We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I like the set time that users can log into devices during the day and how many times they can do so. I also like the ability to restrict the regions from which the user can get in. Users outside of our country or even the town cannot log in.""It was a simple way of providing two-factor authentication for remote access when we hit the COVID pandemic. It was very easy and quick to get it going.""The most valuable features of Duo Security are visibility and OTP authentication. The OTP is very important because it is a self-enrollment feature, you are able to enroll users very quickly with a shorter time period.""The app has greater stability than rival solutions such as Google Authenticator, and Duo Push authentication is a valuable feature.""Another feature is the single pane of glass management. That's important for analytics and also for troubleshooting. It means there's one place that you go to at least start the troubleshooting process.""The ease of deploying Cisco Duo Security and onboarding has greatly benefited our customers.""We get fewer threats to remediate due to the two-factor authentication, which does not allow as many threats through.""Since Duo Security provides a single place to log in for our SaaS applications, we don't have to manage user accounts and remember passwords for each specific application."

"I am impressed with Entrust because they are one of the most advanced identity access management companies. Their portfolio of products is well aligned with the CISA zero trust framework. If you compare the features of Entrust products with the CISA pillars of zero trust, you'll see that they're perfectly matched with CISA requirements.""The integration matrix of the solution is huge compared to others.""This solution is flexible and easy to use for our clients. We use it with different kinds of applications and integrate it with different processes.""It is a scalable solution. You can add users and credentials without problems.""Entrust is an enterprise account, and they have a support system. Their training is also top-notch, and they are willing to share their knowledge with their partners."

Cons
"We found it difficult to integrate it into our broader product family of Microsoft tools and other applications used across our organization.""I would like to see some features simplified, such as securing, configuring, and implementing Microsoft Remote Desktop. Other than that, the solution was rock solid throughout my time administering it.""Duo Security should have more customized use cases. For example, if a client needs to have more customization, it would be better to connect directly with Duo's R&D to try to discuss the issues together in order to add customizations.""For the back-end, there could be a few more security features applied.""I would appreciate it if Duo Security could improve its integrations with Windows Hello.""Integration with a product such as Microsoft Sentinel would be great. As the product continually improves, I'm unsure if this feature is available.""The only thing I can think of to improve for tech support is to have a dedicated engineer but then I would get an engineer that has priorities in one area or another and maybe not the scope I need.""I would like to see Duo Security increase the time that the users have to log into the devices. The maximum time interval is 50 minutes at the moment, and I would like it to be 60 minutes. When you try to log into a device and have to authenticate yourself, sometimes it's not very pleasant. It's not the best thing particularly if you have to do this every 50 minutes, which is the maximum time that Duo gives. This makes it difficult to use and does not save time."

"It functions well on-premises, but integrating it with cloud services like AWS or Azure could be challenging. There are issues with cloud integrations, such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.""We are introducing new processes and are migrating to a new version. Once we explore new functionalities, we'll be able to assess what could be improved.""I would like to improve the tool's implementation and pricing.""The product is very costly compared to other alternative solutions."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "During testing we are allowed a certain number of licenses for free."
  • "Its price is reasonable. It is not highly expensive."
  • "Their pricing model is a little bit weird. Currently, there is no price advantage in signing up for yearly contracts. There are no additional costs to the standard licensing costs."
  • "Our licensing fee is currently on an annual basis."
  • "The licensing is very good because it does not cost a lot of money. It's affordable for all-sized customers, including enterprises. There is an additional cost for premium support."
  • "Duo Security is free."
  • "With regard to pricing, for a small business buying a one off, it's pretty expensive. If it's an enterprise that has thousands of employees, however, it's really nothing to protect your data because if your network goes down or it's breached, you're losing millions of dollars every minute. When it comes to a large enterprise, it's priced where it should be because you're talking business to business. You're not talking business to consumer."
  • "Price wise, it's not cheap, but it's not expensive at all either. It's in the middle."

  • "I would rate the product's pricing a five out of ten."
  • "The subscription could be yearly or monthly, depending upon your choice."
  • "It's worth the money."

    Overview

Cisco Duo is a cloud-based access management platform that secures access to all applications, for any user and device, from anywhere. It’s designed to be both easy to use and deploy, while providing complete endpoint visibility and control.

Duo verifies users' identities with strong passwordless authentication and industry-leading multi-factor authentication. Paired with deep insights into your users’ devices, Duo gives you the policies and control you need to limit access based on endpoint or user risk. Users get a consistent login experience with Duo's single sign-on that delivers centralized access to both on-premises and cloud applications.

With Duo, you can protect against compromised credentials and risky devices, as well as unwanted access to your applications and data. This combination of user and device trust builds a strong foundation for a zero trust security model.

Identity Enterprise is an integrated IAM platform that supports a full suite of workforce, consumer, and citizen use cases. Ideally suited for high-assurance applications that require a Zero Trust approach for thousands or millions of users, Identity Enterprise can be deployed on-premises.
