"It is stable and easy to set up.""I feel that the initial setup was straightforward and not complex.""I found it very valuable as a whole. It is good at detecting anything and has kept us very safe. It is also very easy to use.""Carbon Black has very good market strategies.""The product is pretty strong in terms of security and their features are very good in that respect.""The solution is extremely scalable.""The whole purpose of the product, like application control, is very good, and also if you need to update some policies, it works well and instantly.""The solution is stable."

Cons
"CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is not suitable for the current situation because when you compare it to OTP, OTP is the strongest password solution. You can use it as a one-time password, but you have to log into the password manager itself and if you don't change your password, it will be the weakest link in the security. In OTP, you don't have that weakest link.""For an experienced system implementer it will take approximately one day. However, for somebody who is inexperienced it may take up to five days.""Compared to other tools like Linux, this solution isn't as user-friendly.""The price of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required. The product's price should be made more flexible.""The product's threat protection and defense capabilities need enhancement.""It is hard to deal with technical support if you are not certified.""It cannot be on-prem. It is only cloud-based. Sometimes, that's a restriction in terms of usage.""They need much better integration with Azure AD."

"The application control can be improved. It should also have an automatic update of the agents.""I'm not sure as to the logic of how we've decided to customize it. We've only really used it since February and therefore there may be more to do on that front. That's why it's hard to say if something is missing or if we just aren't utilizing it.""This solution could have greater granular control on how certain applications work.""The solution needs better overall compatibility with other products.""There could be more knowledge. I think they made a mistake when they took away the Check Point integration, because it provides more automation and also more threat intelligence.""At this point, we're test-bedding several other providers right now to see if there's anything that does equally or better and that comes at a better price point.""The endpoint machines need improvement.""What was rolled out to my company are mixed versions of Carbon Black CB Defense, so what I'd like to see in the next release is more synchronization, where it can detect the endpoint that's running an old version and suggest updates."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "licensing for this solution is based on the number of APV (privileged users), and the number of sessions that you want to record."
  • "I think that it was in the range of $200,000 that had to get approved."
  • "Pricing depends on how many devices you use. Right now, on-premise, it costs us a little, but it's worth it. It seems like the cloud solution is much more expensive. We got this solution one year ago, and it's like we bought the solution, and now they are not going to support it on-premise anymore. We are in the implementation phase, and we missed this, and we already paid for the licenses. This is wasted time from my perspective, and CyberArk should be more customer-friendly."
  • "The cost for CyberArk is very high."
  • "The price of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is expensive."
  • "The price of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is expensive. The solution is priced based on the number of accounts onboarded and the number of concurrent sessions. Everyone else is included in the price, such as support."
  • "We pay about $17 per user."
  • "CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager has a very high price, so it's a one out of ten for me in terms of pricing."

  • "The cost/benefit factor has great relevance in Cb Defense implementations."
  • "The cost is a considerable factor, but the benefit factor is the most important. When you compare it with other products, the price is high. Carbon Black will negotiate the price."
  • "I am not really involved in the pricing of this product. But, from my understanding, it is OK for us."
  • "Carbon Black might be a touch more expensive than Symantec. They tend to get a premium for their capabilities. They're sort of an industry leader in a lot of areas with the functionality that they provide."
  • "We have branches, we have different companies, but we cannot buy less than 100 licenses. This does not make sense to me... It should be more flexible. I can understand their saying, "Okay, to be a customer you need 100," but to add on to that number it should be something very straightforward. If I need to add five, for example, I shouldn't need to add 100."
  • "The pricing [is] more or less the same as other similar solutions."
  • "It's reasonable in price"
  • "The price for the solution is completely at government level, meaning one which is very high."
