Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's easy to move files around, even to, for example, SharePoint.""Egnyte Connect is a great application to save files.""It is scalable and stable.""It provides a way to granularly choose which folders from the internet you want to sync to your computer. It is really useful for people who are working on teams that are working with files that are frequently changing. You can go in and pretty clearly see what changes have been made. It gives you a constant feed.""You can really do a lot of cool things with it in terms of being able to co-author and share documents with users that are not in your organization.""From a small firm perspective, Egnyte Connect is simple, it is easy to get users up and running the same day, and I have nothing negative to say about the software. I can't speak to how Egnyte Connect would operate in a midsize company or even a large Fortune 500 company, but, from our perspective as a small business, it is fantastic.""It is a good storage solution."

"The performance of this solution is fast because it is hosted by Google.""It is very easy to use. Everything is available on the cloud, which is what I like the most. So, when we require a document, we can download it at any time and in any of the formats.""The initial setup of Google Drive Enterprise was simple.""Record your meeting and simply share with anyone without thinking where to store the file.""can create Google Docs links directly in Google Drive and choose whether to give edit or view access. As the owner of the link, I like that flexibility.""For me, the most important feature is the option to save the documents and then access it from anywhere from a mobile or a desktop, or any other device.""The initial setup is easy.""Google autosaves your work, which means you won't lose things."

Cons
"Before, when we were starting to use Egnyte, we were struggling with a lot of bugs with Egnyte desktop sync.""You cannot delete a file when you have uploaded it in error.""As of right now, I have everything that I and my team need.""If this solution had a better ability to search, that would be helpful. In addition, if there was an ability to collaborate, that would also be a benefit. At present, the vision control is had because if someone gets out of it, it locks. And, whoever saves last overrides everyone's work.""It would be nice to see an integration of using an active directory to validate and authenticate users on our end as well as on the client user's end.""The issue of my authorization token expiring pretty quickly was pretty annoying. On pretty much every update, it would expire on every computer. On every computer update, at the first opportunity, it would expire. When my computer got updated or the authorization got cut, my saved drives would get messed up. So, I had to reconnect them all. I was never able to set up a useful drive system with my local computer with Egnyte Connect. It would be a big improvement if there was a cached system so that when it loses connection, it can still save what kind of connections were set up, and when it reconnects, it repopulates all those. I don't know if that's even possible, but that's the feature I'd want."

More Egnyte Cons →

"The ability to share documents with outside clients can be improved. It is difficult to share documents with outside clients, and that's why I am looking at some other solution. If you use Google Drive, they want you to use all of their Google Suite, but not everybody uses Google Suite for document creation. It is not a great solution if you are working with a company that doesn't use Google Suite.""I also use Word from Microsoft Office. Sometimes it's difficult to find some features that are available in Office and not available in Google Docs or are in a different place (if you are more used to Word). We sometimes lose time trying to find certain useability features.""I am not sure what will happen if you forget to renew your license.""There is really not too much that I think needs to be added to the product to improve it. Some of the features within Sheets could be enhanced so this product is a more complete replacement for Excel.""The free storage amount should improve in Google Drive Enterprise. They only provide a small amount of storage.""The conversion of Microsoft Office documents into Google documents could be improved.""There are a few kinks to work out at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple and extremely useful.""A separate interface to give users a summary of how they've shared items on the drive would be useful. You can end up having a lot of stuff and the sheer amount can end up making users feel a little bit lost in terms of knowing who they've actually shared items with."

    Overview
Egnyte is a hybrid cloud storage service that provides online file sharing, file transfer, and cross-office syncing solutions to small, medium, and large businesses. The company specializes in providing businesses with customizable solutions using both cloud-only technology and local storage. Businesses using Egnyte's services benefit from increased efficiency, reliable security, and removal of communication barriers. Egnyte, like many of its competitors, features customizable services that help businesses stay organized and productive while maintaining a high level of security. In order to provide uninterrupted levels of security, Egnyte only allows access to files though certificate-based trusted devices via a two-step login verification process. Egnyte offers businesses control over its services with the ability to monitor use and access information through a single, user-friendly control panel, which is accessible in any web browser. The Egnyte platform is able to integrate with local storage, providing businesses with the option of using cloud-based storage or local devices, depending upon security preferences. Companies with satellite locations or remote employees benefit from Egnyte's flexible deployment models, scalable file sharing, and high speed collaboration capabilities regardless of changes in bandwidth limitations across locations. Additionally, Egnyte's platform makes use of hybrid storage synchronization, which reduces bandwidth saturation and increases performance. Egnyte appeals to growing businesses because it offers customizable services and flexible file sharing solutions. Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby's International Realty, with over 275 agents and employees spread throughout the Atlanta metro area, was struggling to increase the efficiency of staff communication. After working with Egnyte, Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby's International Realty was able to develop a hybrid file sharing infrastructure that allowed for the syncing and sharing of large files, protection of confidential information, and a reduction in bandwidth use.

Drive Enterprise enables you to transform how your business stores, accesses, and secures files, all without extensive change management. Drive Enterprise is a standalone offering with usage-based pricing that includes all the features of Drive.
