We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is very reliable, so we don't have any issues with it. Our customers have never raised any issue with it. Basically, once you set it up and it is running, it is trouble-free. Our customers are happy. They just got a renewal for the subscription for the service.""The scalability of the product is fine.""The superior support from Barracuda in setting up, using, and helping with issues for the product.""Whenever you have a crash or your service is not working, you can just live-boot the machine and have your service up and running.""The most valuable feature is unlimited data storage on the cloud. Even if the employee has left the company for a few years, the backup will still be maintained.""It is very stable, and I'm very happy with this solution.""The most important feature in Barracuda Backup is the ability to archive the backup of emails.""Most important is its ease of use. You plug it in, follow the steps, and you have your backup file."

"They are a large company with good best practices, and they give good support.""If you use the NetBackup Appliance you do not need to have separate media servers and hardware. You can configure the same storage as a media server and master server as well as a storage port. This helps to reduce the hardware costs of the media server.""The intelligent policies feature is used in order to protect the VMware infrastructure. One of the things that makes a big difference for our company is the usage of these intelligence policies. The system automatically provides extra protection for any VMware server application or service. From a backup administrator's point of view, this is what we call peace of mind. It reduces the workload and therefore reduces resources needed from the company.""The most valuable feature of Veritas NetBackup Appliance is duplication and covers many applications.""It’s quite scalable.""It is very capable of scaling and very good for heterogeneous environments.""The solution has a very easy-to-navigate user interface.""The documentation is okay. You are able to follow it and it is helpful."

Cons
"Its speed can be a bit improved, and of course, its pricing can go a lot cheaper.""The backup feature could be a bit simpler to utilize. They should make the process of backing up individual files simpler.""I would like to see the Live Boot feature extended to Hyper-V machines, in addition to VMware machines.""The solution needs fine-grained backup capabilities to service individual users. But this is a minor issue considering all that the product does.""It would be nice to have some reports generated on the usage, but it is not essential.""This solution could be improved with offering lower prices at scale.""When we manage the box physically, we don't have as much control as we do when we manage from the cloud. The best management is from the cloud.""I am working in some of the more rural areas of Sweden, and some of the customers here are a little bit wary of cloud technology at the moment. It is not like in Gothenburg or Stockholm, where people rely on it so much more. In the rural areas, companies are saying that we do need to use the cloud, and they are being very wary about their data, especially with GDPR and all that kind of stuff. Having more control and having an option for backing up locally, even if you don't want to use it, would be something very good. The cloud backup is brilliant, but there should be an option to take that cloud backup and save it locally as well. If you lose connection to the internet or you lose access to your data in the cloud, having a backup copy of the latest data on your server is helpful. You need to be able to get access to your customers' files, especially with GDPR, where you need to know where your customers' details are. If they're in the cloud and you've lost access to them, then you'll go into those GDPR regulations. This is somewhere where both Barracuda and Veeam haven't gone as far. As far as I have understood, with Veeam, you can back up your local servers to the cloud but not vice versa. I haven't worked on it much."

"Veritas NetBackup Appliance can improve by having a more direct connection to the cloud. It should have the technology to be able to directly communicate with the cloud.""The NetBackup software is based on Red Hat Linux, but we should have multiple software options for that. We should have more OS options. Also, there are too many tools and intermediaries. Everything should be built into an all-in-one solution.""It could be better integrated with other platforms.""With technical support, it feels like they aren't well trained and it takes forever to get answers out of them.""They could simplify the process of installing, and provide more space for data during the process.""The upgrade process of the solution needs to be improved since it is extremely complicated, especially without the benefit of a support person who can guide one through it.""The hybrid model is not that efficient if we want to off-site data; it takes a lot of time to upload the data on a regular basis.""This solution has to have better integration with the cloud, as well as with other solutions such as Business Intelligence products."
