Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Adds value to application owners, DB owners, and provides visibility on how end users utilize browsers and where they are originate from.""Real time monitoring helps reduce downtime. It saves a lot of time in determining what is the likely cause of an issue an end user may be experiencing.""The agent deployment is the most valuable. You don't need to do any configuration. You just deploy the agents, and it can automatically detect your infrastructure. That was the greatest feature that we saw in Dynatrace. If there is any database, it can detect it automatically and present everything to you.""Our development group has started using Dynatrace extensively. It helps them find bottlenecks caused by code.""Dynatrace alerts are based off of deviations from baseline metrics, which it is constantly collecting.""The real user experience monitoring is very helpful. We can see what real users are seeing, what JavaScript errors, what pages are very slow for them. As well, it helps to correlate the front-end users to the back-end application components, and the corresponding Method which is failing, as well. We are able to go to the correct spot and fix the issue.""Dynatrace helps us to improve overall performance and allows us to detect the root cause of an outbreak on our systems.""Dynatrace's power lies in its ability to inspect and chart transactions, and draw the PurePath tree. The parameters of the requests and methods can be selected to access the necessary information for efficient analysis."

"We find the products seamless integration with Zendesk to be extremely valuable to our business.""It greatly assists small and medium-sized businesses in using the ITSM, alerting, and monitoring features.""Most features work fine.""The most valuable feature of this solution in my experience, is that the available reporting is quite accurate.""Predictive analysis is a valued feature.""The technical support is fantastic, and they are fast to respond.""The most valuable features of OpsRamp include a single pane of glass, event correlation, personalized dashboards, and a single platform solution.""The most valuable feature of OpsRamp is the creation of the dashboards of the infrastructure for the CPU memory and SQL servers. Additionally, URL monitoring through Selenium scripting and the availability dashboard is useful."

Cons
"For an easy view of global and entity-specific configurations, a separate tile or pane aggregating these configurations should be implemented.""On the side of the end user experience, I would suggest adding a new service for analyzing the backtrace of users.""Definitely something to be improved is that OneAgent runs as a route, and not all applications want to run as route. Part of the problem is different technology companies will have various rules, regulations, and policies around what can run as a route.""Possibly include some network monitoring capabilities.""The dashboard tool needs to be improved. We need more options, because the look and feel is too old-fashioned.""Setting up the thresholds and alerting, it is complicated to understand their use cases.""sometimes it happens that we are not able to capture things. For example, if a person is logged in from India, from the city of Mumbai, and is using a Chrome browser, and his email ID is xyz@abc.com. But what happens is, Dynatrace just fetches two pieces of the information, not all of it. Sometimes it gets it all, sometimes it doesn't.""There is still a certain amount of technical skills needed to be able to understand what you are seeing on it. You also need a large amount of technical or infrastructure skills to understand how and where to install it."

More Dynatrace Cons →

"OpsRamp could improve the critical alerts. We have been receiving some false alerts when monitoring. For example, the alert shows the site is down, but when we try to do manual access to the URL, it's accessible.""OpsRamp cannot be scaled for big and large company deployments.""We have 55 AVDs, and patches might roll out to 32-35 initially, with the rest taking a month or so. OpsRamp can't detect them all directly. Since clients want patches applied as soon as possible, we manually patch those remaining devices.""The function to search any particular device within this solution needs to be improved. Currently, the solution develops a lag when a search, or a comparison, is being carried out.""I would like to see two things. The first is a self-service portal for the cloud, any cloud deployments, and the second is maturity validation towards ITSM, internalizing OpsRamp TSM. As a result, instead of integrating with more mature tools similar to ServiceNow, people will use OpsRamp.""The user interface of this product requires some changes as it is not inclusively user-friendly. For example, the performance indicators are color-based , which means that they are confusing for anyone who is color blind.""What's lacking in OpsRamp is process automation, and if there is, I wish there could be more of it, other than just spikes, or it would be better if the alerts can be generated based on different matrices. That option is absent in OpsRamp at the moment, and it would be valuable if that could be provided in the solution, especially if there's any kind of security issue in the VM.""An area of improvement would be application monitoring."
