We performed a comparison between Acronis Cyber Protect and Dell PowerProtect DD (Data Domain) based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Veeam Software, Commvault, Zerto and others in Cloud Backup."It's always stable. It's very good, useful, and user-friendly."
"Acronis has many features, which are really very interesting, when it comes to data backup and recovery, especially disaster recovery (DR)."
"I like Acronis Cyber Protect's backup process and its management console is intuitive."
"The pricing is fine."
"Universal Restore is valuable to us."
"It has simple buying options and deployments. You can buy on-cloud, on-premises, or hybrid solutions. Acronis Backup is very easy to deploy. It also does not consume much hardware. The administrator's tasks are very simple. It is very user friendly, and it also has good security features with low-level encryption and data encryption."
"The most valuable feature is the quick restoration. We can restore the data quickly."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that it backs up my systems transparently in the background, and I'm not even conscious of it."
"Short backup window has made a difference in the way my organization functions."
"The most important feature is the level of data compression provided by Dell EMC. It's a leader in data compression and deduplication, and the level of compression isn't available with any other vendors in the market."
"It is very fast as compared to the other competitors. Its simplicity and bit rate are also valuable. It takes less time if we compare it with the old solution that we have."
"The tool's performance is very good. DD Boost can improve its performance and backup."
"I like the different features. We work closely with Dell on different products and features, which is why we use them all."
"It is a stable solution."
"It is secure, reliable, and has officer support."
"The most valuable features are the deduplication and compression and the Data Domain Boost."
"The pricing could be improved."
"There are some limitations to the backup."
"The solution's error handling can be improved specifically for Linux errors."
"The biggest problem that we have is when the antivirus is installed, the whole machine runs very slowly and some of the machines hang."
"I believe that the next release should be easier to configure as this one is difficult to configure even the easiest of tasks."
"Acronis Backup can improve the latency when the file size is larger, we have had issues. Additionally, they could allow more flexibility when searching for information and I cannot download the CBIS backup copy information which could be made easier."
"There are a lot of products out there that are a little bit stronger than Acronis where AV is concerned."
"Because Acronis Backup is an on-premises solution, there is extra overhead. It's harder to manage, and there's no real remote access. You have to physically log in to the machine to manage it. The reporting feature works fine, and you will be able to send out reports. However, that is where it stops. The deployment could be improved and could be through a network chain. If we need to deploy two machines that are not connected to the internet but connected to two different networks, it would be great to have a machine with dual mix that has access to the backup server and to those machines. It would be like a relay that you can install on the machine with a two-mix, and that machine can then connect to your backup server and to the other machines. You should be able to see the other machines on that network and be able to deploy to it and push jobs to it."
"Dell EMC Data Domain needs to have better compatibility between NetWorker and the hardware. NetWorker is not as good as the other products which are currently on the market like Backup Exec."
"It could be more secure."
"When you use Data Domain, you have to have at least 20% free space so it can work properly. Sometimes we struggle with that, because we wanted to use all the free space, but then Data Domain becomes really slow. I understand that 20% is needed to process all the data, and doing the duplication and compression and all that, but it would be a big improvement if they did not require that 20%, because it is just too much to have available."
"The pricing could be better, but it's still not too expensive."
"I would like to see some kind of integration with the ransomware in the next release."
"The price could be a little cheaper than it is now."
"The licensing model was the biggest concern for our company, but the poor support after the initial implementation is of equal concern."
"I would like to see better integration and support for backing up to cloud providers such as Alibaba Cloud."
