We performed a comparison between Azure DNS and BlueCat Integrity based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Managed DNS solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The speed of the queries is valuable."
"What I like about Azure DNS is that it doesn't have any issues and integrates quickly with other products. It has good integration, which is incredible. I also like that whenever you deploy private links and endpoints, Azure DNS gives you the option to select the Azure native DNS, private DNS, or go with the Azure custom DNS. It depends, but if you don't have any dependencies on the DNS, then, like many customers, you won't have DNS issues. Azure DNS is a very good solution that helps you with domains and other resources."
"The solution is easy to use and flexible."
"It is a scalable solution."
"It is a very stable solution."
"Data protection is paramount across cloud platforms"
"Integration with other Azure services is good."
"The tool is easy to manage and use."
"The solution is scalable in multiple ways."
"The solution includes automatic management of segments."
"The most valuable feature is the IPAMs, which provide visibility into all the IP addresses on the network."
"DNS aliases, which we use extensively in our applications are a valuable feature."
"BlueCat Integrity provides us with flexibility and visibility that we did not have before."
"Since implementing BlueCat, we have experienced fewer problems, anomalies, and strange issues."
"The most valuable piece, which has been a lifesaver, would be the BlueCat DNS resolver. BlueCat Cloud DNS resolver is a tool that takes a look into your cloud's DNS and then reports back everything it finds into BlueCat's DNS Edge solution. The Edge solution has a bunch of nice rules that you can configure to route the DNS traffic. That automation alone is a lifesaver for me for the day-to-day churn of the DNS components that change on an hourly, daily basis."
"One of the key features enabling us to operate at our current scale is robust automation."
"The solution lacks scalability."
"The pricing can be more competitive."
"I would like to see more integration with other platforms, improved stability, enhanced security, and better pricing because there is always room for improvement."
"What needs improvement in Azure DNS is visibility in terms of troubleshooting. It's similar to the area for improvement in Azure Network Watcher, where I can see how the source is going out if I'm troubleshooting a source destination. I can also see the destination. As for seeing how the packet travels, that's what should be improved. It's still lacking in visibility. Suppose I'm looking into backend machines, and if I'm hitting another NPM machine or any machine on the other side, there should be visibility. The tool should tell you that a specific machine is passing through a VPN gateway or route table, routing to a third-party firewall, and then dropping. Azure DNS should show an accurate answer to help the customers, which is its area for improvement."
"The process of creating a virtual mission could be improved."
"The support from Microsoft in India is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"There are issues with the cloud systems."
"The licensing cost should be improved."
"The solution does not export reports in a comprehensive format."
"While knowledge is a factor, both technical support and training need a significant overhaul."
"BlueCat Integrity can improve by increasing the amount of updates it releases."
"Usability needs to be better."
"During our testing phase, we encountered some issues with Active Directory and DNS reverse lookups."
"The DNS and DHCP servers for guests are separated from the main organization. A lot of times, it doesn't allow you to choose a default IP space. When I log in to the GUI, it doesn't default to where I want it to be. So far, I haven't been able to find out how to change or specify that so that it defaults to a particular space, such as the main org. If I'm looking for the IP space for guests, I need to toggle and go to the guest site. Most of the time, I want the IP space for the org to be my main space, but it doesn't give me the ability to do that, or I haven't been able to find that over the last two years."
"When you replace an appliance, there are many configuration steps, so adding zero-touch provisioning would be helpful. It can be quite tedious and time-consuming to replace a device if it fails or deploy a new one."
"One complaint about the interface is BlueCat's handling of subzones."
