We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is reviewing tickets and the notes added by technicians.""The biggest aspect for us is that they are able to conform to our environment and utilize our tools. That way, we still maintain ownership of all the data and access to the applications, and we never lose control of the ability to run the solution ourselves if we need to.""The best part about Binary Defense MDR is that it runs on everything, and they keep an eye on things 24/7.""Binary Defense's most valuable feature is the 24/7 monitoring and threat hunting. Their team checks the latest breaches and how they're done.""With Binary Defense, we don't just get an alert, but also a detailed rundown of why they're alerting us on it. They tell us what was executed, or the username, script, or IP. That way, we're not wasting time investigating.""The most valuable features are the SIEM and the ticketing function; the latter is very smooth and easy to read and understand. We don't have any issues looking at the ticketing information when we're trying to identify what's going on.""The speed at which their services are reactive is valuable. Nowadays, when a threat hits an endpoint, you've got minutes, not hours or days. Their average response time is about four minutes on an alert. For anything that needs to be sent to us, it's about fourteen minutes, which is pretty good. They're the third SOC that I've used in fifteen years. By far, they are the quickest ones to act. When you're looking at prevention, that's a key factor.""The most valuable part of Binary Defense is its team of cybersecurity analysts. Their analysts filter out the noise and only forward the critical threats that require a response instead of false positives."

"I like the EDR feature.""A user cannot uninstall or disable the tool from their systems. It has ransomware blocking and zero-day threat protection. The tool also alerts us whenever a system or device has been compromised. It has a web control feature to manage website categories.""It's easy to use.""A lot of the AI that is running in the background that deals with the response on different detections is important, and the learning from the labs themselves is also very important. That's where they set themselves apart from others. A lot of the other products that are out there on the market probably have a lot more bells and whistles, but they are not necessarily directed at the heart of what MDR should do, at least in my opinion. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, and in my opinion, if you're getting back to the basics and doing what its true intention is, they've done a very good job in comparison to others.""If you're looking at an enterprise with centralized control, you can actually push the policies to all your clients' endpoints easily across VPNs.""We find it extremely effective. We probably have over 500 endpoints, and we have not had any reports of viruses since we have installed it. It is very reliable.""Bitdefender MDR's integration capabilities have been smooth, leveraging cloud-based and various threat intelligence feeds. Bitdefender's array of technologies, including remote mapping and machine learning, with numerous patents, ensures effective threat management."

"SentinelOne has a rollback feature that has helped them gain popularity in the market. No other competitors of the solution including Cisco, Fortinet, or Cortex XDR have this feature. SentinelOne is a kernel-independent solution. We don’t need to check the kernel dependency on the Linux platform. They also commit to a 100 percent recovery from ransomware attacks. The solution has rollback features for ransomware on Windows.""The initial setup process was straightforward.""The solution is very easy to use.""Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten...Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""SentinelOne Vigilance is a very stable solution.""The best feature of this solution is the third-party management aspect. An external company oversees the tool's management and monitors the data it generates. If the EDR detects suspicious activity, it will react accordingly and take necessary actions, such as blocking a device.""The most valuable feature of the solution is its performance, which is very important for us in our company.""SentinelOne is a comprehensive solution for protecting SOAP-based web services and AWS-based cloud infrastructure."

Cons
"We found that an earlier version of the agent had high memory usage and that was a bit concerning, but we raised the concern with their support team and they immediately replied that they had noticed the same thing and had a candidate fix already available... it totally fixed the issue.""I would like to get more reports from Binary Defense about what they're blocking.""If I were shopping for an MDR solution today, I would not only look for a company that has the ability to alert, detect, and remediate, but also the ability to integrate vulnerability management. That's a big thing that they're lacking today.""I would like to see more frequent check-ins with our security status.""The most significant area for improvement is in support for non-English speakers; we're a global organization, so many of our users are not English speakers, which can make interacting with them a challenge. There's no Chinese language support, so we must rely on what we can do with the internet. We don't expect Binary Defense to build a language staff, but details can get lost in translation when we assume the whole world speaks English.""We should be able to isolate devices faster. They should shorten the time between clicking on a device to contain it and carrying out the action. That would be a welcome improvement.""It's hard to think of anything that they need to improve on, but just to point out something, I would like to see them provide advanced XDR.""We found a couple of bugs in the user interface."

