We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable aspect is the copy capability.""Microsoft supported us when we planned to provision Azure Data Factory over a private link. As a result, we received excellent support from Microsoft.""Data Factory's best features include its data source connections, GUI for building data pipelines, and target loading within Azure.""From what we have seen so far, the solution seems very stable.""We haven't had any issues connecting it to other products.""It makes it easy to collect data from different sources.""Data Factory's best feature is the ease of setting up pipelines for data and cloud integrations.""The most valuable feature of Azure Data Factory is the core features that help you through the whole Azure pipeline or value chain."

"GoldenGate can aggregate various data types from different sources.""GoldenGate's best features are the desktop security features.""Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""This has significantly eased the process of migration from on-premise to cloud. Cons
"When working with AWS, we have noticed that the difference between ADF and AWS is that AWS is more customer-focused. They're more responsive compared to any other company. ADF is not as good as AWS, but it should be. If AWS is ten out of ten, ADF is around eight out of ten. I think AWS is easier to understand from the GUI perspective compared to ADF.""When the record fails, it's tough to identify and log.""This solution is currently only useful for basic data movement and file extractions, which we would like to see developed to handle more complex data transformations.""There is always room to improve. There should be good examples of use that, of course, customers aren't always willing to share. It is Catch-22. It would help the user base if everybody had really good examples of deployments that worked, but when you ask people to put out their good deployments, which also includes me, you usually got, "No, I'm not going to do that." They don't have enough good examples. Microsoft probably just needs to pay one of their partners to build 20 or 30 examples of functional Data Factories and then share them as a user base.""We are too early into the entire cycle for us to really comment on what problems we face. We're mostly using it for transformations, like ETL tasks. I think we are comfortable with the facts or the facts setting. But for other parts, it is too early to comment on.""The speed and performance need to be improved.""The user interface could use improvement. It's not a major issue but it's something that can be improved.""Areas for improvement in Azure Data Factory include connectivity and integration. When you use integration runtime, whenever there's a failure, the backup process in Azure Data Factory takes time, so this is another area for improvement."

"The initial setup was a little complex, and we required support from Oracle to complete it.""Oracle GoldenGate Cloud Service lacks AI. If AI gets introduced in Oracle GoldenGate Cloud Service, it would be much easier to do analysis.""More technical documentation is needed, especially in terms of mapping and conversion of data, while integration would also be very helpful.""Oracle is always adding new features. I can't think of anything that's urgent currently."
