We performed a comparison between Aruba Instant On Access Points and Cisco Wireless based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Wireless LAN solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The simplicity is great."
"The solution is very secure."
"In terms of reporting, in terms of all the user reports, it's very rich."
"With Mist, every Wednesday they roll out new features."
"The AI capabilities of Mist Wireless are superior to other OEMs."
"Juniper Mist offers valuable features like comprehensive network insight, granular policy control, fast device setup, strong security, and efficient SSL traffic management."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is Marvis, the AI-driven network management system."
"The most useful feature of Juniper Wireless AP is the reporting Marvis."
"The coverage Aruba provides across the physical area is much better. Most probably because of the new technology, the 4x4 antenna, and everything around it. It's just a much better, easier to use, and easier to manage product."
"Regarding access points, the customer typically considers low-cost plans, and Ruckus Unleashed Access Points are commonly used. These access points are managed through the Microsoft console and can be accessed either with or without ports. The management is done through a controller. The main benefits customers see include cost-effectiveness, especially for those with budget constraints. Aruba, in particular, provides a good user experience. Some customers might choose Huawei, but enterprise access points are also considered. Additionally, the unified access point capabilities are valuable, allowing management from the same account. However, there is a limitation of twenty-five access points, and if a customer requires more, they need to create another site or account. If the customer exceeds twenty-five access points, they need to generate another site or virtual business to manage additional access points, as the external number is limited to twenty-five."
"Its technical support is excellent."
"The app and the provisioning are the best features of the product. It was really impressive that I was able to just provision it remotely. I didn't have to be on-site with my friend, and we were just able to get everything up and operational. So, the app is great. It sends me notifications when things are down, and it tells me how everything is doing."
"The product is scalable. It has 20 users."
"I would rate the stability of this solution a ten out of ten."
"It's super user-friendly."
"The solution is scalable."
"The solution is easy to use and its stable."
"The stability is great. It's very reliable."
"The main features are that it's secure and it's easy to distribute the SSID and control it. I also like the controller."
"It is a reliable and robust solution. Access and Mobility Groups are useful. We don't use anything very fancy."
"For me, there are two important features: 1) WLAN grouping – Allows us to have different groups and, within those groups, specific WLANs, so there is no overlapping. 2) FlexConnect – Enables us to have remote offices at different locations. We can have a central WLC to control all the locations."
"The solution is scalable."
"It is a stable solution."
"The product is compatible with a lot of mobile devices."
"Improving third-party integration is key for Juniper Mist's next release."
"Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points’ support services need improvement."
"The solution is expensive."
"They should include SD-WAN features to it."
"Enrolling into the tool is a tedious process."
"The price could be better."
"The product should include adaptive Wi-Fi to show a more accurate location."
"It would be helpful to have even stronger security features to help protect against interference from other nearby access points that aren't part of our network."
"The limited functionality of the mobile app restricts its use primarily to small and medium-sized setups, making it less suitable for enterprise-level solutions."
"The solution should include higher speed and lesser cost."
"The solution can be more integrated with other brands."
"Software-wise, I would like to have a way of moving APs from site to site and wish there would be a way to add more APs to one site. I know the limit is 25 APs per site and I wish there were more."
"It's only suitable for smaller offices. It doesn't scale well."
"If there's a way to get a floor map of our office space so we can place the access points on a map to be able to see what's what, where everything is going, where the most traffic is being connected, that would be a nice feature."
"The solution's range could be better."
"I would like to see a feature that blocks, increases, or decreases bandwidth capacity for devices."
"The price could be better. The configuration is also complex. It would be better if there's an NEC solution. That's one of the things we really want to have. It should also be as fast as possible."
"In the next release, I would like to see some AI capability deployed. Other competitors like Mist and Juniper already have it. So, AI features need to be introduced next year."
"The solution could be cheaper and have a better web interface."
"There should be an option for a wireless bridge that can be used to join two access points."
"The main concern is the length and overlapping. We have to put on four to six access points on the same floor, and we face the issue of overlapping areas. If Cisco can extend the range of their indoor APs, we would need to install just one or two access points, and it would eliminate the problem of the overlapping area."
"The stability could improve, there are some issues. We were told the version of the software we are using on all of the controllers is best for Cisco IOS, but we might need to update our software, this might fix the stability issues we are experiencing."
"I would like to see less dependency on other products such as ISE and Prime for certain implementations."
"In the future, I would like to have Cisco add video documentation on configuring and overall learning of how to use the solutions. For example, in such areas as, security, authentication, and load balancing."
