We performed a comparison between FlexPod XCS and HPE ConvergedSystem based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Converged Infrastructure solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."I would rate technical support as a 10 out of 10. They are good and responsive."
"It is very stable. We have had absolutely zero problems."
"FlexPod has affected the workload of our network admin team awesomely. We have fewer employees. It's good."
"Once it is in place, we do not touch it, so it is more stable than other solutions."
"Things got a lot faster. We can pull and test in DEV systems much more rapidly and are clearing up a lot of DBA time. In the past, every time we tested it, we needed to be refreshed. In the past, it would take a day of our DBA's time, and now it's just point, click, and ten minutes later it's done."
"NetApp is always coming up with features that I want before I know that I want them."
"High availability is outstanding. We haven't had any problems with that."
"We have seen a 20 percent improvement in application performance."
"The flexibility is the most advantageous aspect of the solution. Our system has a very big environment. Due to this, the replication and backup operation is not an easy task. We prefer HPE SimpliVity modules in our environment, even when we have some different cases in operations."
"The tool's most valuable features are stability and scalability."
"The storage, BladeSystems, Virtual Connect, and simplicity with hyper-converged solutions are the most valuable features of this solution."
"The most valuable features of the solution are the flexibility and the availability of the machines."
"We use the solution for DDI."
"The most valuable features of HPE ConvergedSystem are scalability and resilience."
"The solution's most valuable feature is its ability to restore lost machines. Essentially its high availability capabilities are extremely valuable to us."
"We find the deduplication and compression features to be most valuable, as well as that of the backup solution inside."
"We would like to have a single pane of glass available for it. It is something that the management in the business would like to have."
"There is a history of issues with hardware availability. For example, we'll buy an array or a filer with a particular configuration and particular size of drive, sizing it appropriately. Then, as we grow, they're like, "Oh, you can always get more." Then when you go to get more, that model or type of disk is no longer available. It becomes this big process to try to figure out what we need to get, how it'll work, and how that'll integrate into the system. That could be simpler. They could do a bit more to guarantee the availability of parts. Obviously, not being the largest storage vendor, I know they can't sometimes control what the hardware vendors do. However, a bit more transparency and communication about this would be helpful."
"It would be nice to have something like an automated, upgrade solution The tasks needed to upgrade the hardware within FlexPod are still quite behind compared to some of its other aspects. That's more on the Cisco side."
"It would be helpful if they sold a pre-boxed option so that you can buy a rack and everything's already there, everything's connected."
"I would like to see them reduce the complexity, that would be my number one request because. Right now, doing simple things is pretty complex. You have so many options. It might be better if it were more wizard-driven, as opposed to going through five hundred dials. It's not very easy or intuitive."
"The GPU based VDA solutions could use improvement."
"We would like to have more monitoring and reporting, because today some of the reporting, and if you purchase it separately is expensive. We use OnCommand Unified Manager today, which is great, but we are looking for more of that."
"A piece where FlexPod has come up short in the past and an area for them to improve upon: single pane of glass management and single pane of glass upgrade process."
"I would like to see monitoring solutions included, as well as brand support."
"There is some scope for improvement in support. The response time could be better."
"The tool has shortcomings in its performance monitoring part."
"Pricing is an area of concern in the solution where improvements are required."
"Perhaps they can work on providing faster allocation of memory or storage."
"The solution has a complicated front-end."
"I would like to see better manageability and integration with third-party tools."
"The solution needs to add NFS features."
