We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Remote access and detailed monitoring help us support our equipment.""It is very scalable.""ConnectWise Automate's interface is pretty easy to use. It's pretty intuitive to get around and navigate it. It does what I need, which is usually connecting to the client and customers systems.""It allows us to manage all client requests, jobs and invoicing.""The database is great. It's a nicely ordered database.""Maybe they could improve the capability to be multi-tenant.""Scripting and patch management are really important for us. Patch Manager is something that we use a lot, and we would love to have it continually improved. It is one of the most useful features for us for controlling patches and other things for different clients.""The most value we get from this solution is that everything is on a patch cycle."

"This solution gives us important information about the utilization of protocols, particularly in terms of how often they are used.""The most valuable feature is the ability to look for any increases in bandwidth over time so that we can plan before it becomes critical.""In terms of the implementation, we've actually used SAM, the server and application monitoring tools. The network configuration tools are very useful in terms of bulk upgrading switches and infrastructure. Also, the Network Traffic Analyzer was extremely useful to track down errant users soaking up bandwidth.""For stability, I would give SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer a rating of ten out of ten.""The software management tools are very useful for our customers.""I would rate NetFlow Traffic Analyzer's stability ten out of ten.""The bandwidth monitoring functionality is one of the most important features for our customers. When the customer notices that their bandwidth usage is too high for some reason, they will use the traffic analysis within SolarWinds NTA to identify which protocols (e.g. HTTPS) or applications are using up the bandwidth.""The most helpful feature of SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer is bandwidth analysis, which lets you see who's hogging your network."

Cons
"Technical support was helpful.""The project management needs improvement and there's a section of the product called configuration that also needs to be improved.""This is a raw system. Of course, it has some flaws that could be improved. But, it's something that we will have to work with to get to the point where we need this, we request it and they do their best to make it happen.""We would love to get feature updates and cumulative updates fixed. I know they aren't really supposed to be pushed with Patch Manager. We've got recommendations from ConnectWise to use the scripted feature update installs, scripted KB updates, etc. Having these in Patch Manager itself would be great.""Scheduling of automation could be improved and made more simple.""The menu doesn't always load properly.""They could use some automated alerts particularly when we're talking about an MSP that might shoot over.""There could be better linkages between ConnectWise Automate and Manage from a ticketing perspective. Automate and Manage each has its own ticketing system. We use the one in Manage, but it'd be nice if they were linked directly to the one in Automate."

More ConnectWise Automate Cons →

"I would like to see more artificial intelligence capabilities.""One area that we struggle with is the price. Because the price of this solution is so high, we are largely unable to introduce it into the local market, and only the banking sector has the means to afford it.""The Atlas module that is used for building the network map is very bad.""There are some areas for improvement in SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer. There are some challenges with the solution when compared to other monitoring tools such as difficulty in operations and difficulty with backup installation. My team is currently trying out different solutions but would need to see how it goes.""SolarWinds' technical support is ok, but it could be faster and more knowledgeable.""I'm expecting to see a little bit more artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms. They need a bit more sophistication in that.""The problem is that SolarWinds is trying to bolt in too much and that can leave bugs, which you have to then sort out, leaving the product unstable. SolarWinds needs to try and slow down and improve the stability of the product, as opposed to bringing out more and more features.""I would like to see better customization capabilities."

  • "The price of this solution is exceptional."
  • "While the pricing is fair, it could be better."
  • "The pricing is reasonable."
  • "We pay yearly, and we are happy with its price."
  • "We have licenses for SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer. In terms of pricing, its license is not that expensive versus other tools such as HP."
  • "Pricing for SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer is very high. I have a customer that needs the solution but doesn't have the budget for SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer because the problem is that you can't use the solution only. You have to buy requirements such as the SolarWinds NPM first, and some companies don't have the budget for all the required components and modules. SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer can cost up to $10,000, and some customers don't have that budget. Another product has all the modules that SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer has, with a very low price, that can be a replacement, which is ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer. PRTG is another solution that can replace SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer."
