"The product allows the developer to see the actual problems in the applications.""The most valuable features are the dashboards and tracing.""You don't have to go through a list of 500 servers.""As soon as it monitors all our systems and is integrated with PagerDuty, the operations team just needs to wait for alerts on their cellphones to fix things.""It has in-depth analysis using developer code for someone whose not traditionally a developer.""The most important thing is that it tells us where the latency in throughput and response time are.""What I like best about New Relic APM is its user interface because it's simple. Cons
"It needs compatibility for Windows Mobile, because I think AppPulse doesn't have Windows Mobile.""It could be better if you had any of the reports that the customers asked from us, for example, punctually. Unfortunately, the reporter is not that practical.""The regulations should be better customized for the kind of data that we cannot send to the SALs environment.""I would love if AppPulse delivered more details about my users, for example, age and sex. It could split up the users into categories based on how frequently they use my product.""Currently, the information for management teams and technical teams are in the same view, but it would be useful if we could separate these views.""The one that sticks out in my mind is some flexibility to do recurring downtime.""I think they can improve the feature that identifies the operating systems, the brand of the devices, the response time, geolocalization.""The ability to get CI information from AppPulse into OMi."

"Some AIOps are missing in New Relic APS, and I would like to see more features in this area.""There are times when you restart the engines and the servers have a unique ID for the host and you need to remove the server. It is difficult because some are on-premise and others are production hosts. Having downtime is not very good when updating. However, it is not a constant issue.""There were some settings we had issues with.""The solution should include more detailed reports for SQL database requests.""The solution does not provide input on how the page performs in a big group. It just says that the page performance is bad, but it does not say what can be done to improve it. If they could provide some insight or guidance on how to make improvements, that would be a big help.""We have had issues with our agents going offline.""One thing that we noticed was that historical information was only for a limited period, which was not helpful in certain scenarios. For example, if I want to size my system for an event for New Year or Christmas season based on the historical data, I won't be able to find the historical data. Currently, the data is limited to three months. It would be helpful if they can provide historical data for a longer duration so that we can plan our system accordingly.""New Relic does enable frontend performance monitoring by default. However, when we are troubleshooting the issue, New Relic is not able to trace back to the service where the issue is. Other solutions, such as Dynatrace are better."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It was a no-brainer from a cost perspective compared to the other tools that we buy as an IT organization."
  • More AppPulse Suite [EOL] Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "New Relic is either free with low retention and minimal functionalities, or expensive with full options and retention."
  • "The monthly cost os $1000 per server per month, but it could be even more. We pay about $250 for the server, and then New Relic wants over $1000 to give us statistics on those servers."
  • "Cost is significant with a lot of extras."
  • "It would be nice if we could buy it annually instead of monthly."
  • "If it’s the right tool, it doesn’t matter what it costs because you’re going to get it back many-fold from your productivity."
  • "I recommend using the free version of New Relic. If you like the free version and understand its importance for your company, you can move to the trial. Then, you can migrate to the paid version."
  • "There is a picture which goes to your browser and it monitors requests from other users. However, it's impossible to use now because the price is very high. The feature is very nice, but I tried it during the trial period, and the current price makes it impossible to use."
  • "They gave us aggressive discounts when they were brought in for the first time, but they have also kept them for the year-on-year renewals, which has been absolutely fine."
