We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We're using the Community edition, but I know that it has really good dashboarding and alerts.""Allowing us to set up alerts and integrate with platforms we already use, such as Slack and OpsGenie to alert users of these errors proactively, is also a very useful feature.""We run a containerized microservices environment. Being able to set up streams and search for errors and anomalies across hundreds of containers is why a log aggregation platform like Graylog is valuable to us.""Open source and user friendly.""One of the most valuable features is that you are able to do a very detailed search through the log messages in the overview.""The product is scalable. The solution is stable.""This had increased productivity for the dev and support teams, because we are directly notifying them.""Everything stands out as valuable, including the fact that I can quantify and qualify the logs, create pipelines and process the logs in any way I like, and create charts or data maps."

"The most valuable features of ManageEngine EventLog Analyzer are the number of capabilities, file integration monitoring, web server log collection, and alert configuration.""The tool's reports show activities.""It is stable.""It's one of the easiest products. It's very simple to use.""The log management has helped to improve my organization.""The user interface is very good.""The initial setup is straightforward""I have made use of technical support and am certainly very satisfied with them."

Cons
"Over six months, I had two similar issues where searches were performed on field "messages". It exhausted all the memory of the ES node causing an ES crash and a Graylog halt.""Since container orchestration systems are popular and Graylog fits the niche well, perhaps they could officially support running in docker containers on Kubernetes as a StatefulSet as a use case. That way, the declarative nature of Kubernetes config files would document their best case deployment scenario-""I would like to see a default dashboard widget that shows the topology of the clusters defined for the graylog install.""Its scalability gets complicated when we have to update or edit multiple nodes.""With technical support, you are on your own without an enterprise license.""More customization is always useful.""More complex visualizations and the ability to execute custom Elasticsearch queries would be great.""We ran into problems with Elasticsearch throwing a circuit-breaking exception due to field data size being too large. It turned out that the heap size directly impacted this size in a high-throughput environment, causing unexplained instability in Graylog. We were able to troubleshoot on the Elasticsearch size, but we should have been able to reference some minimum requirements for Graylog to know that our settings weren't sufficient."

More Graylog Cons →

"The solution should improve on its log capturing capabilities.""The first tier of customer service and support is not great.""There's a lot to improve in terms of connectivity. Currently, we're utilizing it across various infrastructures and environments, including others' cloud. However, connecting it to our infrastructure and integrating it with some of our SMAX solutions poses difficulties.""I would like to see more detailed reports.""It may not be as easy to use as Splunk.""The customization of reports could be a lot easier. It is not difficult but it could be made easier.""Support could improve to make the solution better.""The solution is stable. However, there are limits. For example, we can do 2,500 Syslog events per second, but if we want to do more we have to install the distributor structure, and then we can expand how many events we can do. They could improve the stability."
