know I can reconnect automatically without having to have the end user log back in again.""Being able to reboot computers into safe mode, when needed. That has come in handy in regards to IT troubleshooting.""The solution has been in the market for the past 20 years. For us, it is one of the best tools.""There’s something called the dial-in so for people that use us all the time, we can have an icon on their screen and they can click that icon and we connect to them.""Has an easy way to remote on to a remote computer without having prior access to it.""I will say 100% in five years, I do not think we have had to use technical support for anything.""No issues with scalability. It is a fairly simple model. If I wanted to add five more, I would just buy five more people and licenses, apply the program to their computers, and give them their login."

Cons
"It would be helpful if there were more things that you could do outside of having to log into the machine, such as being able to raise a command line and reboot the computer if, for whatever reason, it doesn't want to let me in.""Unfortunately, LogMeIn is a long ways from being perfect. It has a lot of really great features, though they don't always work well.""Everything has to be done over the web, via email, or something like that. You can't talk to a human being. That bothers me a lot.""I would enhance the product, so if I had two screens in front of me, it could connect to two computers simultaneously with the program. For example, if I had a computer at location A and a computer at location B and I am sitting at location C, it might be nice for me to be able to be connected to all three of those computers and move data between those three during one session. ""The high pricing of the product is its only shortcoming that needs improvement.""It's never cheap enough. If we got it for free, that would be perfect. But I know it's not and won't be free. It's always going to be too expensive for me because we're a small company.""Remote Access for external and internal customers.""Maybe they can come up with a plan if you only use it for login and, occasionally, printing. Maybe you can charge what you used to charge and then if we want to use it for files or things that are more sophisticated, charge a little more."

"it needs better iOS integration. It's still limited in its functionality when it comes to iOS. Currently, when you do something other than iOS, you're not able to take control of what's going on; instead of having to tell the user, "Click here, click there," I would like to have full control over an iOS device.""The interface is not user-friendly. It looks a little outdated. I think the options are there. I think just the layout needs improvement.""The pricing, is a little on the high end but it's proven itself to be worth it for sure.""Secondly, the product needs improvement on mobile interfaces because on mobile devices it doesn't perform very well. On computers, it is good, with desktops, laptops, it is good. Sometimes iPad is good, but going with other devices, like Android or Windows on smart phones, it's always a problem.""Their ability to support mobile has been really problematic. I've seen other products that have done a better job in supporting mobile products. LogMeIn has just never been able to come up to par there, and that would be a detractor. They've been talking about supporting mobile for 10-plus years, and I really haven't seen any improvement on that.""Support to remotely control more mobile devices' screens is desperately needed. It is sad to see how long this product has been out and how many phones are still not supported for, specifically, remote screen control.""They need to improve their technical support.""We are currently supporting Linux, but there are certain limitations. We are currently working on improving Linux support and addressing certain limitations in the roadmap."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is very good."
  • "If you subscribe the package of 100 Agents, but install 5, you are still paying for the 100 agent package."
  • "Pricing has been going up for just going back and forth between two computers. Last year I called and complained, they gave me a deal. This year, it's gone up to $350. I'm looking for a new source. It seems to be getting expensive for me to look back and forth. Come up with a different level of service for just communicating with two computers; I use it, maybe, five minutes a day."
  • "Pricing is what I'm upset with. Now, that they bought everybody up, the price doubled."
  • "To be honest with you, I use it just for login and the prices are getting too high so we're going to look for an alternative solution. It used to be a couple of hundred dollars a year, now it's like $600 a year. We're definitely going to be switching shortly. Every year they have significant increases."
  • "We're paying $839 a year, so we're paying about $70 a month. We're using the smallest version of Pro."
  • "I have a tiered pricing. If I wanted to subscribe for three years, I will get a discount for that."
  • "It is pricey. When they renew me, they always boost it up, I call them and they cut it back a little bit."

  • "The only downside is pricing. I think each technician license is somewhere around $100 or $120 a month now. So if you have a lot of technicians, it can get expensive, for a small business."
  • "It is on the medium to high side. For us, it is worth it. For the amount of time they save us, it pretty much pays for itself."
  • "Look at the different plans they have. Do not pay for a plan you do not need."
  • "The pricing is a little on the higher side, though."
  • "Pricing is reasonable and easily offsets other costs, while resolving issues in a much quicker timeframe."
  • "The cost of LogMeIn is high... I went with another product that was going to give me savings of 50%. One technician tested it, he gave us the thumbs up. Then once we moved all my technicians to it, but it didn’t work... Trying to move from LogMeIn hindered our performance and productivity and it was not worth the savings."
  • "It's definitely worth the value."
  • "The rescue model is licensed by user."
