We performed a comparison between AWS Glue and Axway AMPLIFY Application Integration based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Cloud Data Integration solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The most valuable feature for me is the visual interface of AWS Glue."
"Transformations are valuable because you can modify or override complex data logic from an open source or Spark to solve issues."
"AWS Glue is fast and managed by AWS. Hence, you don't have to worry about capacity and the performance of Glue jobs. It has integrations with other data stores of AWS. The product offers metadata management, logging, and ETL processing capabilities. It comes with a powerful feature, Glue Studio, which helps to do queries interactively within the community. It is a managed service and very secure. Another popular and mature service is S3."
"The most valuable feature of AWS Glue is its ease of use and good documentation. Additionally, we can do all the transformations that we need."
"Its user interface is quite good. You just need to choose some options to create a job in AWS Glue. The code-generation feature is also useful. If you don't want to customize it and simply want to read a file and store the data in the database, it can generate the code for you."
"I like the fact that AWS Glue works with Python scripts."
"AWS Glue's best features are scalability and cloud-based features."
"I like that it's flexible, powerful, and allows you to write your own queries and scripts to get the needed transformations."
"Axway AMPLIFY Application Integration is very easy to use."
"The most valuable feature is that API Gateway is extremely flexible for any feature, such as connecting to Active Directory to pull the users and their authentication information. There are three ways to connect to Active Directory, and the reason for this is that the computing environments of our customers are very different. Every feature in API Gateway has got multiple methodologies for accomplishing those tasks, which is important because customers are constantly changing their security models, IT models, networks, etc. API Gateway is very flexible. It is not a one size fits all sort of situation where it is very rigid, and you can only use these pull-down menus, and that's all it ever does. It is much more open than that. It can give you fabulous reports on your users, usage, security issues, and the data sets that are going through there. You'll suddenly have visibility on the movement of data within or between your organization and other organizations. The other thing is that you're connecting API to API, which is machine to machine. The things that were done manually in an Excel spreadsheet before exchanging data through email are now done machine to machine and server to server. It speeds up the velocity of your business."
"The product is robust."
"Axway AMPLIFY Application Integration is quite a stable solution."
"I haven't looked into Glue in terms of seeking out flaws. I've not come across missing features."
"We face performance issues when using AWS Glue for data transformation and integration."
"In terms of performance, if they can further optimize the execution time for serverless jobs, it would be a welcome improvement."
"On occasion, the solution's dashboard reports that a project failed due to runtime but it actually succeeded."
"Glue could perform better. It sometimes takes too long to test a Glue job. Google Cloud Platform offers more Python scripts than AWS."
"It is not clear how the partition discovery would have been affected by more data coming in."
"One area that could be improved is the ETL view. The drag-and-drop interface is not as user-friendly as some other ETL tools."
"The interface for AWS Glue could improve, they do not put a lot of details. You can write the code, in PySpark or in Scala, which is a big advantage, it is only easy to use for a developer. It will be difficult for new users to enter the cloud environment."
"Because it is so flexible, you really need someone who knows Axway Gateway or has been through the training and is certified. Just because you know APIs doesn't mean you're going to walk into that API Gateway and understand what to click on. If you're going to get something done quickly, you need to find an engineer from a company who has some experience with it. It is easy to learn, but if you're doing on-the-job training, it is going to take you longer to get your project accomplished."
"Axway AMPLIFY Application Integration is an expensive solution."
"The product must improve its visibility and scalability."
"The most important point to improve is the capability to deploy in large enterprises."
