Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Extremely reliable, providing great collaboration features.""The product can scale easily.""The solution is very stable.""Good performance, even on relatively slow connections; no local apps required.""Google seems to be a more stable environment than our current on-premise Microsoft solution that we're replacing.""The document sharing in which multiple people can work on the same document. To go along with that is the archiving of documents. If you mess up a document, it's easy to go get a previous version.""The features we use quite a lot are the mail and Google Drive. We can store documents and share documents between both employees here, locally in Sweden, and we have an office in the US as well. It's a very easy way to share information and documents, and have online meetings and stuff with Google Meet. We use it quite a lot.""The solution is very stable."

"There is a single pane of glass for user access and a single sign-on facility for the user. If you have already logged in to Microsoft Azure or on-premises, you can redirect directly to Microsoft Endpoint Manager, monitor all your security threats, and analyze the data associated with the application in a single, unified way.""The conditional access policies that we set up are very useful.""While Microsoft Intune boasts a wide range of features, its user-friendliness and bundled licensing cost are key considerations for me.""It allows our clients to have the confidence to centrally manage policies for security. It helps them in securing the organization from a technology aspect.""It provides control over all mobile devices that are being connected to the corporate network.""As the solution is a software as a service, the scalability is unlimited.""It is very easy to use. It has a very easy interface.""Conditional access has helped us tailor and enforce our security policies in the mobile space."

Cons
"Integrating Copilot with Google Workspace is slightly difficult.""The solution is not user-friendly and it doesn't integrate that well with Microsoft Office, which is one of the bigger business apps on the market, compared to Google Sheets and applications of that sort.""Less customizations than there used to be.""Some concerns over security, but there are moves to address this and provide admin tools to secure content and adhere to data protection regulations.""There are too many steps for sharing pictures.""Expensive with a complicated licensing structure.""The meeting platform of Google Workspace has room for improvement.""Some people complain that Google Mail is inflexible. It was advanced 10 years ago, but other solutions are cleaner and clearer."

More Google Workspace Cons →

"We haven't really gone through all the features of Intune. We are just discovering them. Every day, we see a new feature that we want to apply, but what will be great for Intune is to be able to deploy apps in a simple fashion. We should be able to easily install various apps on the Windows platform, iOS, and Android. Currently, we have to write some scripts. It's not as straightforward as we would like it to be. It should be simplified so that we can do it just with three clicks—next, next, finish—without needing to write a script.""It would be nice to have a location tracker for the mobile device management tool. I'm not sure if it exists but hasn't been configured or if it's missing, but we've been unable to utilize the location features.""I'd suggest adding more features for macOS in Intune. There should be more functionality for managing macOS. There should be a better capability for pushing things down on macOS. Currently, Intune is not capable of managing macOS at the same level as Windows.""They should make it easier to order it, however, that's generally true for everything from Microsoft.""Technical support is not that great.""It would be beneficial to have a more straightforward understanding of Intune's capabilities, presented in a simplified manner.""There can be some added features, such as an improved dashboard. Any new feature that could be a benefit to our customers would be good.""From a new user's perspective, it may be a little overwhelming because there are quite a few things to look at in the console, however, once you are sort of acclimated and are familiar with your core functions, it's fairly simple and straightforward."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "G Suite and Microsoft Office 365 offer products with similar functionality at several different price points. Zoho offer a more extensive range of products and attempts to provide all the applications required to run most small and medium-sized businesses."
  • "Careful consideration should be given to the different licensing options and provisions should be made for additional applications that may be required for your particular business."
  • "Traffic management tools may be required for larger setups and should be included in any pricing calculations."
  • "There are several areas where a G Suite implementation can reduce costs: lower license fees than some competing products, reduced hardware, and IT support costs."
  • "There are benefits that can provide a competitive advantage, e.g., improved productivity (with appropriate training), increased collaboration (with correct use of tools), flexible working - work from home or remote locations, easy to scale - fast onboarding of new employees, and ability to add and remove licenses, as required."
  • "We receive value for the price that we pay."
  • "The pricing is a bit on the higher side than normal. For a basic Google account it costs $100, but Enterprise is %150."
  • "The price per client within the business is too high."

I agree with @Saiyed Shahab Ahmed. You should also consider the management overhead of having multiple productivity tools.

Intune is more recommended for Microsoft OS or Microsoft products. On Chromebooks, if you are going with Google tech stack of Office apps, Google Workspace will be your go-to option in this case.

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."
