We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is easy to use and pretty intuitive. User interfaces have stayed the same for the most part for the last 20 years. So, there is a familiarity.""The solution is stable.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Project is the reminder feature. This feature allows for the system to send notifications or reminders to individuals who have a task to complete once someone has finished their task. This has been especially useful in situations where multiple people are involved in a task. For example, if I have completed my task and the next person is just beginning, the system will send them a reminder to notify them of my completion. This feature has proven to be very beneficial and convenient for me in my tasks.""Microsoft Project is easy to use and helps our teams visualize the evolution of our projects.""We value all the features. Previously, we used Jenkins for similar purposes, but Microsoft Projects works fine. We're looking to improve integration with different clusters on production and automate various aspects of software development. This includes integration for alerting, monitoring, and pricing purposes, among other things.""I have found that the chart reporting feature is very helpful for us currently.""It served the purpose. It was pretty user-friendly.""It's most useful feature is that it interfaces with Project Server so we can, from my perspective, from a portfolio perspective, we can see across the organization."

Cons
"Project is not easy to scale. It isn't a cloud-based solution where everybody can utilize it at the same time without version issues when you save your file. We use it at the enterprise level, but you have to share the files to others within your organization through Teams or SharePoint. One improvement would be to transition to cloud-based functionality. However, that might limit the functionality in other ways.""Microsoft Project could improve the dates. Sometimes the dates are not aligned. This occurs even when you auto-schedule the dates. We have to go and define the schedule daily this should more easily accessible.""Tracking timeline, resource allocation, and monitoring are areas of concern for the tool where improvements are required.""It should be easier to break things. Breaking up the visualization from the task is sometimes a little bit tricky to do. You can do it, but it takes a minute. It's not an easy function to do. The way you have to format it and stuff like that takes a minute.""I would like to see the inclusion of multi-currency support.""Once we commit our status, changing it is hard.""The solution is a basic tool that does not give you analytical insights. It does not have any AI capabilities which can also help to plan.""It needs to be more comprehensive."

"The reporting could improve project management. We need multiple source reports. If someone is new to the support it has a steep learning curve.""They should work on integrating the solution with ERP.""The scalability has room for improvement.""Primavera could be better integrated with other products, and it needs more cost management features.""The solution's user interface is an area with shortcomings that need improvement."
