We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The customization has been the most valuable aspect and was really the reason we ended up selecting Binary Defense. They worked with us to provide exactly the level of support, features, response, and collaboration we needed.""One of the main benefits of Binary Defense MDR is the ability to easily meet with their support team to discuss any issues we encounter.""The most valuable feature is reviewing tickets and the notes added by technicians.""Binary Defense's most valuable feature is the 24/7 monitoring and threat hunting. Their team checks the latest breaches and how they're done.""With Binary Defense, we don't just get an alert, but also a detailed rundown of why they're alerting us on it. They tell us what was executed, or the username, script, or IP. That way, we're not wasting time investigating.""Among the valuable features are the agent, continuous reporting, and dashboard. It has all the features we need and we haven't had to customize it, other than turning on certain features that we wanted.""The speed at which their services are reactive is valuable. Nowadays, when a threat hits an endpoint, you've got minutes, not hours or days. Their average response time is about four minutes on an alert. For anything that needs to be sent to us, it's about fourteen minutes, which is pretty good. They're the third SOC that I've used in fifteen years. By far, they are the quickest ones to act. When you're looking at prevention, that's a key factor.""The case interface is Binary Defense MDR's most valuable feature."

"We have experienced ROI using this solution. The value is clear when you are able to stop a ransomware attack or other threats.""EDR and Next-Generation Antivirus (NGAV) are good features. The Spotlight feature is also good, and it also can detect patching-related vulnerabilities.""The endpoint detection and response is very valuable.""CrowdStrike side, Falcon is the Endpoint Detection, Overwatch is the service that sits behind it. From a human point of view looks at the anomalies that normal AI and machine learning couldn't catch. So it is the combination of the two that really works well.""The AI and the group knowledge base that they get from having multiple clients in the cloud is very useful to us.""I like Falcon's AI functionality and vulnerability management. That has been so helpful. Falcon Complete can manage vulnerabilities, quarantine threats, and do all kinds of forensic incident analysis. It's a lightweight solution that only uses 1% of the CPU, which is a game changer. Other EDRs have had high CPU usage.""It's a stable application. It is one of the most stable out of all the other market applications, especially if you're talking about within the EDR platform.""Falcon Complete's best features are its detailed reporting and user-friendliness."

"It is easy to manage surveillance.""Unlike previous solutions, where we were solely informed of security incidents, Covalence's MDR allows for real-time incident prevention.""It's running in the background and does a packet-level analysis of everything that comes in. It also has an auto-response feature, so if something gets through and is clicked on, or somehow gets through the network, it gets isolated and quarantined, and we get notified.""There are user notifications about our cloud solutions and access, meaning authentication and possible breaches. Overall, the notifications and alerts are valuable. There are also new features like the DNS protection, which is quite good.""The standout feature is its continuous 24/7 monitoring of all network traffic, providing unparalleled vigilance.""The ARO alerts are helpful to use almost daily to get a sense of what actions we need to take to expedite security measures.""The most valuable feature is the network traffic monitoring function.""The solution's advanced detection behaviors, automated notifications and responses, and automated remediation behaviors are valuable features."

Cons
"We should be able to isolate devices faster. They should shorten the time between clicking on a device to contain it and carrying out the action. That would be a welcome improvement.""The only area I see for improvement with Binary Defense is their service portal. It could benefit from some enhancements.""The most significant area for improvement is in support for non-English speakers; we're a global organization, so many of our users are not English speakers, which can make interacting with them a challenge. There's no Chinese language support, so we must rely on what we can do with the internet. We don't expect Binary Defense to build a language staff, but details can get lost in translation when we assume the whole world speaks English.""We found that an earlier version of the agent had high memory usage and that was a bit concerning, but we raised the concern with their support team and they immediately replied that they had noticed the same thing and had a candidate fix already available... it totally fixed the issue.""Binary Defense MDR could be even better with additional features, like automatic scans and file quarantine.""I would like to see more frequent check-ins with our security status.""It's hard to think of anything that they need to improve on, but just to point out something, I would like to see them provide advanced XDR.""I don't find any downside to them, but if I have to put one, it would be consistent manpower or staffing. The only area where the solution can be improved is going to be with people. As they grow, they are struggling with the same thing that every other company is, which is getting talent and getting that talent to stay, but they've just revised their tiering system to go from a flat analyst and manager to a three-tier solution where it goes through two or three before it gets elevated. That seems to have worked out well, so if one level misses it, the next one picks it up, and it works out fine."

