We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks.""It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain.""Fortinet is very user-friendly for customers.""Additionally, when it comes to EDR, there are more tools available to assist with client work.""It is very easy to set up. I would rate my experience with the initial setup a ten out of ten, with ten being very easy to set up.""The main thing is that I feel safe. Because the processes that have been used to get a handle on the attackers are much better than other competitors""Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance.""The stability is very good."

"The VPN connection is the feature that I like the most.""FortiClient's most valuable features are that it's easy to install and connect and has OTP on email IDs and two-factor authentication.""The Fortinet FortiClient is simple to use.""I find it very easy to configure and also very stable.""It is very easy and useful. A normal user with basic information can easily connect to any environment.""The most valuable features are malware detection, integrates well with other solutions, and ease of use for all users.""This is a solid and stable solution.""There is a lot of documentation available online."

"Synchronized security is a great feature. My firewall knows exactly what is happening in my endpoint.""It is doing its job. We use it for standard antivirus purposes and for making sure that people aren't downloading infected attachments. Because we use the cloud version, it is easy to maintain. We don't have to do anything to really maintain it. It gets updated automatically.""Sophos EPP Suite has the capability to stop infections from spreading around the internal network even after the problems have infiltrated it.""This product is quite stable and there are no problems with it.""The most valuable feature is endpoint detection and response.""The solution is useful for security purposes.""What I like best about Sophos EPP Suite is that it's a good product. What's nice about it is that after I installed it on my computer, the tool detects and eliminates most of the problems, malware, and vulnerabilities. It works very well and is very efficient because it doesn't use up many resources from my computer. For me, Sophos EPP Suite is the best security and antivirus solution. In terms of its endpoint capabilities, I'm unable to comment on other Sophos security devices, but it seems Sophos EPP Suite has a next-generation firewall feature, though I didn't use it, and it may not be comparable to other next-generation firewalls. My current firewall is a next-generation firewall from Fortinet, and it's the best firewall for me in terms of cost and security, but for endpoint protection, I use Sophos EPP Suite, and it has the best security for my device. The tool is also good for organizations. It's the best tool.""It's very light on the endpoints."

Cons
"The only minor concern is occasional interference with desired programs.""They can include the automation for the realtime updates. We have a network infrastructure with remote sites. Whenever they send updates, they are not automated. We have to go into the console and push those updates. I wish it was more automated. The update file is currently around 31 MB. It could be smaller.""We'd like to see more one-to-one product presentations for the distribution channels.""Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation.""Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office.""We find the solution to be a bit expensive.""The solution is not stable.""FortiEDR could add a separate scanning dashboard. In incident management, we prefer to remove the endpoint system from the environment and scan the system. We typically use Symantec for that, but if we want to use FortiEDR for that, then we need a scanning tab to clarify things."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"It has a horrible performance. It is one of the most unstable VPNs I have ever used.""The pricing of the solution should be less expensive.""The features for application control and device control must be improved.""Technical support is awful. Their online response time is not prompt. They should not respond after four or five days. Their support guys are not competent enough. Small issues are taking time.""Initially, the support was very poor. It is getting better, but they should continue to improve this.""The solution could be more secure. I would like to see more safety features.""Sometimes there are issues when we are trying to connect.""The features of Fortinet FortiClient could be improved."

More Fortinet FortiClient Cons →

"There are also issues with the compatibility of the OS. When using Sophos with Windows and devices, most of them work well, but as soon as we work with macOS and Linux, many issues arise that we do not want to have.""There could be more integration included in Sophos EPP Suite.""Sophos does not currently inform users of potential compatability issues with Windows updates.""Sometimes there are issues with the antivirus back logs.""There has been an increase of about 7-10% in recent months. That's why we face issues with customers who have been using it since 2017.""There could be an equipment inventory feature for the solution.""One area for improvement in Sophos EPP Suite is the support response time, particularly of the management team. It could be faster because I only got a response from the manager after a few days. If you open a case directly from the website, the response from the technical support agent may have been faster. I didn't open the request from the website, so that could be the reason why the response time took longer.""From our enrollment perspective, I would say maybe it could be a little lighter in terms of agent usage so that there is less computer utilization."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
