We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Performance is a valuable feature.""You have access to a report as to what behaviors the example file entered in the registry.""FortiSandbox analyzes the behavior of processes in a sandbox environment, which is useful for threat hunting. The solution has an excellent standard configuration, and you can prioritize the types of files of VMs you want to analyze. It also integrates seamlessly with other Fortinet solutions, like FortiGate, FortiMail, and FortiEMS.""The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiSandbox are the analysis options, artificial intelligence, and the many interfaces it provides.""What I find most valuable, is that it is easy to use.""Integration is one of the solution's most valuable aspects. You can integrate even third-party solutions so that they can send the information or files they quarantine through the FortiSandbox""The most valuable feature was the EDR, endpoint detection and response.""One of the valuable features is its ability to detect new threats."

"The incident management on the solution is very good. You get a lot of detailed information about an incident. You also get a lot of documentation in connection with the CVI or integration.""You don't have to buy a separate email security platform. You can enable that using their endpoint, and I like that. You don't have to have two agents running on the same box.""All of the solution's features are quite valuable for us. We especially like the threat protection it provides.""Endpoint to network protects the line.""It has certainly helped out our audit efforts because we each stay compliant in terms of various security standards.""The great advantage in using this product is it creates multiple services.""The most valuable feature is NetFlow threat protection.""What I like most about Symantec Advanced Threat Protection is its notification capability."

Cons
"I don't know if it is viable to do an improvement like this. When there are passwords in the password-protected files, it can't scan them or do things like this. I don't know if an algorithm or something else could make it better. Nowadays, many legitimate office documents have passwords.""At least once a week we have a false alarm. This needs to be adjusted so that we get fewer of these occurrences.""The integration is limited. The solution needs to offer better integration with multiple vendors.""Fortinet FortiSandbox can improve by decreasing the time of analysis response. Other solutions have a better response time, such as WildFire.""The main area of concern in Fortinet FortiSandbox is its detection capabilities.""There could be more templates and a higher number of simulated VMs to configure more use cases. Sometimes we need to configure many use cases in many different environments, and if the number of VMs that we configure is limited, we have to remove some and reconfigure the environment if we need another environment.""I would like to have machine learning added to the solution in a future release.""Most people are confused about how to use the right integration of the right Fortinet product."

More Fortinet FortiSandbox Cons →

"Scalability could be better.""The administration interface needs a lot of improvement. It should be UI based, and simple. They need to improve it. It's pretty much not that friendly compared to what we were using as Bitdefender before. It's okay but is improving, actually.""There are limits with respect to blocking files by hash value or blocking IP addresses, and these limits should be removed.""Entire threat protection is not available for the advanced features.""An improvement could be made on the reporting because then it would be easier to collect information and submit it for compliance.""The security features need to be improved.""The cloud platform needs to have improvement in terms of the user interface and the different capabilities it has available. It needs to match the other leading next-gen EDR products that are available in the market. That's the reason why we are stepping away from Symantec. Their cloud environment is just generally lacking in comparison to others.""It also needs network-based threat protection for shared folders and files."

The product fuses intelligence from endpoint, network, and email control points, as well as Symantec’s massive global sensor network, to stop threats that evade individual security products. It leverages your existing Symantec Endpoint Protection and Symantec Email Security.cloud investments, so it does not require the deployment of any new agents. You can deploy a new installation of Symantec Advanced Threat Protection and start to discover suspicious activity in under an hour. Using the proven technology in Symantec Insight reputation based detection, Symantec SONAR behavioral analysis with the new Symantec Cynic sandbox and file analysis platform, Symantec Advanced Threat Protection provides better detection and prioritization than other vendors, allowing security analysts to “zero in” on just those specific security events of importance.
