We performed a comparison between Denodo and webMethods Integration Server based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Cloud Data Integration solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The performance and the speed to market are the most valuable features of this solution."
"While we may not be using all the features of Denodo at this time, we have found the data virtualization features to be very useful in helping us connect our data sources together, bringing all our data into one platform."
"The ability to transfer data is very valuable."
"It is a very stable solution."
"It can support a number of data sources, and it can pull flat files, from cloud-based databases or from those on-premises. Denodo can pull from any data source and interface with the view. Then, we can publish the view."
"In PL/SQL, first you need to gather all the data and then start writing the file, but in Denodo you fetch the data and write the data simultaneously. So, for example, if you have 1 million or 2 million records, you don't have to wait to fetch all of the 2 million; you can keep on fetching and writing in the file simultaneously."
"In general, it's good for us to make tests so we can scout the data."
"One thing that we have noticed is that when you have a BI tool, you end up building a lot of the logic in the BI tool, but as a company, every company wants to be tool agnostic because today, you could be in the Qlik Sense, and tomorrow, you may decide to go with Tableau or something else that is there. If you have put a lot of logic within the tool, transitioning or moving away from one BI tool to another tool becomes a very intensive process. By keeping the logic in Denodo, you can move to any tool."
"How simple it is to create new solutions."
"webMethods Integration Server is an easy-to-use solution and does not require a lot of coding."
"The tool is very powerful and user-friendly."
"The solution's ease-of-use is its most valuable feature, in which complex issues may be resolved."
"The MFT component of webMethods, for example, is easy to set up and convenient to use. It handles files very efficiently and it is easy to automate tasks with complex schedules. Monitoring is centralized to MWS which can be used to monitor other products as well (Trading Networks, BPM, MFT, etc.)"
"One valuable feature is that it is event-driven, so when new data is available on the source it can be quickly processed and displayed. Integration is definitely another useful feature, and B2B is one area where webMethods has its own unique thing going, whereby we can do monitoring of transactions, monitoring of client onboarding, and so on."
"All of the components are very independent but are tied together to give the business value."
"What I like best about webMethods Integration Server is its portfolio of connectors."
"Denodo has some difficulty supporting large numbers of records."
"Lacks integrations with AWS, GCP and the like."
"I would like to see a connectivity option with third-party apps, for example, JDBC, and ODBC drivers. Currently, we need to install it separately from the Denodo side and then connect it."
"It would be good if the solution provided a much-needed cellular platform."
"The feature that you have to connect on LDAP needs improvement."
"The solution should have its own acceleration technology."
"The dropdown menus feel antiquated to me, and the administrative portals need improvement."
"User-specific security at the column and row levels needs to be improved. Instead of applying security at every individual level, it would be better if it were at the group or tier level. It will save a lot of time."
"On the monitoring side of things, the UI for monitoring could be improved. It's a bit cumbersome to work with."
"webMethods Integration Server needs to add more adapters."
"There should be better logging, or a better dashboard, to allow you to see see the logs of the services."
"The Software AG Designer could be more memory-efficient or CPU-efficient so that we can use it with middle-spec hardware."
"Upgrades are complex. They typically take about five months from start to finish. There are many packages that plug into webMethods Integration Server, which is the central point for a vast majority of the transactions at my organization. Anytime we are upgrading that, there are complexities within each component that we must understand. That makes any upgrade very cumbersome and complicated. That has been my experience at this company. Because there are many different business units that we are touching, there are so many different components that we are touching. The amount of READMEs that you have to go through takes some time."
"I would like to have a dashboard where I can see all of the communication between components and the configuration."
"The UI for the admin console is very old. It hasn't been updated for years and is pretty much the same one that we started with. This is something that could be refreshed and made more modern."
"The logging capability has room for improvement. That way, we could keep a history of all the transactions. It would be helpful to be able to get to that without having to build a standalone solution to do so."
