Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature of Alteryx Designer is its ability to select all the inputs and formulas.""The most valuable features are the integrated properties and integrated connectivity.""The features I found most valuable are the preparation features – the Join and the Transform.""Alteryx Designer is easier to use for machine learning models. However, I am not very good at Python scripts which you will need to make the machine learning scripts.""It has great UI.""I have been using Alteryx Designer only for data modeling and data structuring.""Alteryx is quite easy to use, learn, and understand as a product.""One of the things I like about Alteryx Designer is how easy it is to connect numerous data inputs, including API connectors. This helps tremendously in reducing the time required to extract data from systems like SAP that don't have straightforward connectivity options."

"The Connectivity and Connection Manager supports a broad number of connection types, and it is trivial for end-users to set up their own connections to sources.""The most valuable features of Toad Data are you could write a parameterized query and it wouldn't error out, it would give you the parameters that you could input. The auto-formatting feature is useful because it was great for keeping your queries neat and understandable. The auto comment, and uncomment toggles that you could do were convenient."

Cons
"Alteryx's data science and machine learning capabilities are where it loses out to DataIQ.""Alteryx could move faster to create a cloud equivalent of the desktop version of Designer.""An improvement for Alteryx Designer would be faster bug fixes and updates.""Based on my experience, the tool could be improved by providing sample reports or pre-configured workflows tailored to specific industries, like finance. It needs to integrate an AI chatbot as well.""Alteryx Designer's pricing and support could be improved.""When configuring the Logix, the UA could be improved.""The major concern in Alteryx Designer stems from the high costs attached to the product.""It would be simpler if they provided a component where you could simply enter some parameters and see the results."

"On the scheduling server, some scheduled reports just sit there and never execute for the first time. After manually executing the first time, they run with no issues.""Toad Data could improve by having additional features, such as query prediction. This could help someone who's not the strongest programmer. If the software could help them write queries correctly it would be very helpful, especially for small development teams or teams that lack the input skills necessary to write and program efficiently."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is too expensive for our country. We are a small country, so it is too difficult to sell this solution. With Alteryx Designer, if you want to automate the data and run the flows, you have to pay more money. We were trying to automate the flows, and we found out that people have to pay 600 more for this feature, which makes it even more expensive. We are a partner for Tableau, and we are working with Tableau Prep, which is like a mini Alteryx. In Tableau Prep, you can drag and drop and make new connections with the different data sources. You can make all the connections. You can also publish a source. You don't have to pay more money with Tableau. You pay like $5 per user per month to access it."
  • "Alteryx is a little bit expensive compared to competing solutions."
  • "Alteryx Designer is an expensive solution."
  • "I rate Alteryx Designer a six out of ten for pricing."
  • "The licenses are expensive, making it difficult to consider acquiring additional licenses to the existing ones."
  • "Each license is something like $4,000."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer as a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is extremely expensive, and ten is a highly cheap product."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer a ten on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."