More Binary Defense MDR Cons →

"We need more updates as there are always more threats coming.""For improvements, focusing on the commercial viability of markets like India could make it more accessible. The pricing structure, especially for price-sensitive markets like those in Asian countries.""They're doing a really good job. The throughput and the response time can always be better, but there's already a solution out there. It depends on how much and what tier you want to be a part of. The way they're designed is that if you pay for it, you can have a turnaround time in a very short amount of time. If you don't pay for it, your response time is going to be a little bit less. That can always be improved, no matter what tier you're on. It could be in terms of tech support, or it could also be things like getting the reports and getting the summary back from the labs. When something is detected, what did it all entail? There are a lot of those things. It's not all in one, but all of those are different branches.""They can improve their support a little bit. We've had some issues with some of the installations in terms of getting the installation, configuration, and flows correct, and sometimes, their support is not as simple and easy to deal with as we'd like.""The automatic backup isn't very big.""Bitdefender MDR consumes too many resources during scanning which further affects developers' productivity.""Integration capabilities are not as rich as other tools like CrowdStrike's. Bitdefender wasn't as feature-rich in that aspect."

More Bitdefender MDR Cons →

"The tool needs improvement in clear communication and detection.""SentinelOne Vigilance doesn't actively monitor incoming emails or offer an email plugin for Outlook.""Occasionally during an update, customers may temporarily be without protection until the upgrade is complete.""My only complaint is that the knowledge base is not accessible to the customer.""It's too early to say what needs improvement.""SentinelOne Vigilance doesn't have a direct connection with MSPs.""The solution should add endpoint clients for mobile and Linux devices because it currently doesn't support them.""Sometimes, SentinelOne Vigilance also detects false positives, which are not true. In such cases, we need to make changes in the policies on the dashboard accordingly."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solution's price is spot on; if anything, it's slightly below the norm for most services. Compared to building the same team internally, it would cost more to create the same amount of capability than what we get from an external team. Price-wise, Binary Defense is in a great spot."
  • "From the initial cost that Binary Defense came in with, we pared it down quite a bit over the course of 30 or 60 days. My leadership would say that their cost was high, but realistically, they were in line with the market."
  • "The pricing is on target. Working with their sales team on pricing negotiations was a pleasant process. They were very respectful of the constraints we had and I feel that we're paying a fair price."
  • "It's valued at the right price. Even with the number of endpoints we have, we don't feel that it's a lot more than any competitor. In fact, it might be less expensive when you look at the fact that you're getting a full flex SOC out of it along with the tools."
  • "Binary Defense has changed its pricing model from being primarily based on the volume of data to one based on escalations and incidents they handle."
  • "Binary Defense MDR is priced competitively and may be slightly lower than CrowdStrike."
  • "After we acquired this platform, we met with a number of different vendors. Binary Defense came in with a proposal that was surprisingly affordable. In fact, we were able to recoup the cost of their services within a short period of time. This is because Binary Defense is able to provide the same level of security as a team of two or three in-house analysts but at a fraction of the cost. As a result, Binary Defense is saving us an estimated $250,000 to $300,000 per year."
  • "The pricing isn't that bad, it's very competitive. I don't feel that it's over-priced and I don't feel that it's under-priced."

  • "It varies based on the number of licenses."
  • "I know it is based on the volume and size and also on different multi-year agreements. There are different discounts applied, but I can't really speak about the specifics."
  • "I would rate the tool's pricing a four out of ten."
  • "Bitdefender fit well for customers with about 50 to 200 users. The price point is great, and you get a lot of bang for your buck."
  • More Bitdefender MDR Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The licensing cost depends on the number of connected devices and whether you purchase additional services."
  • "I give the cost a three out of ten."
  • "I rate the solution's pricing a five out of ten since it is a very highly-priced solution."
  • "I rate the product's pricing an eight out of ten since it is really expensive, but it is well worth what my company gets."
  • "The solution’s pricing is very reasonable."
  • "On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing an eight out of ten."
  • "SentinelOne Vigilance is priced in a normal range."
  • "The tool's pricing is slightly cheaper than other alternatives. It's not just about licensing costs; because we already have it implemented, we can save money on deployment and initial setup. Additionally, SentinelOne Vigilance is slightly cheaper in licensing, maybe around 10-15 percent cheaper."
