Pros
"The product's initial setup phase is very easy.""Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance.""Ability to get forensics details and also memory exfiltration.""NGAV and EDR features are outstanding.""The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls.""Fortinet FortiEDR's firewalling, rule creation, monitoring, and inspection profiles are great.""It is very easy to set up. I would rate my experience with the initial setup a ten out of ten, with ten being very easy to set up.""I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks."

"The solution's TNA feature blocks devices from entering the network that do not meet compliance protocols.""The most valuable feature is that it's easy to deploy. Deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting are very easy.""From my perspective as an end user, it's consistently stable, and I would rate the stability as a nine out of ten.""For our clients with remote sites and deployed firewalls, the filtering and authentication features are very helpful.""It is very easy and useful. A normal user with basic information can easily connect to any environment.""The ability to reroute traffic from the user, connecting you to the internet rather than passing through our network area, is very useful.""The setup for FortiClient is really straightforward.""From Forticlient, the EMS, the central management is easy to use."

Cons
"Cannot be used on mobile devices with a secure connection.""The support needs improvement.""They can include the automation for the realtime updates. We have a network infrastructure with remote sites. Whenever they send updates, they are not automated. We have to go into the console and push those updates. I wish it was more automated. The update file is currently around 31 MB. It could be smaller.""FortiEDR can be improved by providing more detailed reporting.""The solution is not stable.""Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation.""To improve Fortinet, we need to see more features and technology areas at the endpoint level introduced.""Once, we had an event that was locked and blocked, but information about it came to us two or three days later."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"There should be more frequent releases or updates.""I would like Fortinet to improve FortiClient's compatibility with macOS.""FortiClient is not great in Linux.""In the next release, I would like to see an additional layer of security added.""Fortinet FortiClient could improve the connection because sometimes it drops.""It takes too long to install.""The features for application control and device control must be improved.""I haven't found that that solution does anything amazing."

More Fortinet FortiClient Cons →

"If an enterprise already has existing security features or products, GravityZone Business Security could integrate with them. This will make it a cost-effective solution without replacing their current setup.""The reporting functionality is quite minimal, and there are no alerts available. We are missing email encryption capabilities. We’ve also faced a few minor issues with the solution’s scalability.""From an administration perspective, the tool lacks functionalities related to RMM and MDM. The tool should offer add-ons, like RMM and MDM.""There could be more security features included in the product.""The initial setup of Bitdefender GravityZone Elite was a little complex. It's not for the average home user. You need to know what you're doing and understand what you're doing. During the deployment, it took us approximately an hour and a half to understand fully the way we wanted it to be set up, and then from there, it wasn't too bad.""Its performance can be better. It doesn't work very well for ransomware. That's why we are trying to evaluate other products.""Upgrades are heavy and require back up, making you feel like you're doing a fresh installation of this solution. Configuration can also be quite tedious if you want it to be configured based on your needs.""When you have to change some of the settings, the initial setup can become complicated."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
