We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I like SevOne's network flow reporting.""The network data collection has been very flexible for us. It's been thorough in areas that were lacking. They have a team that I've worked with to add other pieces to it. So if it's missing something out of the box, they work with me to add it. I was able to collect that data. It's not perfect, but it's pretty thorough.""The most valuable feature as of late has been the API integration with ServiceNow.""The out of the box reports and workflows are pretty good and they meet our requirements well.""I like the tool’s scalability and real-time reports. Earlier, we struggled to give real-time reports to clients. I also like the tool’s deployment model where we can deploy it either on-premises or in-house. We don’t have to carry the data all over the globe. Also, I am impressed with the tool's flow reporting and Wi-Fi.""The comprehensiveness of this solution's collection of network performance and flow data is one of the basics in the field for what it does. It meets all of our needs. So for all those areas, for the most straightforward collection capabilities, right up to NetFlow and even telemetry, it meets all those demands. Not only just basic or fundamental SNMP collection capability, but the product also supports what we need for the future with telemetry streaming. So it's very comprehensive.""The feature that I have found most valuable is the scale-up and scale-down. The scale-up is an operation where the CPU boosts-up and then the memory will boost-up. That works awesomely.""The modules and the performance management reports that come with data insights are two of the most valuable features. I also find the reports for Wi-Fi, Netflow, LAN, and WAN for monitoring to be very good."

"Visualizations helped the organisation with a better understanding of its KPIs.""The SIEM is the most valuable feature of the product.""I haven't had the chance to properly sink my teeth into Enterprise Security but so far I like that they added the MITRE ATT&CK features.""The most valuable feature of Splunk is the management and built-in workflows.""Splunk allows us to find insights that we were not able to with traditional BI tools using ETL. It allows us to dig into raw events.""The Splunk user community and forum are most valuable.""The most valuable feature is that it's very good for log aggregation.""It has virtual visualization, and other products do not."

Cons
"I would like to see live maps as an added feature. Also, build modules on AI and EML to provide better data insights that would proactively tell us what we should be looking after.""Some similar solutions offer end-to-end visibility.""SevOne could improve its flexibility because it isn't fully customizable and its out-of-the-box configuration doesn't cover all use cases.""Software upgrades can be tricky is not easy.""The user management features need to be improved. It would be nice if we had more granular control, or layers of control, out of the box.""With the administrative management of the appliance, if some object appears from SevOne because something changed in the network or whatever, then as an administrator you will not be aware. If you are using this object in a report, this object will disappear from the report and you will not be aware of it. So, if you have 1,000 reports, you cannot always check these reports everyday to see if objects are missing or information has disappeared. We don't have any information on alerts, saying that something is happening there and maybe we need to take action. If an object was replaced by another one, or if a link was replaced by another one, then the graph needs to be changed because it doesn't exist in the graph anymore. However, we don't have this information.""When I started using it, I tried adding one of the BroadWorks application servers into SevOne... it created thousands and thousands of objects from that one application server and we immediately ran out of license... It would help, when new objects are discovered, if there were a way to categorize those objects and to pick the part of the object you need...""We need to be thinking about streaming telemetry protocols. They already have the port for enhanced visualization, which they already have through Data Insight."

More IBM SevOne Network Performance Management (NPM) Cons →

"I would like additional features in different programming models with the support for writing queries in SQL or other languages, such as C#, Java, or some other type of query definitions.""It can be tough to determine if you are getting all of the value out of your investment at times.""An improved user interface along with multi-tenancy support would be beneficial.""I have concerns about the architecture as well since I can see it is not very well defined.""It would be nice if Splunk reduced the cost of training. Their training sessions are way too costly.""The analytics of Splunk could be improved.""The product's price may be an area of concern where improvements are required.""The configuration could be better."