More Binary Defense MDR Cons →

"I would like to see them introduce DLP.""The technical support is good. However, the technical support is outsourced to India which causes some language barriers. I am not sure if this is still an issue, they might have allotted more suitable representatives.""The solution needs to have human involvement, they could improve by having more automation where the solution can take the necessary action on time and more accurately.""Their endpoint solution is excellent. But I would like to see them improve their HDR, as well as their DLP (Data Loss Prevention).""We're a small organization. I'm not sure how it would fare if you were larger and had more and more users and added complexity.""CrowdStrike Falcon Complete does not include patch management functionality.""When you enable a particular feature, it takes a long time, from 15 to 30 minutes, to implement in enterprise environments. This can be improved.""The solution should be lighter because it currently uses a lot of computing sources."

More CrowdStrike Falcon Complete Cons →

"The cost of the solution has room for improvement.""It would be more effective if it could surgically isolate the specific malicious process instead of deleting the entire machine.""The area where they can make it better is by giving responses to the end-user. For example, when there is an alert to the administrator, I get it. I have to copy and paste everything to everyone... And then I have to follow up with them, and it's a real pain.""I have had a couple of challenges around updates to the agents where it seems it doesn't automatically replace older versions.""In the "Arrows" tab, if we encounter multiple duplicate recommendations, it would be helpful to be able to select and resolve or dismiss them all at once.""There are tags for security threats, but I only view them. I do not action anything. I just see what is happening. Sometimes, they are a little bit vague, and I am unsure what they mean, so I leave that to the IT experts. Overall, we are quite satisfied with their product and how it is working.""While the reporting is good, I would like more of a white-label option with my company's name at the top and a clean look for the report.""One limitation is that if someone takes their laptop outside the office building, the DNS firewall provides minimal coverage, and we are unable to generate reports."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solution's price is spot on; if anything, it's slightly below the norm for most services. Compared to building the same team internally, it would cost more to create the same amount of capability than what we get from an external team. Price-wise, Binary Defense is in a great spot."
  • "From the initial cost that Binary Defense came in with, we pared it down quite a bit over the course of 30 or 60 days. My leadership would say that their cost was high, but realistically, they were in line with the market."
  • "The pricing is on target. Working with their sales team on pricing negotiations was a pleasant process. They were very respectful of the constraints we had and I feel that we're paying a fair price."
  • "It's valued at the right price. Even with the number of endpoints we have, we don't feel that it's a lot more than any competitor. In fact, it might be less expensive when you look at the fact that you're getting a full flex SOC out of it along with the tools."
  • "Binary Defense has changed its pricing model from being primarily based on the volume of data to one based on escalations and incidents they handle."
  • "Binary Defense MDR is priced competitively and may be slightly lower than CrowdStrike."
  • "After we acquired this platform, we met with a number of different vendors. Binary Defense came in with a proposal that was surprisingly affordable. In fact, we were able to recoup the cost of their services within a short period of time. This is because Binary Defense is able to provide the same level of security as a team of two or three in-house analysts but at a fraction of the cost. As a result, Binary Defense is saving us an estimated $250,000 to $300,000 per year."
  • "The pricing isn't that bad, it's very competitive. I don't feel that it's over-priced and I don't feel that it's under-priced."
  • More Binary Defense MDR Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The price is okay, although you're not going to get away cheap when it comes to security."
  • "At approximately €60 per machine, per year, I think that it's a good price point."
  • "It is a fairly firm price. It is not the cheapest solution, but if you take the complete team into consideration, it is a great value."
  • "The average price is approximately $500 per customer."
  • "CrowdStrike is more expensive than SentinelOne. Licensing works on the number of agents and the modules you buy. CrowdStrike has different modules, such as Falcon, Falcon Overwatch, Falcon Complete, etc. The pricing depends upon the module that the customer wants. They have different Incident Response (IR) teams, which are very expensive."
  • "They are really reasonable for the services they are providing. When you add more endpoints, you are going to pay more for the license."
  • "Its price is very high. CrowdStrike Falcon Complete is 50% more expensive than Cisco AMP for Endpoints."
  • "There is a license for this solution and everything is included. However, The price of the could be lower."
  • More CrowdStrike Falcon Complete Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The cost of the solution is high."
  • "Covalence is cost-effective."
  • "We were particularly impressed with their pricing model, which charges per user rather than per system."
  • "Although Covalence is expensive, it provides good value for the price."
  • "The pricing is comparable to what else is out there."
  • "We're currently enrolled in the volume package, which offers tiered pricing based on usage."
  • "While Field Effect Covalence's pricing seems competitive for the market, the biggest hurdle lies in the lack of dedicated security budgets within many organizations."
  • "The licensing model itself is solid, but we're ironing out some inconsistencies in how customer profiles are configured."
